You have a choice of all condiments. Everything is freshly made the day of. Obviously it will taste a bit like a sandwich you might make at home, but if you don't have time to make yourself a lunch or if you need a quick bite in between classes/work this is a place to try out! But for once, Mom's dessert was not the main event. I had my own order. My mini cone was made with vegan vanilla ice cream and topped with blueberries and a dog biscuit. Please understand that I have spent much of this trip sitting politely beside restaurant tables while the humans consume increasingly elaborate meals. So when someone handed me an ice cream cone specifically designed for dogs, I had feelings. Strong feelings. I ate it. I investigated the remaining cone. I made sure nothing had fallen on the ground. I informed him that what he made was not what I wanted, so my ordered was automatically transferred to another, much less patient and less pleasant barista, who proceeded to obstinately fill my americano with ice cubes, despite my pleading not to. I ended up taking another piping hot americano, so I asked for a glass of water and went ahead and prepared my drink myself. The prices of the drinks are fair and the options are pretty straight forward for your standard coffee and tea drinks. They do offer some smoothies if you're not wanting anything caffeinated. They also have a few treats to eat if you're wanting a bite. There is a small seating area with various tables and chairs though the day we went, it was very busy and we had to basically pounce on people leaving. Many folks who don't buy drinks are also sitting around as it's not specifically for this place. I do wish there were some wipes to clean down the tables, but good thing I had some Purell wipes in my bag. We ordered a mocha and it was actually not bad at all considering it's a mall coffee spot. I feel like they did use a syrup to flavor but perhaps that's why it was good. A lot of other legitimate coffee places end up using real chocolate and pretty dark which my bf doesn't like bitter unsweet drinks. So this actually hit a happy medium. It's decent sized place, good for individual and group seating and even a small view of the city of Montreal if one gets a corner seat. Depending on the hour of the day, this Deli can serve up a real decent helping of good food. My favorite time happens to be breakfast, which is only served from 4:30AM-11:00AM. They also have some killer lox and salami for bagels and sandwiches. Problem is, eating here is not cheap but then again nothing is about the Casino de Montreal. Another thing to note is that the place is 24 hours. Most diners / cafes in casinos are also 24 hours, but in the wee hours of the night this place is dead and limited to only made-to-order food. In fact I took just that with an orange juice and potatoes which was the special breakfast that cost just $4.99 from Monday to Wednesday. Added a good cafe latte (they also have espresso and cappuccino) a rare feast in a regular breakfast place. Service is convivial and fast. All in all I recommend the place and I'll be back!
