In fact, I felt part of the extra cost over a run-of-the-mill cake baker was justified with the fact that I knew from the first meeting that this was one part of the event I wouldn't need to worry about at all. Aside from the first brainstorming meeting, choosing our flavor selection, sending inspirational photos/swatches, timing and payment, there was no extraneous follow-up needed, no info mix-ups, no dramarama with other vendors &c. This was especially a treat since I was planning long-distance. Oh, and I'm told the various flavors were also delicious. I have to admit, I didn't get to try much of it, so I'm really excited to try the top of the cake in about a year.. As Jessica A. said in her review, while the cake is (mostly) gone and eaten, it'll be a conversation piece for years, I'm sure. These folks were probably my favorite vendor, of all the ones I had to deal with.

This 1 star is based off of customer service alone. The work she does is beautiful and I am still disappointed that we didn't get to experience it. I am sure it tastes great too. I reserved a date (Sep 1) for a cake 3 MONTHS in advance- she told me she only needed 4 weeks. I have purchased many cakes from different people and bakeries and typically they reach out closer to the date to get a game plan going- as a customer I have never had to reach out to make sure they saved my date. In mid August , I realized I never heard from her in regards to my order, so I reached out to make sure that she is still available. I wanted to "confirm the date" because we were leaving for a week long vacation- which I specified in my email. She responded she was available and that we should finalize plans that week. Well, I was on vacation- AS I PREVIOUSLY TOLD HER- so I responded right when I got back. She responded not immediately, but 2 days later that she gave away my spot because I never finalized plans with her!!! I am sorry, but this is absolutely NO way to run a business. I would 100% understand if she specified a date in her email that we had to finalize plans, but the fact that I had to reach out in the first place to confirm the date myself and let her know I would be out of town- I am speechless how she thought it was good business to just give my spot away without zero warning or policy. In her email saying "let's finalize details this week" I took that as "when you're back from vacation" it should have said "Since you are going out of town, let's finalize details now and let me know how many people this will feed, flavor, etc by ______date". This is her business, shouldn't she be the one asking the details and the questions for the order? This cake was for my son who is about to be 4...and because it is Labor Day weekend...there wasn't one bakery who could make a cake for me that short in advance. So, my son will go without a cake for his birthday. If you want to use her, just be prepared that you will be the one to reach out, and if you don't respond due to being on vacation (that you told her about), etc., your spot will be given up because she won't inform you that you have to have your details in by a specific date. Give her details IMMEDIATELY to avoid this happening to you with no warning.

The promised river of herb garlic butter was missing, which left the meat a bit dry and bland. I ordered it with Egg Noodles and was expecting wide noodles like that shown in pictures of the noodles as a side dish. Instead, they were more like thin overcooked spaghetti. I was hoping that the missing butter from the chicken would be found in the bed of noodles, but it wasn't there either. I'll probably try it again, as I want to try some of their other dishes. Maybe it's better if eaten at the restaurant.
