Located on the west side of Amarillo, Pondaseta's black brick building is sharp and modern for an older city like the Yellow City. Inside, there are two large spaces. One is where they brew all of their beers and it also functions as a space for music and guests. The main space is their taproom, where the back wall features a row of taps with all of their in house beers. There was a duo playing music in the other room, and there was a few other groups there. We played a very competitive game of Go Fish and really enjoyed the space there. For my first beer, I ordered the Mind The Gap, which was a bitter in an English pub style. I love a malty beer and it reminded me of some of my favorites. My girlfriend got a Pecan Porter that she really liked. It was dark and roasty. My next beer was their Tea Pilsner, which I never knew was a style of beer. This one was infused with hibiscus tea and I thought it was good. My girlfriend got their cherry lime seltzer. There were 2 tour buses when we arrived and it looked like we just missed the crowd at check-in. The front desk folks were an epitome of Texas hospitality. Friendly, laid back and the ladies just made us feel so welcome. We were given 3 drink coupons each for kickback hour. Our 2 queen room on the 2nd floor didn't have much of a view but it was homey and quiet. Kickback hour was busy but staff were surprisingly very accommodating. Their margaritas will give you a buzz. They have hot food items, soup and a salad for the complimentary light dinner. For those that have not stayed at a Drury Inn before, the kickback hour is similar to Embassy Suites' evening reception, but WAY better. We slept surprisingly well, considering the hotel's proximity to the highway. We had no problems with the ac either. Breakfast was better than your typical hotel breakfast with a bunch of options. We did not get to use the other facilities because we had to head out early. This was our first time staying at a Drury property. I'm normally a Hilton and Marriott girl but I'll definitely choose Drury if there is one available in my future destinations. We also appreciate the military discount they offer. I was scared when we first pulled in, as the Motel 6 clients were sketchy. The Motel 6 is next door and shares a parking lot. It also has an odd "front" door. However, once inside, I felt better. Michelle was the woman who checked us in and was super friendly and bubbly. We had been in the car for 12 hours, and it was nice to have someone so outgoing. Once in the room, it was clean and the kitchen area was way more than we needed for a night. The hallways are wide and bright. The bathroom was clean and I enjoyed the products provided. The AC kept the room comfortable. The queen beds had four pillows and were clean and comfortable. The breakfast had warm items, and the staff were friendly as well. I wish I had more time to use the gym or pool, but both looked clean. The parking lot was bright, and I was told they do have security at night to watch. We had a ton of stuff in our car and didn't want to unpack it all. The front desk area also has a small shop with drinks, snacks, and some frozen foods. On the other side is an old Hampton Inn. They have rebranded it as Spark by Hilton, and I still stayed at the Marriott. Overall, it was a pleasant night. I will keep Towneplace on my radar moving forward.

Since they didn't care that I bled outside I walked around inside and again no one even said "hey! You're bleeding". I made sure not to get blood on anything cause that would have been wrong on my part. Anyway, I asked the dressing room attendant if there was a restroom I could use to clean myself up cause I fell and hurt myself. His only question was did I fall inside or outside the store. That's why I gave the low review..... and the selection isn't great. Anyway, it was just a bad experience. I'm sad about the people who passed me sitting on the ground not concerned either. I don't know if they thought I was homeless or what but that's a pretty bad way to treat a homeless person. I don't think that was the case since I was wearing a dress and had an iPhone sitting next to me.
