They were all amazing, and super fresh, that I seriously cannot pick a favorite, they were seriously sooooo good! It's rather small and doesn't have too much selection. We got 2 pecan tarts ($2.50 each) and an almond croissant ($2.60). The almond croissant was ok. It only had a thin layer of ground almond paste in it. It tasted buttery and was flakey, and tasted better than almond croissants at grocery stores like Loblaws, but I expected more from a small bakery. The pecan tarts were ok. They had little pieces of candied fruits in it, like the stuff in fruitcake. I am not a fan of fruitcake nor am I a fan of candied fruits. If you like the aforementioned items, then perhaps you will like their little twist on pecan tarts. However, if you are not a fan like me, then you might want to pass. They had date squares (another thing I don't like), scones, macarons, and some other items. Not all items have prices listed. I may return to try some macarons, especially if they are only $1 each like a previous reviewer mentioned (the price was not listed in the store). Service was nice and friendly. There are 2 bistro tables for 2 inside the bakery, but it's mostly for takeout. Lots of free parking in the strip mall parking lot.

As of June 2024, the mall was undergoing renovations, so it was not that aesthetically pleasing, but the atrium where the bakery is and another cafe/bistro is (sorry, I forgot the name of the other place) was very lovely. I got my pastry to-go though. I got the Danish that was filled with cream and topped with raspberry puree. It was $5.25. It was on the small side, but very tasty. The pastry was flakey, the cream was good and the tartness of the raspberry puree went well with the sweetness of the cream. I enjoyed the pastry. Staff were courteous. The mall is so desolate and sad especially ever since Target closed down. However, this review is not about the mall, it's about the grocery store! I love this grocery store. In the evenings they have really good deals as they mark their prepared foods down 50% off. If we're in the area right before closing, we usually score awesome deals. The store itself is not very big, but it has all the basics and even has a natural/health food section. Staff are pretty nice. There's an entrance from the street and also an entrance from the mall. As with all suburban malls, there's plenty of free parking ;)

And the Brown's IGA coffee grinder was broken on the weekend of October 27-28 2018. So we found ourselves at this particular IGA because of the price of the coffee (1 lb for $9.88! Great price for Kicking Horse coffee!!) Kudos to Laura's for possibly the best, fastest, and cleanest coffee grinder in the Kanata/Stittsville area! I was really impressed! My final thought: there was a community vibe for us for this visit. They were handing out treats for halloween - even for adults! Very welcoming, indeed! I'll have to remember to go back here.
