We purchased from this company many times and even recommended them to several friends and family. However, it seems their quality and customer service has begun to decline significantly. We picked up a 15 lb sack on 6/5/2022 around 10:30am. Once we got home to clean the crawfish, I discovered that nearly half of the sack was dead. I spoke with Angie about the issue, and she accused me of "drowning" the crawfish. I explained that they had only been in water for about 20 minutes, and I called as soon as I realized that there was an issue. She then gave a lecture about how the crawfish should only be rinsed in the sack and don't need to be purged. I told her we had a difference of opinion because many people purge crawfish without killing them. Especially if they are only submerged briefly in flowing water. After this, she gave me David's number (the owner) to speak with him about the issue. David gave me the same lecture about purging crawfish, and I similarly disagreed. After a bit of back and forth, with many contentious remarks from David about how I must have received a "miracle" sack, David reluctantly agreed to provide us with half of a 15 lb sack to replace what was lost. I arrived around 11:45am to pick up the new crawfish from Angie. She gave me the crawfish and began to lecture me again about how the crawfish only need to be rinsed in the sack. I told her that I disagree, and I would not be following her recommendations. I suggested again that we could agree to disagree. She then asked if I had read the LSU (Louisiana State University) study about purging crawfish and stated that she and David have been in this business for 25 years, so they know what they are doing. I responded that I did not read the study, but I and many others have prepared crawfish for 25 years without killing half of a sack. She then condescendingly told me to "Enjoy your free crawfish". Angie, please be aware that we paid for 15 lb of LIVE crawfish. In response to their adamant stance on not purging crawfish I took this opportunity to review the LSU study and investigate their claims. The study is titled "Effectiveness of saltwater bath in purging crawfish". We do not use salt, but the study also used fresh water to compare the effects. The study actually found that purging crawfish in a water bath aids in removing mud/debris and results in less gut content than non-washed crawfish. It confirms that the effects of purging the crawfish are beneficial, and it also addresses the effects of water baths on crawfish mortality. The study states, "Less than 1 percent of dead crawfish were observed immediately after the water bath, and these may have been simply due to handling." This study disproves David and Angie's claims, but the last section suggests that improper handling of crawfish is a common cause of death. But what are some common ways crawfish can be mishandled? Let's find out. Another document published by LSU titled "Enjoying Louisiana Crawfish" has a section that addresses the "Care of [live] crawfish at home before preparation". This section states that we should "protect [crawfish] from exposure to the sun and from being crushed." With this quote in mind let's recall that pick up here is from 9-11am, and the sacks of crawfish are left out in the parking lot exposed to the sun on a hot summer day. We can all agree that leaving crawfish in the sun for over 1.5 hours is a much more effective method of killing crawfish than submerging them in water for 20 minutes. David stated that he is considering adding a disclaimer on the website about killing crawfish through purging to avoid dealing with deadloss issues. I hope this review helps others that are falsely accused of "drowning" crawfish. David and Angie, your opinion that purging crawfish will kill them is not accurate. Stop spreading misinformation and blaming customers to avoid taking accountability for improperly handling your crawfish. I expected much better from this company, and I am disappointed in the ill-informed, condescending attitude I received from both of you.

    Boiled Crawfish

Amazing service and always transparent about what you are getting. Dont have to worry about your order not being there! The boiled pick ups are the best crawfish you can get. Always soaked and not sprinkled. The seasoning is just enough heat to get your nose running while letting you feast.

First time ordering live crawfish to cook at home. I contacted David because on the website, it didn't give me an option to order 15 pounds. He was kind enough to contact the distributor and order 15 pounds for the next day. I picked up the crawfish at his warehouse, and he was very kind to walk me through the cooking instructions and give me pointers. I 100% recommend ordering from David.

So I'm stalking my own profile and I see i need to update this review. If you're going to have a crawfish boil, this is really the only real choice in town. I've bought from CCC several more times over the last few years and they are fantastic. Great prices, great product, and my first ordering experience was a fluke.

I bought 60lbs of live crawfish and couldn't have been more satisfied. I will be using the Cajun Crawfish Company from now on!

I was traveling in the day before the event and really needed them to provide everything from A to Z. I really don't host parties like this and really didn't have a good idea of what I needed or what to ask for. Lisa didn't make me try and decide on the exact menu, she did it for me and that was a huge help. I just made some tweaks to the menu and updated her with the RSVPs as we got closer so she could adjust quantities. Everything they did just completely blew away any expectation I had. The meat and cheese display was gorgeous and delicious. LIsa suggested some items that sounded a little boring to me but she promised they were delicious. She wasn't just over selling it. Every bite of everything was delicious. Even the salsa for the chips and dips was one of the best I've ever had. The queso was a huge hit as well. They make these little twice baked baby potato bites that were out of this world. You'd think a chicken skewer would be boring, but not these. They had a glaze on them and were perfectly cooked and easy to eat at a party. The sliders were just amazing. The "Texas Caviar" was a huge hit.Everything was clearly made with quality ingredients and the presentation was perfect. They provided literally everything for the guests down to little baby forks for the cheese. We opted for staff to help manage the offerings and food and it was worth every penny. Chef Matt was busy assembling fresh hors hor d'oeuvres while Cindy and Mary were diligently attending to the guests. They mastered the art of being there when needed but not over doing it. They passed the appetizers which was such a classy touch to the experience. Matt took great care in preparing each and every item. He made them look as delicious as they were. I could go on and on about every little detail they executed perfectly. Every guest commented multiple times about how delicious the food was and how wonderfully it was presented. They arrived early, setup in perfect time for the event and then cleared everything out and wiped down the clubhouse kitchen as if they were never there. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Based on my experience, this company excelled at the trifecta of Service, Food, and Experience. Priceless catering was the key to make our party special for my parents. Bravo!

My…read moreexperience with them in March exceeded any/all expectations, so I had to use them again for our company's fiscal year-end lunch. For our first lunch, I went with the Fajita Feast, and my mouth is watering just thinking about it... the food is THAT good! And their black bean, corn and avocado salad has the most incredibly delicious flavor - I literally ate it for a week (added it to scrambled eggs, used in quesadillas, etc.). If they could bottle that up, I would always have it in my fridge. Our lunch last week was just as amazing as our first experience, and equally delicious! The team is fantastic... Lisa, Christy, Chef Duane, Matt... truly amazing, and they know how to take food and catering to the next level.
