I had the Baked goat cheese salad - spinach, lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes - and my wife had the replay salad with pear slices + walnuts. Both were very good. We also split the smoked chicken+avocado open face sandwich. Very tasty! Topped it off with a slice of the banana crème/caramel pie/tort/something! Super creamy and delish! Solid choice to get away from the run of the mill tourist restaurants all over Old Town. I felt like I was walking into a chic restaurant in any major city. We chose to sit indoors as it was a chilly day, but we're seated by the front windows so we got a bird's eye view of the locals seated outside. Super fun to people watch and get a taste for some cultural differences. Food was really quite good. I ordered the frisée salad appetizer, which was a perfectly sized meal for one. Divine! My daughter ordered the salmon toast, and loved it. We saw other diners enjoying the avocado toast, which also looked delicious. They had some interesting cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks as well. The one warning I will reiterate for tourists is that I had read other reviews about the servers bringing bread to the table and then charging for it, and that is absolutely true. An adorable server tried to drop off a basket of bread, and was fairly insistent about trying to leave it at the table despite our refusal. read more

This place has lots of seating outside so it was perfect place to sit and eat lunch while people watching. We noticed many locals were dining here which was nice to get away from other tourists. Our tuna salad was very fresh and it was full of flavor. We ordered a small size but quickly regretted not getting the large because it was so good. The open faced ham and cheese was just ok. The bread was smothered in thick layer of mayo which I didn't cared for but my friend seemed to savor every bite. Service was excellent and location and the atmosphere were perfect. read more

We came in around 6pm, not expecting it to be very busy but it was packed! The staff's English was a bit limited but communication was not difficult. We were seated after about 15 minutes of waiting and were brought waters right away. I ordered the berry cheesecake which blew my mind! Very moist and sweet, literally perfect. Me and 4 friends came here for dinner on our first night in Prague. A friend of mine has been living in Prague for the past year and brought us here. It is a very nice restaurant with a great ambiance. There were not many tourists in the restaurant and two locals had brought there dogs inside the restaurant with them. I think this is a common thing in Prague. It is also common to see many people smoking in restaurants in Prague. We ordered the baked mozzarella with parma ham as an appetizer and it was delicious. For the main course I ordered the beef tenderloin with potatoes. The beef was cooked medium just as requested and was very tender. My friend ordered the chicken skewers with teriyaki sauce baked potatoes and bacon. The bacon was delicious! We were too full for desert, but they had a great selection to choose from. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Prague. read more

Omg the desserts here are so good!!!! I am in love! I ordered the cacao cake and it was Devine! It was a large tall piece, but it was creamy and not too sweet. I should have read reviews more carefully. Before going in I thought this place was a hipster cafe, with wide open space and wooden tables, quirky baristas, indie pop playlist etc. NOOOOO Located in tourist central, this cafe is more like a lounge/salon. Music is loud and dress code is not casual. On the day I went they didn't have a table for me except in the smoking section and I said that was fine. As I opened the food menu I almost wanted to leave because the offerings looked very generic - just some soups, salads and sandwiches (where is my avocado toast baby). But I decided to stay nonetheless since my 6 hour train ride was freaking exhausting. I got baked aubergine and a small shrimp salad. It took those dishes forever to come but after they did... OMG so good. Such wonderful flavors. Dressing in salad is good. Prawns are warm. Baked aubergine is cheesy hmm. Waiter speaks good English and is very polite. However there are downsides too. - They charged me for bread even though 1) I didn't ask for it and 2) I only had one bite of the big basket of bread. - As I said food is slow. - Hostess is arrogant. - White wine is watered down. - The harlequin cake I had was decadent for sure but almost a bit too much. I went for the cheesecake. Best cheesecake I've ever had! It's not like American cheesecake, it's very light and fluffy, the crust is made of very good cookie crumbs, and the raspberry topping is a bit gelatinous - balancing out the sweetness. One of our party noted that we must be in a more upscale part of town. Wait staff was professional and service of food was quick. I had the big breakfast which could have fed two light eaters. One of my favourite cafes in Prague. Nice decor (way better than the majority of Czech cafes), tasty food and good service (you don't get that often in CR). I especially enjoy their scrambled eggs for breakfast. They also have some of the best sweets/cakes someone can find in Prague (extra + for the cheese cake). Such an awesome cafe! Great wait staff, friendly and spoke English. A great spot to feel more like a local as it is a little farther from the bridge and square. We had visited this place last week. At the outset this place looked good. We waited for sometime to be seated and then finally when we got our seat no one serviced us for about 20 minutes. We kept calling the servers but they kept turning a blind eye to us. We thought that may be they were just rude. But , we were aghast when we saw them catering to other customers ( all whites ) while not paying any attention to us. Finally one server came to our desk and was rude and disinterested. The rating doesn't reflect reality as lots of Indians who have never been to Prague are giving bad reviews because some Bollywood "celebrity" came here a couple of days ago and wasn't immediately served, and was upset that he had to wait his turn. He pulled the "Do you know who I am?" line, and they told him "um, no, we don't". So the crybaby posted all over Indian social media that they're racist because they wouldn't kiss his ass, since he's a celebrity in India. So now a bunch of Indian losers who have never even been in Europe are giving bad reviews. Anyway, this place is a bit ritzy, but popular with locals. read more

