Empanada de carne
Matt S.

Always serving amazing Colombian food. The service here is fast and capable of working through a long line. Seating is available inside. One caveat is they don't speak English that well but their food is displayed where you are able to point at. The pastel de pollos are my favorite. The empanada de carnes pair great with them. The salsa has the perfect amount of spice. The pastries are a must with every order, especially a buñuelo or pan de queso.

A variety of foods!

I have been coming here for about 15 years! I absolutely love the food they sell. They have a lovely variety of fresh baked breads and Colombian pastries (they accept food stamps for those items). There is also a nice variety of Colombian ready hot foods as well. All served fresh every time. The staff is always friendly, but very limited on their english, which is fine because you can still communicate about the different items. They have a small parking lot in back and tables to dine in, however, I always buy to-go because it is very small and always crowded in there. It is also pretty loud and there are no restrooms which is why I give 4 stars. As far as the food, I highly highly recommend, like I said I have been coming here for 15 years and nevwr have been let down.

Craving traditional, affordable, delicious Colombian food? Look no further, this is the spot to try! Some of my favorites include the papa rellena (fried stuffed potato balls) and the chicharrón (fried pork belly), but also don't forget to try the empanadas, the chorizo, and the blood sausage. And make sure to get an extra large contained of salsa, it's the best in town! Service is kind, attentive, and energetic and ambiance is reminiscent of Colombia. Expect a line as well as a little wait time, but it's worth it - promise!

Variety of empanadas and chorizo

There is a small parking lot in the back, but I was able to find parking on the residential street down the block which was great. When we went into the restaurant there was a long line of people ordering items. We ordered a few of the empanadas, arepa con choclo, chorizo, and buñuelo. Everything was very fresh and tasted delicious. I definitely recommend checking out this place and picking up a few items. It is an authentic Colombian bakery.

The inside of this flaky pastry

Been coming here for years...then stopped, and now I'm back again! Picked up some flaky filled pastry - super crisp, sweet and yummy. Would get again and recommend. Also picked up some cheese bread. Bread is soft and almost challah-like...but not sweet. Cheese inside is melty and plentiful. Shop is small but thriving at all hours, even now during COVID. Yes parking is annoying and tight but people are usually in and out quickly anyway. Lots of variety and prices here are fair as well. Give this place a try if you are in the area :)

After seeing maven's delicatessen on Instagram, I had to come here…read more It was a blistering hot day out, and I walked into a pleasantly air-conditioned establishment. Loved the atmosphere and the place was spotless. One of the waitresses seated us asked us if we'd like a drink and pickles with coleslaw. We said yes pickles were great. Coleslaw was very vinegary. Was not a fan of that. We both ordered half a pound of pastrami sandwiches with Swiss cheese and mustard. The pastrami was very lean and sliced very thin and that was good. But I found the pastrami lacking in flavor. I think I was expecting pastrami like they sell at Katz's deli or the old now closed Carnegie's in New York. Would come back to try other things.

I really wanted to like Maven's. With all the hype surrounding this place, I expected something…read morespecial. After several visits, though, I'd describe it with one word: meh. To be clear, the food isn't bad. It's perfectly edible. The problem is that it's also remarkably average, especially considering the prices they're charging. Nothing I've ordered has made me think, "I can't wait to come back for that." It's just...fine. We actually visited during opening weekend, and it was a bit of a mess. They ran out of pastrami, which is a pretty big problem for a deli that was generating so much excitement. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because opening weekends can be chaotic. Since then, we've been back several times hoping things would improve, but the experience has been largely the same. The biggest issue, aside from the food being average, is the service. It's consistently slow. I can understand waiting when a restaurant is packed, but we've experienced long waits even when there were very few customers inside. It feels like everything moves at half speed, and that's been true on multiple visits. I also think they're trying a little too hard to be Katz's Delicatessen. That's an incredibly high bar, and instead of trying to recreate that experience, I'd rather see them focus on becoming the best version of themselves. Right now, it feels like the ambition exceeds the execution. The one thing I will gladly compliment is the bagels. They've been excellent every time we've ordered them, and honestly, they're probably the strongest item on the menu. I do think there's plenty of room for improvement, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. There's clearly potential here, and I genuinely hope they find their footing because I'd love to have another great deli in the area. We'll probably give them another chance down the road, and I hope I can come back and update this review with a much more positive experience.

Although the parking lot was busy, there were still plenty of tables available inside. There is a larger dining area in the back, but we stayed in one of the booths in the area where you first walk in. It gives old school diner vibes with the red stools, yellow/tan booths, aluminum accents, and small tile floor. The menu is comprehensive as it offers breakfast and lunch, and both sweet and savory options. My friend and I both ordered the steak and eggs ($16.99 each) but I ordered my steak medium (anticipating for it to be cooked a little heavier than medium), with scrambled eggs and cheese on top, with a grilled English muffin. The food came out after about 10-15 minutes. They did have about 4 options of hot sauces we could choose from including Frank's, Tabasco, Cholula, and Sriracha - but the only right answer is Sriracha followed by Cholula. The steak was tasty and cooked exactly how I wanted it to, with a gentle sear. The home fries were delicious as they were soft, but also had bits of fried onions to enhance the flavor. The English muffin was golden, crispy, and slightly buttery. The eggs were very fluffy and the white cheese was completely melted into them which was great. The service was good, where we got everything in a timely manner, but we didn't feel rushed or overwhelmed with questions regarding our experience.

I had like a hamburger that was like the diners specified hamburger and it came in club sandwich form and I'm not a real big fan of my burger coming like that . I also had the fries and this coffee bun type ordeal . The burger was a 6/10 , fries 6/10 and the coffee bun was 5/10, the bun was definitely house made which is good but the bread they made it out of gave off white loaf bread and I just wasn't a fan. All in all meal was a 6/10 service was top tier food was sub par at best and the prices are amazing I paid around 60 bucks for the two meals and drinks plus tip .

They have a huge selection of flavors, and every time we go in I end up standing there longer than I planned because there are so many tempting choices. It's the kind of problem every ice cream shop should have. The ice cream itself is outstanding. It's fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor without feeling overly heavy. Every flavor we've tried has been excellent, and it's easy to see why this place has developed such a loyal following. In my opinion, it's the best ice cream on the East Side. Just be prepared to wait if you're stopping by on a nice evening. The shop is fairly small inside, and it's not uncommon for the line to stretch right out the front door. Thankfully, the staff keeps things moving, and the wait has always been worth it. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ice cream and the generous portions. Parking can be a little hit or miss since it's mostly street parking, although there are a handful of spaces behind the building. Somehow we've been lucky the last few visits and managed to grab a spot right out front, even when there was a long line. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the small space and limited parking can make visiting during peak hours a little less convenient. Once you have your ice cream, though, it's hard to complain. If you're looking for fantastic homemade ice cream in Providence, Three Sisters absolutely deserves a visit. Just bring a little patience if you're going on a warm summer evening.

Having a job that has me outside most of the day it is really nice to have a friendly space to stop in and cool off.
