Lauren is incredible. I'm beyond pleased with the service she provided. I asked for a custom cake for my boyfriends birthday. She recreated it to be pretty much identical! Everyone's reaction was amazing including my bf. I wasn't even sure that he knew I got him the cake, he thought his friends surprised him! He legit loveddddd it and everyone in the restaurant ( mastros steakhouse ) was obsessing over it. They acted like they never seen a custom cake haha! I ordered a custom Wall-E/space themed cake and had a great experience. Lauren was very polite, responsive, and upfront about everything. I had, what I thought, a lot of requirements and she was able to take all of them and turn them into a very nice cake. The only (very minor) downside was that pickup and delivery are based on distance from the Woodland Hills area, which was further away than I initially thought. I am very thankful for the delivery service, and that Lauren took the time to drive out to LA and sit in the horrific traffic on a Friday evening. These were some of the best cupcakes I have tasted. At the last minute (the week prior), I ordered a wedding cake, cupcakes, Rice Krispies and strawberry towers all for a wedding. I sent Lauren, the owner (who operates in Illinois and Los Angeles) emails with descriptions as well as EXACT PHOTOS of the items I wanted and the EXACT COLORS, the desserts should be. I made sure to be as descriptive as possible so that it would be easy for her and there would be no issues. I thoroughly and many times explained the wedding colors (which the main color was Rose gold or blush with ivory and navy blue accents). I even paid her ridiculous "last minute fee" (which it shouldn't matter when I order, you either have availability or you don't). Lauren didn't think that she would be able to find rose gold/blush for the cake, but we discussed coming as close to it as possible), however, right before she invoiced me, she sent me a photo of rose gold coloring she'd found, and charged me extra for it and for the overnight delivery. I agreed and was invoiced a total of $700 for everything (which was great considering). The strawberry towers I sent her were pink and ivory with candy pearls, and the Rice Krispies were to be "drizzled" with rose gold or blush and candy pearls, the cupcakes were supposed to be rose gold with shimmer powered and the CAKE! It was 3 layers (top: rose gold or blush, middle: ivory, and bottom: a marveled navy blue). I paid Lauren a $45 delivery fee even though she said she didn't have time to deliver the items to the wedding. We agreed that she would drop everything off to the bride the night before but that EVERYTHING WOULD BE SECURED to allow easy transport to the venue. What Lauren delivered was NOT what I ordered. I am assuming she was incapable of creating the rose gold (or even blush)that I paid her for, that she charged me extra for! She delivered (at midnight) a navy blue and ivory cake with NO BOX, NO NOTHING!!! Just a cake on a cardboard circle..... it had these horrible oversized synthetic flowers on it (why not edible flowers) The strawberries? Navy blue and ivory with white pearls and synthetic flower fillers (I'm assuming she grew tired of dipping strawberries and said "eff it"), the cupcakes were for sure "store brought" and had a regular white icing on it, when I clearly said rose gold. Also I asked her to make them in chocolate, lemon and vanilla. She made strawberry and chocolate..... And not a Rice krispy in sight. Despite my sending photos, NOTHING and I mean nothing was done that I asked. She obviously wasn't capable of doing what I asked, and never once bothered calling me before making the decision to omit the main color and change the entire color scheme. The cake and all of the desserts honestly looked as if they belonged at my grandmothers funeral. It was awful and the bride was in tears on HER wedding day. I attempted to reach out to Lauren, and she wouldn't answer nor respond to my text UNTIL I contacted PayPal to hold the funds I'd paid her until she fixed it (that's all we wanted was for her to fix it). She finally reached out and gave a half as$ed apology and then proceeded to try to say it was a "miscommunication". She then lied and tried to say she had attempted to call me multiple times about the colors. She didn't. The only time she called me was at midnight on her way to deliver the cake. Oh and she text after she dropped the cake off to say "I forgot the Rice Krispies in the back seat"..... she never made them in the first place! If you know that you're being paid to bake for a wedding, and you forgot anything, I think you should turn around and deliver it. Very long story short, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS BAKERY!!!!!! You will regret it. Anyone who would not take responsibility or be able to empathize or care about ruining a wedding cake and being as careless as she was should not be recommended for any events. Jamie cakes, Hansen's, Mary's cakes, are ALL great bakeries in Los Angeles tht unfornately has no time on that week to bake for us. She only offered to refund the Rice Krispies. She never addressed the fact that she said she could do rose gold and charged me for it. I've contacted PayPal and will be getting my money back. read more

Great went bad quickly While planning the biggest event of my life with my wedding coordinator I was beyond excited! Going over colors, flowers, and a wedding dress was oh so fun! However that 'fun' can turn expensive quick. While budgets begin to set in, my soon to be husband eyebrows began to raise. With a very professional wedding coordinator (who's career is to make a brides day come true ) sending me quotes from vendors all over Los Angeles it was very hard looking at the invoices. Prices from 2k-5k for a wedding cake was something I could not afford. After searching on ig I was able to come across CakeFace ! With the great details that was shown on the profile I had to get a quote! With out informing my coordinator (which is something you're NOT supposed to do) I asked for an inquiry. I was able to understand the company has done one wedding before mine! I was satisfied with the photo of that wedding cake and the quote that I have received! However I needed to know how the cake tasted and decided to go with CakeFace for my bridal shower. With the groom and the father of the bride doing absolutely nothing the day of the bridal shower I had them meet with CakeFace owner to pick up the shower cake. Once they were finsished before I looked at my cake my dad asked "how old is the cake lady? She had on a small shirt with her stomach out" I never paid him any mind because I was so anxious to see my cake. The cake was PERFECT it looked identical of the inspiration I sent! It tasted good too! Because of this success I sort of smirked at my coordinator because I knew I hit the jackpot! Price is great anddddd taste is good! Win win! Wedding day. Wedding coordinator has been in contact with the cake lady I hired behind her back but it's cool, she taste the previous cake so she was ok. It's time for the bride and groom reception revival (where the couple looks at the reception before the guest and take pictures). I'm in awww of how beautiful everything is! I suddenly look over and I see what it looks like 'a big black blop '. I then look at my coordinator who lips informed me that my wedding cake was dropped . She stated the owner was 3 hours late, came in with a crop top (witch was what my dad informed me also). Placed the cake on the stand and left. Cake was still hot and crumbled all over the floor. . So glad I wasn't aware of this before the reception revival. By the time my night was over I received an apology email from the owner of CakeFace. She stated I will receive a full refund and a credit towards another cake. However I just want me day back. I had a really nice table for the cake, special knives and forks also a special song to cut the cake. Memories destroyed Note to brides. Always listen to your wedding coordinator; trust them. Mine informed me not to trust a company that one has done one item of the category you are seeking Note to Lauren: continue to master your dream. Just become more professional.
