In terms of Toby's Pet Services, my hubbs found them on the well-known neighborhood app and we reached out. We were able to schedule an appointment relatively quickly. I scheduled for a Monday and they reached out Saturday because of a hole in their schedule the following morning. I agreed to the time and they showed up on-time (actually about 15 minutes early). The groomer was friendly and he took great care of my ladies. The day after the service, I received a "report" with before and after pics, which I thought was a great touch. (Think: the old school before-and-after Nutrisystem ads lol) Considering the time savings (making an appointment, getting into the car, waiting hours for them to be ready, wrangling the dogs out of the location), the cost is justified. Truth be told, it works out to be about the same price with the convenience of the technician picking up your dog from the front door. I will definitely book again!

Got my pet examined. The people were nice but you could tell our situation was run-of-the-mill for…read morethem, you know? They basically were kinda dry, but I did find the assistant the vet was with very kind. Long curly hair. Very sweet woman. My main qualm was that I was quoted upwards of 4k$ in surgeries. I was a bit gob smacked at the price. I then went to another vet, Clay Road Animal Clinic (a place known for being fair and realistic) and was quoted $550 for the same surgery, and they explained in detail what could be expected. My dog also generally enjoyed their presence more, which I do take into account. They also took more steps to know about what was going on internally, suggesting x-rays, which was very affordable in comparison to elsewhere. While at this Alvin clinic it was more so like a shrugging their shoulders reaction, like what do ya want me to do about it from here. This vet isn't bad by any means, but just not for me. Too expensive for at best average care. And in daunting situations, while of course they are more than willing and upfront to work within your price range, sometimes things are scary and people don't know the next steps and need these things more broken down for them. All I left with after this vet was a printed out information google webpage, and an attempt to upsell (in my opinion) on vaccines. Like I said, just not for me.
