Inside, the girls ordered coffee, my granddaughter happily went straight for an M&M cookie, and my younger daughter told me I had to try something called the "Fluff Bucket," which she said had gone viral on TikTok. I am a lifelong fluff fanatic, so there was no chance I was passing that up. When I went up to the counter, I was greeted by the warmest, kindest woman with the brightest smile. I told her I had just heard about the Fluff Bucket and that as a serious fluff lover I had to try it. She laughed and said she would make one for me right away. I had no idea at the time that she was the owner. I just knew she was someone who made me feel genuinely welcome in a moment when that meant more than she could possibly know. And let me tell you, the Fluff Bucket absolutely lived up to the hype. Smooth, creamy, perfectly sweet and sticky, blended with espresso, topped with fluff and mini marshmallows... it was like a dessert and a coffee had a beautiful, indulgent baby. Pure comfort in a cup. When I brought it back to the table, both of my daughters immediately said, "So you got one? You're going to love it." My younger daughter then told me that the woman I had been chatting with was actually the owner. That made the experience even more special. Her warmth, her kindness, and that simple human moment of being greeted with a smile on a difficult morning stayed with me as much as the drink itself. We ended up lingering longer than we planned. My granddaughter enjoyed a grilled cheese after her cookie, and I grabbed a bag of raspberry-filled shortbread cookies that instantly reminded me of hamantaschen around Purim. Service was pretty quick and kind of friendly. I got the Midsummer Latte, which was mostly raspberry flavored. It was the perfect level of sweet, but got a little weird tasting as it warmed up a little as I walked around the city in a heat wave, so make sure you drink this one pretty quick for the best effect! The freeze dried raspberry pieces on top were so tart and tangy, they'd catch me off guard every time I got one in my mouth but in a fun way! It made the flavor more authentic. The decor in the coffee shop was very fun, as were their take home coffee bag brew names (ex: Labrewbrew, lol!) It's a small coffee area and seemingly had no air conditioning, I was getting sweaty just standing around for the few short minutes it took to get my drink. I kept thinking the poor baristas must be so uncomfortable. Pricing was on the higher side ($9 and change including a tip for a medium ish sized specialty latte), but for such a touristy area I was (begrudgingly) expecting this. On my second visit, I went for my go-to cafe order: a medium iced matcha with oat milk and local honey. I was so impressed by the barista's technique! They crafted it perfectly so that the honey was completely incorporated and didn't just freeze and stick to the ice. Beyond the incredible tea menu, they have a beautiful retail section stocked with a wide variety of quality teas, books, and stationery gift merchandise The service is just as lovely as the drinks. Both times I was greeted with genuine kindness the moment I walked through the door. The ambiance is cozy, calm, clean, and highly aesthetic.
