I found this location a few blocks away from where I live. Apparently there is a cafe pizzeria side and a restaurant side with a similar name. Came in during the day when it was slow, so it was a bad time to come since you normally get a slice from the pies that have been hanging around throughout the day. People are friendly and the service is attentive. The place on the inside does look like it's been around forever but you'll never know that from the outside. Pizza was decent, specially the grandma slice. But the cheese on one of the slices reminded me of the cheese you find on a pie from Dominos. You know exactly what I'm talking about. Prices are steep, pepperoni slice, grandma slice, can of soda is around $10. The prices on the wall seem to be blacked out and no menu in sight. I wanna say thats done on purpose due to price of goods constantly fluctuating but that's just my opinion. Based on the experience three stars at best. read more

Got take-out here for the first time. Sicilian pie was heavy and bland. Chicken parm pizza was not very good- chicken was chewy. Eggplant parm sandwich tasted like soap so it went right in the garbage. Spent $67 on mediocre food. Probably won't go back. Much better options nearby. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful- wish the food had been better. read more

Food is fine, pizza is fine, service is fine. But prices are way out of line with local places. $4.75 for a small slice of sausage pizza and the same price for a slice of Sicilian. Far better and less expensive options in the area. read more

Figaro's has great pizza and Italian dishes. Their margherita slices compare to those in NYC and are definitely the best in the area (trust me, I've tried every local slice). Pizza sauce is perfect, mozz and basil are fresh. And most importantly: sauce to cheese ratio is always spot on. A lot of people don't know that they also make small and medium pies. They're one of the few places in the area that do this and it's awesome! Other than pizza I can say that the soups they make are better than most Italian places nearby (minestrone is my personal favorite along with pasta fagioli). The penne vodka and baked ziti are both great. Would also recommend the Chicken francaise. Servings are generous, entrees come with pasta, salad and usually bread. Service is always so friendly! Year ago we received a gift card for this restaurant and Pizzera. We found our eating at pizzeria side you will save some cash person . Today I had their white pizza pie for 19 bucks that was pretty good for regular pizza joint in nj , they had a menu that range for meals from 19 to 26 bucks a person and I seen people bring in their own bottles of win but they serve beer on tap too. Staff was easy to deal with and turn around time for my pie was about 15 minutes and the place is super clean . If you chose to eat in the fancy restaurant side expect the same food at 1/3 higher prices . read more

Only had 1 pizza from this place; cheese pan pizza - was really good Place doesn't wow you from the inside or outside, its a pretty standard pizza joint. The pizza however that we got was really good. Great quality cheese and sauce with a good bake on the crust. Definitely will come back to try their hand tossed pizzas and toppings. A nice neighborhood joint. A casual side and a more formal dining room. We stopped in last month. A very busy place. Good pizzas, pastas, the entrees you find all over. I had Chicken Scarpiello. Tasty. A couple of glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. Some wonky service. My wife was offered cracked pepper and grated cheese for her linguine and clam sauce mid way through the meal. I was told a special request of roasted potatoes was unavailable after I had eaten most of my meal. Odd. Friendly, albeit harried service, good food, convenient to our home in Berkeley Heights. Over priced for what it is.The veal was salty and not worth the price. The Bolagnese was way to spicy to eat. Maybe the Pizza would have been better. But that part of the restaurant was crowded and very noisy. The dining room was nice but not worth the trip. There are much better Italian restaurants in the area. read more

Stopped here for a quick bite after work... I wanted to try something new so I got the Louisiana sandwich (just something new I guess)... well, guess I wasn't too crazy about it... it's a chicken sandwich with hot sauce/blue cheese "dressing"... A little like buffalo chicken but with a different name I guess... I think next time I might stick with the original chicken/eggplant parm instead... :) other than that, the restaurant is cute!! Staffs are very nice and courteous with their customers (either you are doing sit-in dinning or take out) you will be treated very nicely.. will definitely go back again!! read more

