The burger was delicious. The side of chips was just okay, though my boyfriend loved them. Service was super slow and slightly unfriendly. I'd suggest people try this place, but I wouldn't run back. Lovely outdoor ambiance.

Café Paulette is the true neutral of Fort Greene restaurants. It doesn't attract and it doesn't unattract. You won't make plans to come here, but one day the bar seats at Roman's will all be full, and you won't have a ticket for the pop-up at Rhodora. On that day, you'll remember seeing people sitting outside on DeKalb Avenue on a perfect summer day, and you'll realize that they were at Cafe Paulette.

A friend made a reservation for 5 for Sunday brunch. While we ended up being a party of 4, they didn't seat us until our full party arrived (I get it; especially during brunch - but there weren't any walk-in patrons waiting to dine in and we had a reservation!). Our server was an older woman who was very funny! She got our order down quickly and brought our drinks out shortly after. Most of our food was also brought out together, which was nice because we weren't waiting for long before we all dug in to our food. I had the waffle with the caramelized apples and fresh fruit. The apples weren't quite what I had expected and were definitely on the mushier side but they were still tasty with the waffle. The fresh pressed juice was also very good (though quite expensive for juice - at $8 a glass!) Within the hour, we had gotten close to finishing our food and wanted to continue chatting, but we got asked to leave to make space for a family that did not want to dine outdoors because it was chilly. So I guess the lesson is: eat slowly if you want to fully enjoy your time and company here.

My friend suggested we go to this French restaurant when she found out I have stressful week ahead. I didn't expected to like this place as much as I do. I ordered a cup of drip coffee and Eggs Benedict. My portion of the bill was $29 including tips. I don't know if it's because the waitress saw I was taking a lot of pictures hence she was more attentive to us or what. I have to admit the service was 10/10. The dish and coffee receive two thumbs up from me too.

Great food and ambiance! Service was prompt. Steak frites peppercorn sauce was pretty peppery

A beautiful French restaurant tucked away in Fort Greene! It's great for small groups of 2-4, and would be perfect for a date. The food was excellent -- we tried the burrata, mussels and steak tartare. My impression is that the French entrees were by far the best: the burrata was good, but the tartare was packed with flavor and texture. Service was also super attentive: during the meal I chortled and snuffed out the candle several times, and without fail the servers always relit it!

I visited Cafe Paulette on my recent trip to NY. It is difficult to find restaurants that will take reservations, especially for brunch. Our reservation was for two children (one requiring a high chair) and four adults. It was a little chilly outside so we were luckily seated inside. The front table was perfect to accommodate us, the children, the high chair and all of our gear (diaper backpacks, stroller, etc.) My husband and I ordered to share with our son: - Oeufs Benedicte - This comes with two poached eggs on an English muffin, Hollandaise sauce, French ham, fries and a salad. This was delicious, I really liked the Hollandaise sauce. - Omelette du Jour - This comes with organic eggs and your choice of fries or salad. The veggies inside of the omelette made the omelette even better. Fries portion for both dishes was huge! - Fresh Fruit - This side was beautifully plated, it was nice for the children to pick from and encouraged them to eat more fruits. Overall, the staff were friendly and accommodating of our large party and the children. Food came out fresh and just as we ordered. I would definitely make the trip back here if I am back in the area :)

Went here with my partner for Valentine's Day. We were seated promptly in the heated outside area and started with a wonderful bottle of red wine our server recommended and a half dozen oysters which were great. For dinner, we split one of the specials of the night, a raclette cheese dish. Everything about it was amazing and it arrived quickly. We dessert we had a cake to go (I believe this was also one of the specials) which was incredible. The staff was helpful, friendly and prompt. The vibes inside seemed great too and we hope to return Fabian soon as well as check out their sister wine bar next door. Wonderful experience overall.

I got the classic eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary. It was good but nothing special. It was easy to get in on a Sunday afternoon, but was definitely crowded. The service was decent and the ambiance was loud.

If you're by Fort Greene Park and want brunch food, this is a good option. I just don't get wowed by brunch food in general. The shakshuka here is unique in that it is part ratatouille so you'll get lots of veggies. Also fries are thin and crispy!

Carpaccio de Gravlax

I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for our anniversary and it was overall a great experience! We arrived a bit early to our reservation but the server was able to fit us in, which was great! When we walked in, the overall vibe I got of the place was a bit loud and crowded, however super intimate. We started off with the house salmon gravlax and it was delicious. The salmon tasted fresh and buttery on top of the provided bruschetta was excellent. The sparkling Chardonnay accompanied the house salmon gravlax well. The house brioche was warm and toasted perfectly. The waiter noticed we finished all our house brioche and even provided us more. For entrees, I ordered the mussels and my boyfriend ordered the chicken and we both enjoyed our meals. There were a lot of mussels so I thought it was well worth the meal. The fries were also good. My boyfriend thought the sauce that accompanied his chicken well. We ended our meal with a crème brulee and we thought it tasted great! Super creamy and the caramelized sugar was sweet and crunchy! Overall, I think this place is a great for a date night out. If you're ever in the area, I would suggest you try!

Decent brunch place in Brooklyn. I'd go if in the area but not sure I'd make the trek just to eat here. The best dish was the shahshuka which was delicious. The croque madame was good too. The Bellini was pretty bad. I wouldn't get a drink here. Overall decent brunch, slightly overpriced. Friendly service!

Will there be a long wait if we try to visit with a party of four for Sunday brunch? (Do they take reservations for this party size/time??)

Hi they do take reservations. Not sure what the wait would be for a Sunday brunch.

The scallop dish was quite small so not the best for sharing but the rest were all amazing. From the regular menu we got the mushroom toast which was absolutely delicious and great for sharing and the pork chop which is one of the best dishes I have ever had. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and was incredibly juicy. For dessert, we got the creme brûlée which I am also still thinking about and one of the best desserts I have ever had. Would absolutely come back!

Everything on the menu looked amazing, so I had the waiter choose my dish/wine pairing and he did a great job! I got the pesto with shrimp. The pasta is handmade and the wine is natural from Italy. The pesto is made the day of in the morning. All fresh ingredients. They have indoor seating and then more seating in the back that is the perfect spot. I love the exposed brick wall. Instead of picking a wine from a menu, you tell your server the flavor and mood of wine you're looking for and they bring out glasses or a bottle for you based on that. The food here is delicious and I was happy to see gluten free pasta options. The pork ragu was good but I was truly impressed by how good the texture of the gluten free pasta was. For me, the show stopper was the branzino. It was seasoned perfectly and the potato crust was a fun touch. The salad was nice and simple, but didn't blow me away. Portion sizes were good, though the prices are on the higher side. The restaurant is a great place for a friends' night or date night, and I'd keep the group small or make a reservation in advanced because it gets busy. It is definitely a more expensive spot, but worth it!
