I may not have liked all the dishes they served, but there was never any discussion about quality and the cooking, and I usually found at least one of dishes to my liking. Alas, for the past few months this has been a thing of the past. The food nowadays is sorely lacking both flavor, seasoning, correct cooking times; simply just any kind of thought regarding quality. Previously I was looking forward going to lunch at the hospital, nowadays I mostly dread it (the few times I don't bring food from home). To top this off is that they increased the prices (from 80 to 90 SEK), and no lunch of the current quality is worth that sum. I hope it changes for the better, but I'm not holding breath for it. That said, I ordered a plate of ceasar salad for me and my daughter. My friends also had a ceasar salad and a burger. They were both happy with their food and I'm definitely inclined to agree. The crutons were crispy and tasty with salt and herbs, generous with the parmesan, the dressing coated all of the salad and the chicken skewers were moist, well seasoned, and nicely cooked. So a big plus for the environment, decor, and food. Big negative on the staff. A-OK in my book.

The question is how big of a step up it really is when push comes to shove. The phrase an O'Leary's is an O'Leary's no matter where you are isn't too far off. They offer their standardized menu of burgers, salads, tex mex, and quesadillas. However, all of their signature pub dishes of fish, pasta or meat are sorely missing. No beef tenderloin, rib-eye or salmon to be found. And while it's at an airport, there's always a certain increase in expenditure, but to be charged almost 80 SEK for a 30 cl pear cider is borderline ludicrous and an honest rip-off. The few dishes I've had here as I sometimes head from work directly to the airport and in dire need of food it has never been more than adequate. They always succeed with fries, no doubt, but burgers are usually too dry, under-seasoned and dripping with mayo and grease. Whenever I need to eat something at this airport my go-to is a salad with a glass of water. Anything with alcohol is too over-priced and unsatisfying to be worth it. The location is as standardized as an O'Leary's can get, nothing more neither anything less. To finish off, have I experienced better O'Leary's than this one? Without a doubt. Have I experienced someplace worse? Yes, but that's definitely on the shortlist and frankly, this place almost qualifies on that shortlist as well.

The reindeer chili wasn't spicy hot, but did have plenty of spice. The gnocchi was quite popular with the locals. Having previously been to Restaurant CG, and being quite impressed with their food and the whole dining experience in general, their recently opened, and practically next door to their restaurant is the new and smaller, Bar CG. This place focuses on cocktails as well as smaller dishes and even though you can book a table, they always have about 20 seats that are on a drop-in basis only. Walking in, leaving the howling snowstorm behind me, the place feels immediately welcoming. Dark interior design but still contemporary modern with small finishes of the 1950's like the leather chairs brings it all nicely together. It feels more of an upscale modern pub than an actual restaurant. I had a seat at the bar and one of the waitresses greeted me welcome and tended to me immediately. As I was driving this evening any form of alcohol was off-limits, so I had the cocktail Just Another Virgin that consisted of Jus de Apricot, cinnamon, orange, lemon, sugar and non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Truthfully? I've tasted my share of non-alcoholic cocktails that have tasted so bad that I could barely swallow a mouthful. But this? Oh man, this was so good that it made my toes curl! For food I ordered a two-course meal with the first dish being filet of lamb served with creamy polenta, tomato chips, tomato con fit and tomato jus. It was delish. The fatty side on the lamb nicely rendered and crispy, meat moist and pearly pink. Polenta have the potential of being a swing and a miss, but they nailed it. Continuing my non-alcoholic extravaganza I asked for a suggestion for a suitable drink to the lamb. They recommended a lingonberry juice since there were a lot of tomatoes in the dish to complement the acidity. Said and done, I had that, and it was an absolute perfect pairing! For dessert I went for somewhat of a classic, a tarte tatin. Creamy apple, flaky puff pastry and rich vanilla ice-cream was an excellent finish together with a creamy cup of cappuccino. For once it was nice just sitting down at a bar by myself, eating a smaller meal and enjoying some drinks and the occasional chat with the staff. Bar CG may be a smaller sibling to its big brother restaurant, but it does an excellent job providing good food with great flavors and excellent drink to round out the company. Next time I'm coming here I'm checking out that drink-list in more detail cause it looks really impressive. I wouldn't mind spending an entire evening here again with friends, cocktails and also some food. Great place worthy of a visit (or two)!

Not familiar with the wine list- the waiter nailed a recommendation TDF after a brief description of my preference. The entree, tonight's special, peppered filet seared with flaming cognac & pepper sauce was impeccable. I don't normally dare to order steak out, because compared to my husbands "meat cheffery" others simply disappoint, but I'm pleased to say my intuition about this place was spot on. Impressive. They had fairly few items on the menu, which I absolutely love! Do a few things and do them good! I had my eyes set for a pizza, in particular Italiano with tomato sauce, mozzarella, parma ham and arugula. My wife had a Vesuvio that she shared with our son. They prepared the food quick and efficient, and the flavor was pretty much the best pizza I've had in the vicinity of this town - ever. The bottom was thin and crisp with fluffy edges, perfect tomato sauce, rich and tasty mozzarella and crispy arugula. This was pizza how it's supposed to be! Really happy with the food and I can really recommend it. Left happy and satisfied.
