We arrived in Bar Harbor on a cruise ship. It was a foggy morning. Our captain couldn't decide whether or not we would tender ashore. It was on again, off again. I had arranged for a four hour tour with At Your Service Tours. After many phone calls, "we're coming, we're not coming, we're coming" we finally made it ashore. Thanks to the scheduler for working with us. Our tour guide, Nathan, was excellent. He was knowledgeable and showed us the highlights, although due to our late arrival, we needed to cut our tour short. I would highly recommend this company. read more

We booked last minute online after reading some great reviews. We booked the 4 hour tour to take us around Arcadia National Forest and surrounding areas. Our driver Grant arrived on time, clean SUV and proceeded to give us a great tour. Grant is very knowledgeable about the area. As your first time to Bar Harbour and the Acadia Park, we really needed a full tour with lots of explanations, history, first hand knowledge. And did we get it! Our tour guide, Mr Bill T., is a local with volumes of stories to tell, amazing historical information and all-around pleasure to be with. Our day was perfection, from on-time pick-up at the hotel, to a superb lunch of lobster (bypassing lines and to a pre-arranged table, because he know everyone!) to explanations that the average tourist would never have access to, unless seating by a computer. Tour driver was delightful and knowledgeable, but we were disappointed that our 4 hour tour slot was really only a 3.5 hour tour. Apparently the clock starts ticking as soon as the driver arrives at the pier to meet your cruise ship (even if you scheduled a later start time to allow time to disembark off the cruise). Our driver, Sue, was knowledgeable (without making it sound like a canned narration) and just fun to be with. Rather than be herded around in a large bus with a bunch of other cruise ship passengers, I booked a private 5 hour tour with AYS. My group of 12 adults was not disappointed. Our driver Paul took us to the popular spots well before the mobs descended on the areas. He also took us to spots not visited by the cruise buses. Had a morning picnic by a beautiful, quiet lake. Had a fabulous lobster lunch at a restaurant where we were almost the only customers. Paul was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He asked what our expectations were at the beginning of the tour and he met them. The office staff were also very helpful when I originally booked the tour. We scheduled a tour of Arcadia National Park for our Bar Harbor, Maine port of call on NCL Escape. The tour was excellent. At Your Service Tours created our own personalized tour of Arcadia. We were very lucky to have Melissa show us the sites of beautiful Bar Harbor when we were in port. Sadly we were unable to see Acadia National Park due to the government closure but she made sure we saw all of the beautiful sites of Bar Harbor and also dropped us off at a great spot for lunch (that was a different review) read more

He knows Acadia and Bar Harbor completely and was able to adapt our itinerary to the ever changing weather. Melissa picked me up from Bar Harbor Airport and I absolutely loved my conversation with her. She knew a lot about the Bar Harbor, the surrounding area and Maine in general. It's like I got a Quick Notes tour of Bar Harbor during my short cab ride. The company charges flat rates and all you have to do is call them to schedule a pick up. I think their rates are very reasonable. I also used their service on my ride back to the airport. I must say, they are very punctual and both drivers were very easy to talk to. So are you looking to get correct change back for services? Looking to get a consistent rate from ride to ride? Don't use this taxi! I ended up getting ripped off $22 using this service because I lost change (didn't have enough on hand) and the driver never came back, worse the zone they claimed I lived in was $11 more than the price I usually paid on a ride I took a number of times before. Did I mention that I explained to the driver what I usually paid and she simply didn't care? That I asked her whether she'd be back with what she owed for change, and she simply asked me to close her door and drove off without a word? That I called their dispatch and was met with nothing but hostility in trying to correct both problems? Yup. DON'T USE THIS SERVICE if you value your money at all! read more

If I could give a zero to this company I would. They left three of us stranded at Bangor airport on December 23 at 10pm. Reservation was made LONG in advance. Called the driver number and business number dozens of times -- unanswered and a machine. We were lucky enough to get a Lyft to take us to Bar Harbor -- cheaper than the AYS quoted price. If that weren't enough they called to confirm a return ride -- after NEVER having called to apologize or explain the missed pick up. Didn't even apologize then -- just said -- "oh yeah, I think the driver was sick." NEVER USE THEM. read more

We took the 5 hour tour on the holiday weekend. Our driver, Grant, showed up on time to pick us up at the motel. He started telling us all the great stories and history from the start. We always knew where we were, and where we were going. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. He was an excellent tour guide! I highly recommend this tour. You can get out and see the beauty of Acadia and you learn a lot. We had a great lunch at the lobster shack, and he recommended places to check out in town that evening and around the area. They were supposed to pick me up and drive me to the airport. When they did not show up, I called them and they said they had me scheduled on another day, but they said they would send someone right over. 50 minutes later the driver arrived and drove me to the airport. I missed my flight and could not get another flight for 2 days. What a bunch of losers. read more

Have used At Your Service for the past couple years and they've always been fantastic, from local point to point trips to several airport pickups and dropoffs, it's all been very reasonably priced with reliable and nice drivers. All their trips, to my knowledge, are flat rate (although I wish they posted a fare list somewhere online). Unfortunately they are now mandating a $10 minimum on card transactions, and because trips within Bar Harbor are less than that, you're kind of screwed unless you're carrying cash. I totally understand the realities of credit card processing fees for merchants, especially as Uber and their ilk are trying to slash into the remaining summer months' revenue (which taxi companies around here rely on to provide year-round service), but I don't know how I feel about it given that it applies basically 99% of the times I need a ride. In-town delivery seems like it'd comparatively make a killing for reliable year-round business. Regardless, I would unequivocally recommend At Your Service for any transportation needs. read more
