I've been living in Modesto for about six years and have always passed by this place, telling myself I needed to check it out. My friend and I go on morning walks three times a week, and I finally said, "Let's try it and see what they have." As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two gentlemen who were incredibly kind and welcoming. We headed toward the café area and it smelled amazing. I ordered an almond iced coffee, and my friend got a salted coffee (can't remember the exact name), but we drank them down so fast because they were that good. The balance was perfect--you can actually taste the coffee, not just sugar or milk like at other places I've tried. You can tell they really take pride in their shop and their craft. I really wanted to like Caffettino Coffee Roasters because the coffee itself was actually good, but the customer service completely threw me off. I had a simple custom request and the barista's reaction honestly made me feel uncomfortable for even asking. The facial expressions and attitude felt very dismissive instead of helpful or welcoming. I totally understand not every order is standard, but as a customer you shouldn't feel awkward ordering a drink. What made it stand out even more is that I had gone to Pure Grind Coffee & Juice Bar the day before, and their barista actually asked around and tried to help make my drink the way I wanted it. That kind of effort and kindness goes a long way. I'm big on supporting local businesses, so this review isn't about being dramatic just honest. This was the first time that I went into this coffee shop/health food store. It's in Modesto right by where I take my dog to get groomed in so I spotted it and wanted to come back to it. They have tons of interesting vitamins, and healthy foods but today was about getting a coffee. Cold brew is always my go to. They don't have any syrups or pumps of syrups available, but they do sweeten it with monk fruit. So I did a cold brew with monk fruit, and a splash of half-and-half. And it was very tasty. I came in to replenish my vitamins as this store it's both a health store and coffee shop. When I would come in I thought it was strange and never cared to try it before. The store wasn't always like that as well. Anyway was I wrong the coffee is delicious and for two coffees it was cheaper than a certain mermaid conglomerate coffee. The baristas are friendly and know how to make a wonderful coffee. Next time I need to pick up some vitamins or get a coffee to go with my cannoli. The coffee is delicious and the choca coffee is addicting. The service is decent, not over the top super friendly, but they're there to do a job & they make a good coffee. The owner is Italian & he's had the Cornacopia Health Food Store for decades & it smells great due to the coffee & bake goods (try the flour-less brownie). Inside & outside seating available & it's decent & a little charming. BTW, you will be greeted nicely no matter your race or gender (don't listen to the hater who left the nasty comment). If you ask them to leave out the ice don't be surprised if they charge you a small fee bc you're asking for more product & it's not free to them when you think about it. Quick stop in Modesto for Thanksgiving and had to find a good coffee spot. After asking some trusted coffee friends, Caffettino was the winner. Rarely have I found a coffee shop that can duplicate my local's shops drink (iced Shakerato) but without skipping a beat, the barista crushed it. He even had ties to San Diego which was cool. Great customer service from a family owned business. They even knew about shaking up the espresso with the ice (big win) I just wish they had a little better brand of oat milk. I think it was the Kirkland brand which for me has a really strong oat taste. A different oat milk would have made this even better. One of the BEST Chai Lattes I've had! Very delicious! I got mine with oat milk. The place itself is inside the natural food store. After speaking to one of the owners she said, her and her brother opened the cafe in 2021. It's a beautiful, quaint area to enjoy your cup of coffee or tea. There aren't a lot of tables, but it is the perfect amount for the space. The vibe was warm and inviting, and everyone I interacted with was welcoming and had a beautiful energy. First off we love the store already, then they have coffee too?! All the workers are super sweet, they were able to customize my mom's coffee because she likes just plain vanilla lattes. So they did it with vanilla extract instead of pumps of sugary vanilla, it was so good. She's very picky with coffee too. But the coffee is 10/10. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally got to try it. The coffee stand is located inside Cornucopia Nutrition shop, which was hard to locate at first using Google Maps. But once I was inside, it was a very humble and comforting experience. Jarret, the barista behind the bar, was very honest and gave me recommendations for what to try. I decided to try his recommendation for the SCM mocha, which was very delicious. The big takeaways I had were how friendly the staff was and the fact that the ingredients they use are natural. We've been here a few times and I think it's time for a review. Customer service - literally top notch! The baristas and owner (Gio) are so kind and really welcoming to all customers. They answer questions and give suggestions depending on what the customer enjoys. Coffee - I've tried a few of a different items on their menu and it doesn't disappoint! What I truly enjoy from their drink selections is that the drinks are not made with artificial syrups and it doesn't make the drink overly sweet. I moved to Modesto from LA this past April and coffee is what makes me feel at home. I resorted to Starbucks for awhile bc it was the only familiar place for me. I found Caffetino (took me long enough lol) and honestly, I couldn't be happier. First off, to the former customer saying "unless you're white, you won't get greeted," what? I'm Vietnamese and they are so nice to me. Customer service A+. It's also in the cutest little Italian market. Second time I came, the sweetest man offered me fresh cooked sourdough bread while I waited for my coffee. So yummy! My go-to order here is the Maple Cinnamon, decaf, with oatmilk. It is THEE BEST version of this that I have ever had. I order cinnamon coffees everywhere and this one is definitely now my top one. I sit outside and enjoy my coffee (both hot or iced is splendid).
