I'm not sure why Café Ciboulette is so popular on Yelp. It's a small café with very few food offerings, a modest drink menu, and nothing that really seemed to stand out. What was good: The café is comfortable if not impressive with its décor. The sole employee working the day we visited seemed nice. The other customers waiting for their orders were quite talkative and this made for a warm, community-spirited environment. What was not-so-good: My partner and I both ordered crepes for breakfast. I ordered turkey, he ordered ham. They took a very long time to come out and, as we were warned, came out one at a time because they only have one cooking surface for them. We both ended up with ham, but as I didn't want to wait another 15 minutes for a redo, I just ate it. We liked the taste of the crepe dough, though they both were pretty crunchy - perhaps a bit over cooked. There was nothing special about these crepes. They were deli ham, cheese, and crepe, nothing else. In both, the cheese was only partially melted and the crepes came out warm but not hot. My chai latte was equally meh. What a hidden gem. I debated writing a review because the quiet ambiance is definitely a breath of fresh air, but it was too good not to share. The menu is full of delicious options and I plan to come back and try a waffle or crepe in the coming days. Today I had the best panini I've ever had. I know a panini doesn't sound like much, but the intentionality behind making it from the salt and pepper sprinkled over the veggies to the perfectly toasted bread to the beautiful presentation (I could go on and on). You order your food at the counter and then it's brought out to your table. I believe everything is made on the spot, because it did take a bit for the food to come out, but it was definitely worth it. Highly recommend if you want to catch up with some friends, go out to study, or want to eat really good pastries. Wow! You will love this place. We went around 9:00 on a Sunday morning and it was quiet with no wait. Only a couple people sitting around the store. You walk in, order at the front, then sit down and they'll bring you your food and drink. We waited about 15 minutes for food to come out. The blueberry lemon curd crepe was AMAZING! Not too sweet and filled with fresh blueberries. The coffee was great and the egg/cheese crepe was also really good. It's a quiet store with low chatter. Plenty of parking as well. Genuine French café. Good for just a coffee or a full meal of salmon & spinach omelet. Excellent. It's in a strip mall on Alameda but a panoramic view of the mountains makes up for it completely. Very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended. Wanted to add: The proprietor explained that all is made from scratch. The crepe may take ten minutes but is terrific, unlike a 30-sec nuke of outside sourced grub of unknown quality like many places... This isn't a fast food cafe and that's a good thing. I just found this quite nice atmosphere place. For the handicapped it is easy to get in. The owner and his help staff are friendly and quick. The quiche is great. So fresh and flavorful. Im low maintenace, but had to do a review kb this. Not the friendliest staff, but Novo coffee is ok. Asked if they had a cold brew, got a blank stare as a response, and finally a "yeah". Ask for the largest one available, get another blank stare, then "we only have one size". Cool, sure my questions might sound dumb to someone working there.....but put the drink on the MENU and I wouldn't have to ask dumb questions, that get minimal response. Lovely cafe to visit on our slow starting Saturday morning. We decided we wanted to switch up our usual American style breakfast for some delicious crepes and quiche. Their located in a modest strip mall, but once you step into the restaurant, you're welcomed by the comforting atmosphere and warm hospitality. There is a big variety of quiches and sweet or savory crepes so it was hard to choose since several of them sparked my appetite. I decided to order the Blueberry Lemon Curd crepe and Louisiana Quiche. The crepe was delicious- light, fluffy, and stuffed with lots of blueberries and lemon curd drizzled on top. I prefer my crepes to not be overwhelmingly sweet and this was heaven for me. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. The quiche was great too. The ingredients inside were fresh and there was a nice crisp on the top. I enjoyed every bit of the sausage, red pepper and egg.. I had a small conversation with the owner and he was a really nice guy who takes pride in his food.
