Hands-down best tacos I've found in the Idaho Falls/Ammon area. The birria tacos at Taqueria El Rodeo are by far the best birria tacos I've had since moving here. The consome has a great flavor as well. You definitely won't be disappointed. The asada and lengua tacos are good too! Nothing is lacking in flavor, that's for sure. Prices are slightly higher than others I've had, but definitely worth it in my opinion. I've also had the verde enchiladas. The enchilada sauce had a slight vinegar taste to it so these weren't my favorite. The salsa bar is fantastic. There are 6 different salsa options, all ranging in spice levels. You can also find limes and radishes. The biggest downside? Taqueria El Rodeo closes at 8pm on weekdays. I have to cut it pretty close if trying to stop in on my way home after work - but it's worth it, in my opinion. The interior is kept clean and the food is served up quickly. Each time I've been here, I waited less than 15 minutes. In full honesty, I've been here more often in the last two weeks than I'd like to admit. But I can't help it...

Was pleasantly surprised with their tacos. Each taco was well prepared and flavorful. They didn't knock my socks off but would place them above average when compared to other taco joints in the area. Really liked how they put their salsas and other taco toppings out on the floor for anyone to dress up their tacos.

This is my second time back here. Had dinner last Friday night. It was great, both times! The fish taco today was big enough to make two tacos (they serve two tortillas with it). The chips and salsa are delicious and I'm always in for some chilled Horchata! Cant wait to try more delicious menu selections!! More photos to come

This is the second time I have eaten here. The first time was wonderful and full of flavor. The service was great. I really looked forward to my return. Today I returned and wished I hadn't. I ordered the pinaple pork Chimmicangua. It was lacking any real flavor other than the pinapple. My son got the Beef Chimmicangua and he had they same problem no flavor. We sprang for the extra to chips and salsa and the salsa was thick but no flavor. So very disappointed.

New owners as of Oct 2023, and the salsa and food have gone down hill. Will not be going back again.

LOVED THIS PLACE! Tacos are great and staff is friendly. Only complaint is that no staff were wearing masks or gloves.

It didn't take long for my food to come out and they called my number so I went to the pickup place for my food. It was very good. Tasty, not covered with cheese, and plenty of rice and beans to compliment the Chili Relleno with fresh tortillas on the side. The only reason for taking off a star was I expected it to be spicier... but maybe that is me and not the food. I like highly seasoned food. I hope to return and bring my partner for a taste of another dish they make!

The food, while presented as authentic, is easily catered to americanized taste buds. I had the…read morebreakfast burrito without potatoes. That's one thing I don't like about Mexican food breakfast burritos--to much potato, but they fixed it up, added extra egg and cheese to fill up the massive tortilla without extra charge. I got it smothered in cheese and green sauce, omgosh it was sooo tasty, and the relleno is one of the better ones in Idaho falls. Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with green chille & cheese, but some manage to. Morenitas smothers their's in a tasty red sauce. They have a wide variety of drinks, and wide selection of beers( pretty sure all bottled) the service, there was no communication gap. It was high energy, talkative, helpful, and she seemed genuinely happy to be there--nice change. They give you a buzzer to come pick up your food. They are pretty busy, and keep costs down by not running it out to your table, but the dining room is not very big, with multiple bench tables big enough to seat like 5. Anyway, grabbing the food is worth the "taste." The atmo, well not horrible, but a little tooo..shared, cafeteria like...it was ok, i could hear who was with me (she gave 5 stars) but it was bright and open .. didn't feel like a place to kick back and enjoy this great food. If I could, id have given 4.5 stars... But atmo and..oh yeah, I'm not sure if this is all day, but when i asked for coffee, which was on the menu, all they had was instant, that's just...no thanx lol, but 4 stars, with a 5 star lean?

Waiters: decent, maybe understaffed Food: well seasoned, decent portions Cost: it's a little on the pricey side and average dish is $14-18$ Bathrooms: adequate but single person only. Interior ambience is awesome. It kinda has a Mexican vineyard/casita sorta vibe. It being so unassuming from the outside I'd never stop by before this time and can say I am pleasantly surprised by the interior, the front entrance is a little cramped, but has some Mexican tropical plant vibes going on, with some pretty interesting plants. Although spiky, so be watchful of the kiddos. Pleasantly surprised by the decor as the outside is pretty lame. Upon entry, you greeted with a delightful aroma, which is always a plus in a restaurant, a good sign that the food is going to be tasty! The bad: The chips and salsa are not bottomless. The salsa is extremely watery and very hard to eat. Although the flavor is really good you have to sip or drink it to find that out as the seasoning is in the liquid. It really defeats the purpose of chips and salsa if you ask me and I am pretty annoyed by that. It's also not very shareable friendly that way. But if you want the easiest eating experience with it with the full flavor of the salsa broth I t's easier to take a drink of salsa and then eat a chip, again pretty annoying. The beans are also on the loose side almost watery, the color is unappetizing, but flavor is decent, you can taste the lard I believe and it is well salted, sticks to the chip a whole lot easier than the salsa at the very least. Less flavorful than the salsa though. The price, $28 plus tip for the Molcajete dish I felt wasn't necessary worth it. It was big enough to share but it felt more like a $19-20 dish than an almost $30 one. We called ahead of time and they basically couldn't understand what we were saying, English Spanish barrier. The good: Lemon slice for water was very generous, usually that's a skimpy item, not sure if that was a fluke or not. They have the good sonic style ice as well! The ambiance was nice. Delicious food. We had the Molcajete. The sizzling Molcajete stays hot the whole meal. A combination of well seasoned chorizo, chicken, beef, shrimp, onions and peppers swimming in their juices, the flavor of the chorizo permeating throughout the dish. It had a well seasoned great flavor and the meats were all tender and not overcooked. It also came with grilled green onions and grilled cactus, which both were a delight. There was 8 tortillas and two of us eating, just enough for one taco of each meat and plenty left over for combining with the beans and rice, Probably the best pico around, a little heavier on the cilantro than most places, your mileage may very. Although you don't get a ton of meat for what you are paying for. Just a taste of each for two basically. The side plate of guac, pico, rice and beans was on the light side for sharing. Overall I would go back and give it another try.

The Quessabirria looked amazing but only tasted of grease which dripped freely all over everything. The carne asada burrito was ok. The meat didn't really stand out and it only tasted of beans, lettuce and sour cream. The two things that were good were the two pork taco options. The pork carnitas had the most amazing texture I've ever been lucky to try. It was moist and crunchy from the flat top. It is definitely worth giving this meat choice a try in anything they have. The true star though was the Adobada tacos. They were amazing. There was tons of meat with so much flavor. These were the best Adobada I've ever had anywhere. I think the highs were very high but the lows were just as low. They have decent salsas but if you can't take a good bit of heat you won't be able to handle even the weakest one. Definitely worth checking out.
