I went here and played some games and sang some karaoke.. I did not drink or eat anything but the vibe was great. I had a good time. I can not comment on the quality of the food or drinks however. I was greeted quickly when asking for water. Everyone was polite and friendly.

Loved this place so much! Went with a group of friends to dance and everyone was so friendly and helpful about teaching us the dance moves. On Saturday they do a lesson from 8-9 and I strongly encourage doing this because it really is so much fun! I cannot wait to go back!

The Bike Night shooting and brawl says it all. Not a safe place to bring your family. Service slow. Food not good. Ambiance threatening.

This place was not welcoming and had terrible service. The food was also not good or worth the price.

Our travels took us to The Groggy Frog and we were thrilled we took the hour drive in the snow. Service: Prompt, Authentic, Laid Back - no corporate pieces of flare (thank goodness). Atmosphere: you had me at hello. Dive bar, watering hole, where everyone goes vibe. Small. Unique. They definitely do not make them like this anymore. Great music and bar noise. Rustic wood. High tops all around. Fantastic. The wings: so far the best hidden gem we have found. Way better than others in Southington I have previously visited and reviewed. Tons of flavors. They also offer wings in 5's, so, if you're like us and want to try a few sauces - you're in a great position until you find your go-to's. We ordered: hot buffalo, buffalo blue, chipotle honey horseradish, teriyaki wasabi, and an order of their fried shrimp tossed in hot buffalo. All hot, crispy, excellent. While all the sauces were good, the hot buffalo and chipotle honey horseradish make the cut for our next visit. We can't wait to be back and try 3-4 other sauces with the 2 we've fallen in love with. Note: I love the blue cheese dressing at places as much as the wings. I have noticed the wing places in Southington serve a thicker (almost spreadable) homemade blue cheese. It was excellent. But because of its thickness, we went through a lot. And, as you may read in my other reviews, I hate the 2oz soufflé cups in a wing place. 4oz minimum please. Only thing I've learned to do better next time - ask for tons of extra napkins. I prefer when they're either stored on the table, or better, have paper towel rolls on the tables at the elite wing joints.

I typically try to find the good in everything but unfortunately I cannot provide a good review. 1.) There is no identified parking at this place. It's in an odd place and parking is only available on half of a side street. 2.) There were so many leaks happening in this place! Buckets were everywhere and water was dripping on us. We moved our table twice. It was a hazard for sure as another spot started pouring and the staff didn't put a bucket after being told about it. 3) The heat was off and even the bartender was wearing a coat to keep warm. 4.) The bartender approached me and asked what I would like to drink but totally ignored my friend which was odd. Then when he finally got his order in, she gave him a beer instead of the soda he requested. 5.) The pool table is free which is cool but at the same time it's not level and the balls shift all to one side. The tables are super old. 6.) The place is run down and there were old Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee and other garbage in places. 7.) We ordered nachos which were beyond basic that took over 45 minutes for us to get! When we checked in as to why it was taking so long (we were the only customers there) we were told that the cook was upset that someone dirtied the matts that he cleaned outside. So, he had to take care of that before our order. umm what ?? I've never heard this before. 8.) overall service was poor, the wait really shouldn't be that long. Again we were the only ones there at 1pm in the afternoon. We had to leave after spending an hour and 20 minutes there. It seems more like a place to go when you only want a few beers. Wouldn't recommend or ever go again.

The mule is definitely my favorite drink here, it's been made perfectly each time I had it. We had a big group, so we ordered a variety of bar bites and I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of all the food. Especially the garlic bread, wow!!! It was piping hot, fresh and fluffy and just perfect. The host for trivia did a fantastic job and created a super fun event for us. The questions were general-knowledge enough that mostly anyone could have participated. Somehow our team won and the prizes were so fun!! More people need to know about this place!!

I used to go down the street, but the music selection there changed. For those of you frequent to Southington, Spelunkers took over the old Dial 9 speakeasy location. It's a competitive food area and I didn't know what to expect. I'm happy to say that for being marketed as strictly a dive bar, Spelunkers hit all the marks and some. It also was surprisingly large inside compared to what it looked like from the outside (Which was great because some of the other bars nearby are cramped). Their burgers were good and my friends felt the same way about the food that they ordered as wll. They have ample seating (and a variety of it) as well as a pool table and some arcade games to do while listening to music. Prices for drinks were also fair. The interaction that I had with staff, although brief was very friendly. The band they had that night was excellent. Glad I came to see them. They played an eclectic mix of both genres and decades. They were energetic, their song choice were great and they were refreshing to see compared to the typical Southington fare. If they come back to Spelunkers, I'll free my schedule up to come and see. Been watching the socials . Happy to have a fun bar experience again around here and look forward to my next trip.

You can express joy here. I moved away in the '80s but when I'm back in CT to visit family I usually stop by there (which I still refer to as "The New Chez EST") at least once. I had an insane amount of fun one theme night I happened to show up for recently. May the Chez ever thrive. Hartford needs it.

"Kind of a drag When your baby don't love you"…read more(The Buckinghams) When one of your closest friends invites you to a drag show, you step out of your comfort zone and go! That's what eight of us did today as we headed over to Chez Est for a 90's themed "Brunch in Heels" featuring Loosey Laduca's crew of three singing and dancing drag queens. Loosey was the emcee, had an entertaining patter throughout the show, introduced the performers, and gave a stirring rendition of "the greatest song of the 90's" - My Heart will Go On from Titanic. So what other songs did we hear as the performers danced, did some bone cracking splits, strutted around the stage, and worked the crowd for tips? We heard Lady Marmalade by Li'l Kim, Lose My Breath by Destiny's Child, Let's Get Loud by J Lo, Barbie Girl by Aqua, Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite, Donatella by Lady Gaga, and Shoop by Salt-N-Pepa. We even heard a medley of 90's kiddie TV shows including Animaniacs and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The show was very entertaining and included an audience participation segment where birthday boys and girls crashed the stage for a dance-off and a beer chugging competition. Oh, and we also had brunch there -the food menu is very reasonable and ranged from $8 to $12 a plate for eggs, waffles, breakfast tacos and the like. Eight of us ate and drank for $300 including tip. That doesn't include the scores of singles we spent tipping the entertainers. I thought the staff at Chez Est was very accommodating and helped us move and consolidate our two tables so we had a better view of the stage. But even if you sit way in the back, the entertainers strut their stuff throughout the premises to hit every table, and there are a few strategically placed flat screens on the walls showing the stage action. It was quite a fun time.
