They offer date night specials (2 dinners, 2 drinks, dessert, and 2 movie tickets to Edwards next door for $35), an early bird special (2 dinners, 2 drinks, and fried ice cream for $15 from 4-6), but my favorite is the Thursday special (the burrito and drink for $6). It is not the most amazing food but it is good, consistent, and can be a decent value. We tried bringing the kids, but didn't find the kids meals to be as good of a value/deal as we would get at a chain restaurant (Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, or Red Robin). read more

Just alright. Ordered the burrito supreme with sweet pork. Wasn't impressed with the sweet pork at all. Guess I will stick with Cafe Rio for my sweet pork fixes. Wife had chipotle burrito. We were in there last night with our 2 year old daughter. It didn't take long for us to be seated. But it took us roughly 20 minutes before someone came to take even our drink order. That was only after we got a severs attention, then it turned out she was our server. Though she didn't know we were her table. Which is a miscommunication between those in charge of assigning tables. Then once we got our frozen margaritas. They we only half frozen. They didn't taste right. Tonight my husband and I went to Cafe Sabor and had a horrible experience. To start out the evening we ordered a carafe of margaritas. (The menu said serves 2). The waitress brought us each our own. simple mistake I guess but they are $18 a piece so you would think the waitress would've had a clue when she rang up 2 for the two of us. When the food came it was fine and warm. Saw the waitress once for a second and asked for more salsa. She didn't really come back again. We never got a refill on water. I ate one of my enchiladas with salsa and when I went to eat the other one I realized it wasn't very flavor-able. It had no enchilada sauce. I know lots of restaurants make food differently so I asked if it was supposed to be that way. She responded by saying 'oh you're right. Let me see about getting it fixed.' She then took the plate and the kitchen threw a cold scoop of enchilada sauce right on top of the already cooked enchilada. No more cheese, or heating up or anything. And really no apology. No comp or a new meal or dessert or apology or even more water! I threw it in a box and paid the bill and left. So disappointing. We won't be heading back soon. read more

I haven't heard a lot about this place. But one person I talked to said it was good. The decor is goodm it looks like a little Mexican town from the old movies. Their menu isn't as big as I expected. It still had a good assortment. The person who seats you, he and I got our exercise in. We walked around half the resturaunt to have me seated about 40 feet from where I stood. The waitress definately left something to be desired. I got the feeling that she didn't want to be here. She wanted to know what I wanted to eat BEFORE I ordered my drink. Then she finally told me her name, and that she would be my server. I told her want I wanted: soft shell taco with Sweet Pork, enchilada with shredded beef, and a chili Rellano (which is about $4 extra). And no beans. I also got a Pina colada lemonade. The taco was good, the enchilada was a little disappointing. It had a little flavor, but not a lot. The Rellano was interesting. It had some kick, BUT it had the seeds. I dont know about you, but I have never had a Chile Rellano with the seeds still in it. The chips were bland, but the salsa was spicy, in a good way. The lemonade was not what I expected. I was expecting a pina colada flavor, I couldn't taste it. It was just lemonade. Nothing special about it. My plate came with those Beans I requested to be removed. It wasn't busy, there is NO EXCUSE unless the server didn't put it down. Even then, no excuse. She should have asked if she wasn't sure. When I got my food, she didn't ask if there was anything else she could get, or how every thing looked. She took off. I only saw her once after that before the check. I pointed it out and she said "I can get a plate for you so you can scrape it off. " No, I expected you to fix it, not have me scrape it off. In conclusion, I would NOT recommend this place. The food was average, the price was a little high for what you get. And, the service was garbage. read more

I had a great meal! I ordered the chicken fajitas and it came out on two mounding plates. It was not over seasoned or over salted and the portion was massive! I ate outside and the wait staff was a little slow to start but once they knew I was out there, they refreshed water, topped off my soda, got me more chips and salsa. The prices were good as well. Food used to be a lot better, seems as if they are cutting corners now (E.g. they used to use two tortillas for their tacos, it's now one and they fall apart). Also, the service is trash, absolute garbage...went on a Thursday evening and we waited 15 minutes for chips and salsa, another 10 minutes for drinks. Adding fuel to the fire, we intended on using gift cards we received for Christmas but their system was down...they didn't offer anything to remedy the issue just gave us our cards back. The online menu was tempting so I decided to try this place out. I ordered the shrimp ceviche as an appetizer and it was delicious. Just the right blend of lime so it was not overpowering. There are some really bland Mexican restaurants in Idaho Falls, but this one is pretty good. Friendly service, decent salsa and great guacamole. Also one of the few places around to get a vegetarian burrito without going off the menu. It even comes with no dairy for the vegans out there. Overall, great casual place to eat. read more

This used to be my go-to place because I loved the shredded beef. The last 2 times I went, the shredded beef had a sweet/almost BBQ sauce with it. I went here for the first time and really liked it. They have a great date night special on Friday and Saturdays. The spinach dip appetizer is so delicious. This is literally the greatest Mexican cuisine I have ever tasted when you walk in you are instantly hit with the aroma of great food on known to man the chips are brought out warm and the salsa has just the right spice they are always willing to help you with all of your wants they have a brand new blue bird outlet the chocolates melt in your mouth they have new menus with a delicious wraps and 7 layer dip the wraps come with the delicious masa fries I eat there at least twice a week the flaming banana foster is made table side and it the coolest thing you will ever see the flames are breath taking I love getting it and the end of my dinner, it is the best way to end the night. on your way out everyone is thinking you for coming in I can't recommend Cafe Sabor enough if you haven't gone I would highly recommend it they always have fun festive decorations for the holidays read more

One of our favorite dishes is the Malay which is a kind of unsweetened chocolate sauce that is very authentic Mexican. Definitely worth trying if you want to expand your boundaries. Color me unimpressed. Their only redeeming quality is the guacamole it's delicious but DEFINITELY overpriced. Now to my main course. I ordered a steak fajita burrito. The first thing I noticed was an overabundance of onion. Very little in the way of peppers and zucchini which was supposed to be in the burrito. The steak in tho burrito was flavorless, grisly, tough, and stringy. My brother ordered their zesty lime pasta he stated that it was blah. My sister in law ordered a sweet pork enchilada and tamale. She said that the pork was WAY too sweet and the tamale was blah. We also ordered a fried ice cream. It's not fried at all! It's sprinkled with a cinnamon flavored coating and drowned in caramel and Hershey's chocolate syrup. Also it was as solid as a rock and so cold it hurt to eat it.
