    The small size smoothie
    Sam D.

The smoothies are great here! Great tasting, the quantity is perfect and the price is awesome and reasonable. We ordered a "Jugo 5 frutas" - that is a 5 fruit mix and we also ordered a papaya milkshake. Both were super tasty. The large size of their smoothies are huge! Our smoothies totaled to $8 so we grabbed two postelitos. Street parking is available

Found in my shake after I complained bout first shake

I ordered mango shake but it had too much sugar so I returned it and got a lechosa shake as I take the last sip of shake I find some type of plastic in it I can only imagine I must of drank the rest of it smfh

I had a really fun time checking this place out and I strongly recommend the smoothies, especially the mango and passion fruit. The vibe here is definitely authentic, as most of the patrons and customers are almost primarily Spanish-speakers. Most of the smoothies are made with real fruit and are incredibly affordable ($4 for smoothies, $2 for juices). I did end up trying the guava juice, which was primarily made from an incredibly sweet syrup and I ended throwing it away...mostly to spare my pancreas from secreting a lifetime's worth of insulin after one cup. I heard that the panini are incredibly large, but I was very content with my smoothie and may come back if I'm super hungry. This place does take credit cards.

A whole loaf's worth of Cubano for $7... I think I died of pork consumption

Fruteria Cafeteria Frias on Broad St. serves Dominican pressed sandwiches, plates, pastelitos, juices, and shakes at low prices. It seems pretty popular--they had a consistent line from 3-4pm--so I was excited to try it out. The jugo de chinola (passion fruit juice) was amazing. I felt like I was on a beach somewhere. I'm pretty sure they use real fruit since there were little shards of passion fruit seeds in the drink. Plus it's only $2, although you can upgrade to a shake for $4. I wasn't expecting to get an entire loaf of bread's worth of sandwich when I ordered the $7 Cubano... definitely enough for two moderately hungry people to share! They reheat the shredded pork in the microwave before putting it on a sandwich, so your sandwich won't be cold in the middle. It's not the most traditional Cubano: no pickles, and they use ketchup instead of mustard, but after all, the pork is the most important part. Even though I liked the food, I'm not sure if I would come back here because the service was really bad. I missed two buses waiting to get out of here because everyone was ignoring me. I saw my sandwich sit around behind the counter for 10 minutes before someone brought it over to me. Then one of the employees stood around and deliberately wiped down like 20 trays with Windex (?) while I was sitting two feet away clearly trying to pay. OK, I get it, ignore the gringa. Cleanliness doesn't really bother me but definitely don't come here if that's something you value. You won't find a hairnet or a glove in this place, and I kept seeing one girl touch her hair and then make people's drinks. I might come back here for the juice or an unbeatably cheap lunch, but I'll definitely order to-go next time.

Located right on Broad street this place is amazing ... they make spanish style sandwiches on a panini press. they have about 7 different sandwiches to choose from ... but they also specialize on fresh juices and also fruit smoothies . my personal favorite is the passion fruit smoothie .. next time i go i will take a picture of the menu.. the staff is really friendly and also have great suggestions for fruit smoothies ...

The space itself is interesting -- I understand the location has even been used as a filming location for a movie -- and the coffee and food we had were both quite good. What stood out, unfortunately, was the atmosphere created by the staff. During my visit the café was less than half full, but employees were very actively directing where people could and could not sit in what otherwise appeared to be open seating. At one point I watched a staff member speak sharply to a customer while waving a sign that said "No laptops at the bar." The confusing part was that the customer didn't appear to have a laptop at all. The interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational and awkward to witness. Taken together, the tone of the staff came across as petty and uninviting, which really undermined what could otherwise be a pleasant place to stop for coffee. The drinks and food were good, but the atmosphere made the experience feel tense. Visitors may want to keep in mind that seating and house rules seem to be enforced quite strictly.

Their sandwiches are (to steal a line) superlative! There are long tables, so if you are by yourself or a small party & it is packed, you might have to share; but don't look at it as a drawback...look at it as connecting with a fellow human being(s).

The choices seem endless, but we finally selected: * Rachel * Roger Williams (hold the onions and tiger sauce) The former is a perennial favorite while the latter was a new choice. The Rachel was excellent, as usual, with tender pastrami, and nicely melted cheese. I also liked the Roger Williams which had a tasty stuffing. It was a huge sandwich, warm and nicely toasted. That said, I always prefer real turkey over the coldcut variety any day! 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.