This is without a doubt a 5 star cafe. The cakes are the best in the city, and I have tried numerous places, as I visit Prague regularly. The decor is chic. I believe the reason many Czechs May not like it there is they feel pretentious people frequent the establishment. May be true but if pretentious people bother you then aren't you the one who is actually being pretentious? :) To sum it up great salads great coffee amazing cakes and lovely outdoor seating in warm weather. If there is a wait to get in the line moves fast and I suggest waiting as you will not find a better place. Good stop for lunch near old town! Oh and fyi, the chicken broth is actually a super good chicken noodle soup. We also loved the proscuitto over mozz and bread, with incredible pesto on the bottom. Ended up paying separately because of a friend's request (which they were willing to split the check, thankfully). Cafe-cafe is one of my favorite cafes in the city. It's a combination of a stylish restaurant and a cozy cafe, which serves delicious cakes. It has an amazing interior design, fantastic centralized location; delicious food and a great atmosphere which is trendy. It's a mainstream popular place among those who are willing to spend about 250 kc on their quick food grab. The place is full of beautiful and stylish people. Personally, I haven't found another restaurant yet in Prague which would be similar to Cafe-Cafe in terms of design and quality of food. However, it must be mentioned that sometimes service is bad (waiters are slow and arrogant). The only reason why I don't go there frequently is because I'm uncomfortable while begin served by these waiters. read more

This is a place to see and be seen. People tend to stroll around at the restaurant. But never the less, a place with a nice atmosphere and a restaurant with character and feel of a luxury eatery at fair prices and a fully relaxed atmosphere at the same time. Food was in general in last 15 years excellent, but at the last two years declining. The excellent Cesar salads went into a stripped cry from what it was five years ago. Staff is very friendly and helpful sometimes. But sometimes typical Prague center indifference rude, ignoring behavior unfortunately occurs. Especially if you as an individual coming to dinner. (not welcome sins you occupy a complete table) Once a waiter threw over a glass of wine with me, without any form of apology or attempt to clean up the mess. But it also happened that I when I left, I did forgot my wallet with substantial amount of money and I was followed by a waiter for more than a kilometer to give me back my wallet. There were unpleasant incidents at my circa 40 visits. But generally, the staff is kind, nice atmosphere and food / drinks are ok. read more

We came here two mornings in a row and would definitely come back again if we were here longer! Best breakfast we've had in Europe, both quality and value! Firstly, the service was great - the waiters both days we came we're very hospitable and polite, which is very refreshing as we haven't found the serve across Europe to be too good. Now for food, if you're hungry then I definitely recommend the big breakfast! It is the best value for money, and the food is absolutely delicious! For 210kc (which is about $12 Australian) you receive: - coffee/tea: I got the iced latte and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best coffees I've ever had - the cold froth was so creamy and delicious! - freshly pressed juice: I got apple and my friend carrot - simply delicious - a bread basket with a large selection of breads and olive oil: set beside the table on its own little side table - main plate of 1 egg, 2 sausages, 3 bacon rashers, home made baked beans, cherry tomatoes and a rocket salad - the baked beans sauce was to die for - small fruit salad: strawberry, banana, nectarine, watermelon, pineapple, apple - ham/cheese toasted croissant: fresh and delicious, they bring this out after your main plate so it doesn't go cold - cake of the day piece: marmalade cheesecake which was delicious, and the second time, Apple crumble slice!
