Tried them again after a long time of not going back but the family wanted tacos and I was already on that side of town and almost home. So glad I did!! New lower prices than when I uses to go here and really amazing pastor and adobada tacos. Like the best I've had in Idaho (born and raised in Northern CA). You can get 4 taco truck tacos for $10!!! I will definitely be making this place a frequent stop if the food maintains this level of quality and affordability. Son loved his burrito and got some churros for dessert that everyone loved. 100% worth a stop. I live close by and super happy we have a spot this good so close. I'm a little confused as this place was bad like a year or so ago. My family and I thought we would try a new restaurant. I saw that they had a 5 star rating on Google. I ordered the Camarones Al Ajo, it was very salty. My mother, sister and niece ordered the Camarones con crema. It was too salty. My nephew and brother in law had the chicken chimichanga and said it was pretty good. Hands-down best tacos I've found in the Idaho Falls/Ammon area. The birria tacos at Taqueria El Rodeo are by far the best birria tacos I've had since moving here. The consome has a great flavor as well. You definitely won't be disappointed. The asada and lengua tacos are good too! Nothing is lacking in flavor, that's for sure. Prices are slightly higher than others I've had, but definitely worth it in my opinion. I've also had the verde enchiladas. The enchilada sauce had a slight vinegar taste to it so these weren't my favorite. The salsa bar is fantastic. There are 6 different salsa options, all ranging in spice levels. You can also find limes and radishes. The biggest downside? Taqueria El Rodeo closes at 8pm on weekdays. I have to cut it pretty close if trying to stop in on my way home after work - but it's worth it, in my opinion. The interior is kept clean and the food is served up quickly. This is my second time back here. Had dinner last Friday night. It was great, both times! The fish taco today was big enough to make two tacos (they serve two tortillas with it). The chips and salsa are delicious and I'm always in for some chilled Horchata! Cant wait to try more delicious menu selections!! More photos to come read more

Was pleasantly surprised with their tacos. Each taco was well prepared and flavorful. They didn't knock my socks off but would place them above average when compared to other taco joints in the area. Went to the restaurant for the first time. They had no birria, no carnitas and no pastor. They also have no soups as advertised on the internet menu. The asada was tough and flour tortillas old, hard and breaking apart. This was not a good example of mexican food. I do not recommend. read more

The food here is absolutely fantastic, the service is amazing, and they have a great salsa bar! I like a good variety for my hot sauces, because there is no catch-all sauce that works for every dish (IMO), and I LOVE that they have just straight up lime wedges so I can DESTROY my plate with all of the delicious lime flavor my heart desires! I recently devoted an entire day to trying a taco with rice and beans from every conceivable location in Idaho Falls. No really, I did it and it was amazing. This place came out on top for sure. No question. Their carnitas are the best as is the carne asada platter. The service here is also great. New to the area and my wife and I were looking for a good taco spot. Glad I found this on Yelp. Ordered a variety of tacos consisting of birria, carne asada and carnitas. All were amazing. I seen comments that the tacos were overpriced but you get what you pay for. Trust me...I miss the $1 street taco days. Lastly, the owner was awesome and friendly. This is the second time I have eaten here. The first time was wonderful and full of flavor. The service was great. I really looked forward to my return. Today I returned and wished I hadn't. I ordered the pinaple pork Chimmicangua. It was lacking any real flavor other than the pinapple. My son got the Beef Chimmicangua and he had they same problem no flavor. We sprang for the extra to chips and salsa and the salsa was thick but no flavor. So very disappointed. read more

Delicious chimichangas and taquitos were super good! The taquitos don't have as much meat in them but the Chimi was definitely loaded with shredded beef! The beans are a little bland but that's pretty normal everywhere just got to put some salsa in them. Churros are amazing make sure you try the churros!! read more

We finally have a legit taqueria in IF. Stop going to cafe Rio! This place is great. Al pastor was super flavorful and they have like 10 different salsas. Everything tasted fresh. The horchata is smooth and tasty. This is my first time here. I will frequent here a few more times and will return and report each time. I visited this establishment twice, and both times the food was sub-par. The first visit was tacos and taco salad. The second visit was enchiladas and chimichanga. The enchiladas had the most bizarre orange-beige sauce on it--a sauce that should never be called enchilada sauce nor should it ever be put on enchiladas. The chimichanga was the only okay food, but it was just a fried tortilla with meat so you can't really mess that up. The salsa is also strange; it's like all the ingredients for a chili soup--minus the beans and meat--served cold and called salsa. I won't be back. read more

Their giant "rodeo torta" which is basically a 12" torta, had probably 5 pieces of meat, and about half of an iceberg lettuce head, a whole chopped up onion, and zero flavor. Be VERY CARRFUL if visiting Taqueria El Rodeo in Ammon. Went there for dinner last night and while paying they informed me "I need your card again, even after the transaction went through ( I had put in my pin and tip amount already ) the owner informed me they needed my card again that it did not go through SO I handed my card over for a second time and sure enough it charged me twice. I showed the owner it had charged me twice and they insisted they only got one transaction on their end. I had payed with my Venmo card so I waited to see if maybe one transaction wouldn't go through where it was showing pending still, this morning I noticed both had gone through so I did create a dispute on the charges with Venmo but the owner refused to refund the 2nd transaction, so essentially I ended up paying 86.46 for tacos the whole time when she asked me for my card back I had a weird feeling so I wonder if they're doing this as a scam for two payments hoping the customer doesn't notice ... read more

Not good. I hate to give a bad review but I feel this time is necessary. The place was so FULL of flies we couldn't even eat. We placed our order and the owner's daughter (maybe 7 or 8 years old) gave us our drink cups after she rubbed her hands all over the rims of the cups. She then proceeded to smack the fresh masa for their tortillas with her little hands. The meat in some of our burritos was days old... there's no other way to describe that taste. I personally ordered tacos and that one I got to eat was good... I found a hair in the second one. The owner came out and wasn't very happy: I was told that things happen and there's no way to avoid them. She said she would only give me a refund for my plate (even though nobody could touch their food after seeing the hair in my food and we had JUST started eating. The fly problem in this place is bad. The owner kept caughing into her hand and scratching her nose while taking the order. Also they had a little girl (a family member)who kindly puts her fingers in your cups when handing them to you.
