The service for the past 5 or 6 times I have been here (all during peak periods) has been seamless, and although there isn't table service and you must order at the counter, soon after you sit down you will have your beverage and not too long after that your meal. The 'Alimentari' breakfast seems a popular choice but for almost $20 I would appreciate more than just excess servings of bacon, I think I would prefer to see another egg added to the mix or some more vegetables. It boasted lots of great Italian cheeses, cured meats, pastas, olives, sauces and oils. It's a place I would happily trade as my pantry! I tucked into my coffee which was great. I sensed a hint of hazlenut, but I hadn't ordered any syrups in my coffee. Perhaps they'd mixed my order up with someone else's but I wasn't too upset about it- the coffee was still rich and frothy. My ham and cheese croissant was also fantastic. They pastry was beautiful and flaky, clearly fresh out of the oven that morning. When I'm in the city next and in need of some breakfast, I'll definitely give the Alimentari menu and more extensive browse. It's a fantastic little spot and the service was good. The only thing I would change is that if they had one extra staff member in the mornings, they could easily make it table service which I think would add a touch more class to the place. Overall though I thought it was lovely and a nice change to the quick stop coffee and muffin places strewn throughout the city.

The Chicken was breast and was sooooo dry it was inedible. The Waffles were sweet and savoury and soggy. The eggs were undercooked with the white still runny. I would have been happy with a creamy, sweet shake (think Golden Arches style), but got something quite different. It was a bit more milky than your typical shake, and not too sweet; fresh and refreshing. It was nicely garnished with chocolate flakes and a strawberry, and had a complete Oreo floating in it to finish it off in style. In sum, it was really great. Only issue, it was a bit small-ish. Other than this, Moray Cafe is a nice place that I've visited a few times now, typically for breakfast. I've good memories of the food, but don't remember it in detail (too long ago). Next time that I'm here for Brekky I'll order a nice shake with it!

The Yumington was a sweet breakfast treat that filled the brunch craving. Coffee was excellent and worked well with brunch. Not too bitter - a Goldilocks blend, just right. The decor seems the same from all those years back. It's got a good atmosphere so why change what seems to work. As I said good as ever.

Coffee, friends, food and good times are the essences of Extraction. There are so many different places to sit and enjoy reasonably-priced coffee and food. Apart from the exquisite range of coffee, Extraction also has their amazing range of cold drip coffee plus a huge assortment of tea if that's your thing. Go and try Extraction Artisan Coffee. Verdict: The coffee is consistent and for commuters stoping enroute to the train, this is key. The menu is cute and quirky and from my experience today backs it up with the goods. Four weeks in since opening, locals have clearly adopted this new kid on the block as their own and there's already customer / barista first-name-basis relationships in action. The pork was alright, but not fantastic. All well presented and put together, but just not great to eat. We did have a great dessert though - the sizzling chocolate brownie, oh my! I'd be curious to see what the rest of their menu is like. I decided to go there for breakfast on a Sunday a while back (when my intention was just to go to Woolies and grab some milk), so I wasn't really dressed for an outing. The staff were friendly and we had our meals ordered and on the table within 20 mins. We were able to chat and relax without feeling rushed to leave and vacate, and combined with the good quality of food it made a nice end to a hectic week.
