What a find! Cannot believe it has taken so long to find…read moreit. This place is great - it has changed hands since the last review and some changes made, still praiseworthy. The family love this place including our dog. It is on Ekibin Road - there is parking out front but best to use s side street. Walk up - do the COVID check in - find a table inside or out in the backyard garden ( our preference as we take the dog) There is a dog playground at the back next to the table - most dog friendly cafe I have seen. But let's get down to what's important- coffee & food - both good. The long blacks more than passed muster and given an excellent score by the other half. The capppuccino on almond always hits the spot. Coffee is excellent. Food is also excellent - the snag varieties vary day to day so check for favorites. Good selection of vegan and GF options. Top marks!

Bare Bones coffee, 63 degree eggs and 3 types of hashbrowns made to order, what's not to like?!…read more Snag & Brown has filled the gap that Azafran left in our hearts and neighbourhood. Adding another gem to Annerley/Moorooka/Tarragindi surburban cafe landscape this place is well on it's way to becoming a brunch/breakfast favourite. We visited Subsay morning 10ish - while we had no reservation (and it happened to be Father's Day - oops) we were still seated & served quickly. Menu features many bfast faves with some twists thrown in such Banana Bread French Toast the husband ordered along with specials like the Moroccan eggs that I had. Many gluten free & vege friendly options available. Carnivores fear not maple bacon & homemade sausage varieties abound. Coffee orders were taken promptly and delivered swiftly. Bare Bones coffee FTW. We didn't try the juices or smoothie options but they did sound good. Service was great considering the business of the day. My hashbrown side order did get slightly forgotten at first - which I'm attributing to simple new staff error - but soon appeared once brought to their attention. They are open for lunch & dinners (not totally sure which mights) and wine list we are keen to go back and try that out soon.

Great find in my move to the area. It's walk ins only and neither times have I had to wait. There…read moreis inside and outside seating with the inside feeling fresh and bright. Yes I've been there twice now. Two weekends in a row around 8am. Both with friends and all trying something different from the menu. Everyone had only positive things to say, except maybe the portions were large and they shouldn't have eaten it all. If you're going for breakfast they are not going to have your typical breakfast foods. But who doesn't love a lunch style menu for breakfast. Regardless, you'll have trouble deciding what to have. It's an eclectic menu and if you prefer something on the lighter side there is a bakery onsite as well. I was told the chef likes to play around when I asked about a particular biscuit/cookie. Think red velvet biscuit with marshmallow inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful giving recommendations with regard to what might satisfy your craving when you've narrowed your decision down to two. For my part there were a lot of meals with eggs which I'm very fussy about so typically just don't choose it (makes sense ). But there were a couple I just really want to try next time and was told some accommodation could be made. Having said that the ingredients in each meal are so well thought out I would really not want to change things up. Unless it was to maybe ask for the egg on the side. Will I be back. Yes definitely, even if just for a coffee and pastry. I will try to not be so excited to eat and even take some photos.

Two visits in one day. Yep, it's not what I'd planned but let's roll with it…read more Picnic might look fairly familiar as you walk into this new Camp Hill hidey-hole. There's good reason. It's the newest member of the Venzin Group family who've delivered Brisbane the likes of Green Papaya and Pawpaw Cafe. In fact, interior wise, you'll feel right at home and wonder if you're in a Pawpaw transplant. You're not although there's touches that keep it familiar. One such touch is executive chef Rory Doyle who's graces in the menu are clear. There's hearty and non-traditional breakfast menu items that all let you select breakfast and a coffee for under $20. Then there's familiar lunch items like the Picnic Burger (this had sold out by the time I headed back for lunch at 12:20pm) and gnocchi. I had the pumpkin gnocchi which was light and filling. It's good quality and again under $20 with a drink. I was pumped for time when I stopped in on my way to meetings this morning so opted for the fruit toast and a coffee. The fruit toast is the lightest I've ever tasted. It really is a fruit brioche. Paired with a light layer of Pepe Saya butter - delicious! Coffee is, as with Pawpaw, Campos but the team are consistently good baristas so the quality remains high. Like Pawpaw there was a steady flow of people and already they're experiencing weekend lines as people trek to taste the new venture. Service is fast, but done well. Granted, I visited on a Thursday but still both visits had at least several other diners in at the same time. For all the similarities, this isn't Pawpaw. It is its own cafe in its own right. Today was the first of many visits I think, and I'm looking forward to see how Picnic grows into it's name and space.
