I can't believe this place has been open since August and I didn't notice. Shame on this yelper!…read more I guess I was so used to this corner being empty, but now it's not! Maraschino is a cozy little corner cafe on the busy Schlachthausgasse Ubahn stop. The 77A and 80A buses as well at 18 Strassenbahn all intersect here too. If you are looking for breakfast (served til 4pm), lunch (everday a menu for 6,90 accept on weekends), coffee or cocktails, then stop in at Maraschino. I met a friend for coffee and the waitress (I think part owner as well) was incredibly nice and the coffee was great, and I also enjoyed an apple streusel.. The place was quiet and relaxing, but has potential to be a great night stop. It's not very big, but it has a smoking and non-smoking section. I look forward to going back for Happy Hour (which is daily from 5-8) or to try the lunch specials. Hooray for new business in the third!

Our waiter, tho speaking little English, was amazingly helpful and did a great job! I asked for some combination of grilled meats and left it up to him and wasn't disappointed. I have to admit I've never gone to the restaurant and have only ordered food home. However, this is…read moreby far one of the best Turkish restaurants in Vienna. I'm going to go a step further and actually claim it makes the best beyti and pide in Vienna. Regarding home delivery, it usually takes them between 30-45 minutes from moment of ordering to deliver. The delivery guys have always been very nice and friendly. Sometimes they include a pepsi can or two if your order is large and I assume it depends more on how the staff feels that day when giving out the free drinks. :) Either way, the food has always tasted delicious, seems fresh and very authentic in preparation and style. If you live in the area, I give thumbs up for ordering from here.

Sigmund Freud used to frequent this place and there are enormous paintings of Frank Joseph & Sissi. A half hour wait to get in, then you see that in Europe, coffee houses truly are places to linger. I've seen too many converts (myself included) not to guarantee you'll love it. Each time I go and look at the cakes in the glass cabinet I tell myself I'll try something new this time and I still end up with Guinness Cake. Okay, exaggeration because I can also tell you the scones are out of this world as is the white chocolate cake. There are also vegan options. Cakes are on rotation so there are always new things to try. Have also had brunch here a few times. LOVE the homemade tomato bread that is served with eggs. Love this place. Staff are amazing (customer service DOES exist in Austria if you go to the right places ;)) and I love the little things like fresh flowers on each table and the teapots and mugs. The outdoor seating is also really nice and spacious with nice fleecy blankets.
Carrot cake, espresso and lemonade.