Italian comfort food two ways: slices & calzones from the counter on the right side of the house; traditional red-sauce entrees with table service on the left side of the house. Full bar service both sides with good draft beer! Absolutely nothing gourmet about the food at Cafe Figaro, but very friendly people and quick service, even outdoor tables, definitely A-OK. Offers 4 taps, pints $5.50 each: Coors light, Yuengling, Stella Artois and Spaten. Now I don't mind paying that for a glass of fine German beer, but it's outrageous for the old silver bullet :) Light on selection but reasonable prices at the bar: cocktails $9, martinis $11, wines by the glass $7. We walked in to the casual side, spotted slices at the counter, ordered there, they brought the food out when it was hot which took almost zero time. I got a spinach, ricotta and mozarella calzone, obviously previously baked and reheated, came with a little side of house red sauce, a decent lunch for $7. Garlic knots were a bit tough altho exceptionally garlicy in a good way. Vegetarian rating: 3 stars for the respectable selection. Obviously you can choose your own pizza toppings but also there are traditional veg entrees like eggplant parmigiana, baked manicotti and ziti Siciliano; also salads. Saw a yelper complaining about prices not matching the menu. Definitely noticed that the prices on the big board behind the counter didn't always match the printed paper menu, like cheese fries $3 vs. $4.50, so your mileage may vary here. Really this is two places in one, so interpreting those Yelpy "good for.." tips is tricky lol. Left side carpeted and quiet; right side tiled and noisy. Left side romantic, good for groups and adults; right side bare bones formica, good for kid pizza parties. And so on. read more

Tried the restaurant for the first time after hearing good recommendations. Very nice selection of appetizers and entries. All dishes were delicious and portions were satisfying. Great service and a comfortable space. They don't squeeze tables on top of each other, which seems to be the trend in a lot of places these days. Most Italian restaurants offer a simple pasta dish with sausage and broccoli rabe. It's one of my go-to choices, and I've had it in many places. Figaro's version was by far the best one I've had anywhere. The 3 other people at my table all liked their meals as well. We'll be back! read more

Stopped by while searching for somewhere to grab a quick lunch. They weren't busy at all, so I was able to get my food to go pretty quickly. I got a plain slice and a Buffalo Chicken slice. It was just okay. Nothing to write home about... Actually, the buffalo chicken is pretty bland. (I'm typing this review in between bites of it.) Maybe if they seasoned the breaded chicken cutlet, had a zestier blue cheese sause, or had hot sauce on it with more kick (and this is coming from a person who is not a fan of foods that are too spicy) it would be a lot better. The cost for both totaled $6.50. Can't say I feel it was worth it. Maybe I should have tried a sub at Quiznos just 2 doors down and would have likely spent the same amount of money. I can't say whether or not I'll be back. If I do, I won't order the Buffalo Chicken slice. It wasn't horrible, it was just not worth consuming. I'll give this place 3 stars since I only tasted 2 slices, so I want to be fair... maybe there's better food on the menu, but based on the 2 slices I'd give this place a 2. read more

From the outside, you might think it was strictly a pizza place, but its also a fantastic Italian restaurant. Its located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Inside is clean, with booths and tables to sit at. They have an alcohol license with beer, wine, and spirits. The alcohol prices are similar to what restaurants charge. The food is priced about average for restaurant prices, but it is outstanding. I've had both the eggplant parm and one of the seafood dishes - both were terrific! I haven't had the pizza or any of the sandwiches, so I can't offer an opinion on those. In nice weather, there are a few outdoor tables you can sit at. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend stopping in. read more

I read the prior reviews and I respect them but we only ordered sandwiches and they were not bad at all. Chicken parm and chicken Francese sandwiches with a beer . Both very tasty and hot . We actually enjoyed it. I'm not sure how the pizza or other dinners are but we will try them if we come back. read more

When the best thing you eat are the fries....you've got issues. I stopped in with the family and they were quite crowded on a Saturday evening. We ordered a pie and an order of fries. The pizza was hot and fresh however it had NO taste. There are sadly better places to have food in the area but we stopped here to get a quick bite. We absolutely love this place! Ask for Venne (Vinny) - he will take care of you! We prefer the tri-colour salad and the hot sandwiches rather than the pizza but it's all very well done - AND you can get a beer too. Try that at your other pizza cafe! read more

Food is very basic and portions leave much to be desired. Their specials are normally the same and all really lack a punch. The Osso Bucco was pretty good but the risotto was very dry. The chicken parmigiana is okay and their seafood dishes are well prepared but nothing extraordinary. Be careful- carefully calculate what you think your bill should be before paying. More than once they overcharged us, and claimed an innocent mistake like, "Oh, did you only get 2 sodas, I thought it was 3. Sorry." Once we realized it was a recurring "mistake", we stopped going even though we liked their food. Felt they were dishonest. read more
