It was so cute and creative. Honestly, the best cake I've ordered so far. Aside from the cuteness of the cake, it tasted amazing. I wasn't sure what I was going to get as far as filling, but I asked Selina for recommendations. Because I couldn't decide between the two, she suggested maybe getting marble w/ white chocolate ganache on one tier and the vanilla cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries on the other. I knew I wanted something perfect for summer. Light, cooler on the palate, with fruit. I decided to go with the bavarian cream w/ fresh strawberries filling for the entire cake. Oh my goodness, it was exactly what I expected. Two points I wanted to touch on that could've been better as far as my experience: 1) The company emailed me a few days later after placing my order and requested payment. I'd already paid in full when I placed the order initially. I was told it was an administrative issue. No problem after that. 2) My husband went to pickup the cake the day of our son's baptism/1st birthday. Whoever was there that Saturday morning forgot to give my husband the "smash cake" (small cake 1-year-old gets to have and play with / smash). Dream Cakes, however, did call that morning and apologized and suggested that they drop it off at our event location. Luckily, it was only 15 minutes away from their bakery / office. Overall, I'm so happy with the cake I ordered. I would definitely order from Dream Cakes again and would recommend it to any friends / family. Please plan ahead as they need advanced notice -I believe 3 weeks in advance. AND, make sure you look at your order in full upon pickup if you can. Good job, Dream Cakes!

Their online gallery was impressive, so I was eager to contact them to come up with some ideas. Selina was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I sent a picture as a starting off point, but what they accomplished was above and beyond what I expected. Not only did it look incredible, it tasted amazing also! Great texture and flavors. The adults were shocked that it was a real cake. They thought it was part of the party decorations! The kids loved it; not a crumb left on their plates. It was such a great experience from beginning to end; I will be back again and again.

I ordered online for a 10:30 cake pickup but got a text that it was ready at 10am. We had the strawberry lychee cake which was nice and light and the favorite 'not too sweet'. The store itself had so many options and coming in the morning they had a huge selection. The service was fast and friendly for pickup too.

As employees were already putting away the bread, I politely asked if I could grab a piece before everything was picked up. I was told that the bread was being moved to the front and that someone would assist me there. While I waited, two other groups entered after me. They heard the same information and ended up being helped before I was, despite the employees knowing that I had been waiting first. I politely asked twice for assistance and was told to continue waiting while the other groups were served. What made the situation more frustrating was that the customers ahead of me were taking a long time deciding what they wanted. I had already put on a plastic glove and was prepared to select my own bread, but I was told that wasn't necessary because an employee would help me. While waiting, I witnessed one of the teenagers from a group point directly at the bread, and another teenager pushed their hand into it. This happened in front of the employees, and no one addressed the situation or reminded them not to touch the food. As someone who was trying to follow proper sanitation practices, I found this very concerning. Not only did this happened once but 2,3 times infront of them. Yet nothing was addressed. After being ignored, waiting while others were served ahead of me, and seeing unsanitary behavior go unaddressed, I decided to leave without making a purchase. I was disappointed by both the customer service and the lack of attention to food handling standards.

The marzipan cookie with toasted almonds on top made me stop talking for a moment and consider not sharing. The texture, the almond flavor, and the toasted almond were all unmatched. The test that mattered most came from my friend's mother, who had just landed from Tehran and approached the cake with the same scrutiny she brings to anything meant to resemble the desserts she grew up with. She attempted to find a flaw. She takes a bite of the Bibi Nescafe cake, said it was the same, said it was not, repeated the comparison, and could not believe herself. She finished it confused and could not find a reason not to liked it. For anyone familiar with Persian baking standards, that sequence functions as a reliable endorsement. ChixCakes is impossible to find. Their website does not mention Chicago, almond cookies, walnut cookies, or Persian cakes, and it doesn't show up in a search engine unless you already know their name. It's like you need to know someone to find them. My friend, who knew they existed, still spent twenty minutes trying to locate them online without success.
