I hired Cage and Miles and they assigned my case to John Sylvester who charged $9,159 for his incompetent work. His extremely high hourly rate is not reflected in his skill level. In court, he does not have a strong presence as he lacks quick rebuttals and strong arguments. Not only did he not make any progress on my case, he actually delayed it and set it back. There was a lot of cleanup I had to do. Since he ran through my retainer so quickly with his over-priced and inefficient use of time, I requested that he just represent me on a limited scope. He agreed, but then later reneged without any reasoning. We had an attorney fees request pending and he refused to supply a Cueva Declaration which would have only taken him about 20 minutes to write. I offered to pay him, but he still refused after a month of ignoring my urgent request. John will just run through your retainer with long-winded phone calls where he unnecessarily repeats himself and then, when it comes to court appearances, he looks like a weakling stumbling for words. read more

This all women group of 'attorneys' spent the better part of a year (10 months) sending me COUNTLESS daily emails requesting the same information they had already obtained time and time again. Rounding the year mark, they had accomplished nothing for him - never requested any money or back pay she owed him for their shared rental properties, never requested increase of custody despite him moving 20 minutes away from the children. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! I am simply writing this review to warn anyone considering hiring these people, they are truly the most unprofessional lawyers I have EVER met. The worst and most costly mistake I've ever made was marrying ex husband, the second worst was hiring Shannon Miles to represent me. I regretfully engaged Shannon Miles for legal representation, and my experience was nothing short of a nightmare; I have paid over $100,000 to Shannon (and the horrible forensic accountants she insisted I used) only for my divorce to be dragged out and nothing accomplished. From the onset, Shannon displayed a shocking level of rudeness, demonstrating a lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. My case was egregiously prolonged, with a simple mediation meeting taking an astonishing 10 months to arrange. This delay was compounded by Shannon's insistence on involving a forensic accounting firm, which not only incurred exorbitant fees over $45,000 but also provided subpar service (I later found out they have a one-star Yelp rating!). During the mediation, I felt utterly bulldozed, and encouraged into accepting a settlement that would leave me financially devastated and with zero dollars to my name. Throughout this ordeal, Shannon repeatedly downplayed the urgency of addressing my ex-husband's access to my bank accounts, assuring me that resolution would come during mediation. However, I now find myself financially drained and without recourse to reclaim the substantial sums siphoned by my ex-spouse. I am extremely upset that I still haven't received my refund retainer check. It is all because I posted a negative review on Google and Yelp. This a legal firm that is retaliatory. I made a HUGE mistake by choosing to pay for an opinion. It's taking this firm 8 weeks to send my refund based on a service that was solely on a opinion. No other service was rendered or parties affiliated. Not only did they charge me additional charges after they found out I posted a negative review but I called today and the receptionist mentioned that the check was issued yesterday. To my understanding their billing ends at the end of the month. Why did it take 2 additional weeks to issue my check from the end of December? John Sylvester could've given me a honest opinion on a complimentary consultation. Secondly, Robert Russell (not sure who he is in the firm), he does not have a title on his email signature but he decided to add additional charges after John's paralegal mentioned my total refund.
