Here is a place we came by from a recommendation from a customer who pointed us to the local eatery/cafe/community gather place. Good variety of food and drink and they use fresh locally grown ingredients (grown in their front garden beds). Latte and coffee are a nice change from the mass corporate chain locations as they make it fresh to order. The salad was so fresh and tasty that I would eat more salad if they all tasted as good as this one. Pizzas look great and the apple crumble was warm and tasty. Looks like it's a local place to gather and they have a community hall attached where it looks like some bands play music and their is a dance floor. I ordered the breakfast wrap way past the usual breakfast time, and the chef came out from the back to say that he would whip one up for me. It was enormous and very good! The Americano coffee was very good as well. Extremely friendly staff with a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

Hidden gem in the Ottawa Valley! Only 45 minutes west of Ottawa ...makes for a lovely drive for a nice lunch or break ...great on the way to the cottage in the Calabogie area. The food is fresh, well prepared and the portions are very generous. Excellent service. They hosted our bookclub of 14 very well, the food arrived promptly and all at once and the service was excellent. We noticed they had the same manager as their previous incarnation...it served them well as the service and effeciency was still present. They have a new chef and the food and pizzas were a similiar excellent quality and variety as before. read more

This is a nice stop in cottage country if you are in need of a caffeine fix! Fresh, locally roasted coffee and breads brought in fresh from an artisan bakery in Ottawa. I just stopped in for an iced coffee which was delicious, but would like to return one day to feast on some of the fresh foods that include locally sourced ingredients and place an emphasis on healthy, whole foods. The menu seemed really inexpensive considering what you get! I'm actually sad that I wasn't in town longer as they have a pretty awesome looking live music calendar! TIP: Neat also has a mac computer with free wifi if you need internet access while you are in this (rather remote) region. read more

We wanted to like the neat cafe but unfortunately they do not have their act together. The service was brutality bad. We were ignored multiple times while sitting on the patio, they forgot our drinks, and we had to re-enter the cafe to ask for an ordered sandwich which they forgot. 1 hour to get two beers and a sandwich is too much. At least the food was good but I will not be back. read more

After re-opening with new owners, chefs, and managers, this place knocks it out of the park. The food and service are exceptional.

Stopped in for my second time in the past few weeks and had an amazing lunch.. Last visit was the Tuna Melt and soup special. Today was the John Lennon Pizza. Both were excellent. The serving staff were attentive and friendly with huge smiles which made our visit wonderful. The Mandarin carrot cake was super delicious. This cute little place is so charming! When wer opened the door we were immediately hit with the smell of fresh out of the oven peanut butter cookies. That is when we realized we were hear for more than just coffees. We enjoyed our espresso drinks (Mochas& Macchiato) as well as our peanut butter cookie, the wake up bar (similar to a seven layer bar) and chocolate and peanut butter bar (My mom calls them Chubbies). I highly recommend a stop in here for morning coffees or a pizza from the brick oven. We were really charmed by this 'Neat' little place. read more

If you were in Calabogie area for cottage, golfing, skiing adventure or visiting Calabogie Motorsports Park, Neat used to be the "must stop" place along the route back to Ottawa. Their wedges that was served with the mayonnaise sauce and the Pizza Margherita used to make you want to tell everyone about this place or even drive out to Burnstown just to eat there. I think you can tell where this is going now. Recently since the summer of 2013, somethings have been changing and unfortunately for the worst. The food isn't as good as it used to be. The wedges are okay, the pizza is good but just not as good as before. This is why, it really isn't such a "must stop" place for me anymore. On the plus side, the brownies and the coffee they serve is still superb. So sometimes it is still worth to stop by to grab a cup of Joe and a brownie to go along with it. read more
