I found Uffda Donuts on yelp and asked my adorable husband if he wouldn't check it out, he did and both of us were very pleased. there was no taste of oil just the beautiful taste of a twist donut. We came towards end of the day, so it was probably our own fault, but the donuts were a bit dry and didn't seem like anything special. Our options at the end of the day were limited as to be expected with a donut spot. Standard if not slightly higher than elsewhere prices - they're going for the more fancy, decorated and unique donut style. Counter service was okay and the space is okay too - a photo op wall but nothing super elevated. Won't go out of our way to come here again but they have some unique toppings and styles! read more

I brought my son here last week for his birthday breakfast! Service was attentive and quick, the variety of donuts and pastries available is fantastic, and the coffee was good. We had the whole space to ourselves, as the café was empty. Everyone was taking their orders to go. It's the best old-fashioned doughnut I've ever had, and my mother-in-law said her apple fritter was delicious. Both of my kids chose the Oreo specialty donuts, and neither of them could finish because they were on the very sweet side. But they had leftovers for after school! After seeing this place in multiple TikTok's, I knew I had to give it a try! This place is located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking. Walking in, you will notice it is connected to Great harvest bread. I haven't gotten a chance to try them yet, but I've heard good things! The decor here is ok. It didn't really draw me in and I was ok just taking my treats to go. I went around 1pm and they were sold out of a lot of items already (good sign)! The service was quick. The person who took my order was soft spoken and polite. The food: The blueberry filled doughnut was very good! The texture of the doughnut was chewy, soft and the perfect amount of glaze. The blueberry filling wasn't too sweet but there was a decent amount of it! Overall GREAT doughnut! I also tried the banana cream pie. The "whipped cream" had a very fake kind of taste and was almost dried out... not very tasty. The cookie was also soggy. So I wish they would add that when you order it. The banana chips on top also were not very crunchy. The banana cream was just ok. The doughnut itself was actually very good! So may be this was just not the right flavor for me. We have been looking for a new donut spot since ours closed down. Have been looking at this place for a while so we thought we would try it. They have a couple tables outside and their signage is cute. We walked in and the place looked clean enough, lots of variety in donuts, it was Thursday so there were some vegan options. You could hear people in the back, but there was nobody behind the counter. We waited a couple minutes then called out to get their attention. Pretty sure they knew we were there. I ordered a banana crème pie donut and an iced vanilla latte. My partner ordered an apple fritter, bismark, and a mocha. The donuts came out right away, but the coffee took longer than it should have considering we were the only ones in there. The donuts were ok, not great. The dough was overcooked so the donuts were a bit dry, and there was something wrong with the Apple fritter that my partner couldn't quite identify-maybe bad cinnamon? Maybe just overcooked and flavorless? It was tough to chew. The coffees were ok. They came in the sort of cups where you don't need a straw, which I like, but they didn't mix it up at all so I had to waste a straw just to stir it. Also, the lid didn't fit right. I know that isn't their fault, but I took a drink of my coffee and it spilled all down my shirt. Overall, our experience got some food in our bellies, but we probably won't be back. In early December, I was streaming Fox 9 Good Day. Uffda Donuts had opened a new store in Maple Grove. In late December, I was in Maple Grove. I was fuelling my rental car. Across from this gas station was Uffda Donuts. I remembered the donut segment that I had seen online. I needed to visit this donut joint afterwards. This donut store is next to Great Harvest Bread Co., in a small plaza. When you walk into the store, there isn't a wall that separates the two places. There was lots of parking in this plaza when I was here. I backed into a spot and walked in. There were two folks seated in the store, savouring baked goods. There was one person ahead of me. It allowed me to take a good look at all baked goods that were available and decide what I wanted. The owner, Mary Sang, and her hubby, came from Cambodia. They love Minnesota so much that they decided to use a Minnesota saying in the name of their business. Uffda is a Scandinavian saying that can express surprise, bafflement, or dismay, depending on context. Some equivalents: - Oh, dear - Oh, *#$! - Ugh - Oy This place prides itself with its scratch-made donuts. Some are made vegan or gluten-free, depending on the day. I wanted to get a couple of items. My eyes lit up looking at everything. I got the following items: - Apple fritter - Strawberry-filled donut The woman behind the counter was competent, but wasn't the warmest soul that you'll encounter on this planet. I paid with a credit card. All went well. I thanked the woman who handed me my goodies in a cute bag. I headed to my car and tore into the apple fritter first. The apple fritter was amazing. It had lots of apple bits with cinnamon. There was glaze on top that made this fritter sweet, but it wasn't disgustingly gross. It was the best apple fritter that I have had in the while. I had the strawberry-filled donut when I got back to my hotel room. The reason why I didn't devour it earlier was because it had sugar all around it. It would make for a messy eating experience in a car. It was better to be messy in a hotel room. I liked the strawberry filling. It wasn't overly sweet. It was generous. The donut was fluffy and yummy. It could do without the excessive sugar coating around it. I enjoyed my baked goods from Uffda Donuts. If you like fancier donuts, you need to visit this place. Dude, these donuts are delicious! (As my kids like to say). I'm not just talking about the fancy creative ones. Even the basics are a notch above everywhere else. The Old Fashioned comes in plain and sugared, and they're both amazing. Crisp and toasty on the outside; soft and tender on the inside. The Boston Cream comes with a generous blob of custard inside. Who is sick of the almost dry ones that you get at the grocery store? The custard even tastes like real homemade egg custard, not just cornstarch pudding. The Vanilla Glazed and the Red Velvet are both good, not too sweet. There are so many places that have gorgeous over-the-top donuts that taste dry and old. The service was friendly but because there was a line, the staff did seem overwhelmed and had to walk around each other often- this made it kind of hard to hear each other. The space is small but I love how it's connected to Great Harvest Beard Co next door- making it easy to stop by both for local baked goodies. Some small criticisms I have are: 1. The donuts are kinda the same- just with different filling + whipped cream. 2. The glazed donuts were not dry which is great but was a little undercooked for my preference. 3. All the donuts we got were very sweet- would have been nice to see a savory donut or something tarty to contrast out the sweetness. 4. Skip the drinks. Most of the drink menu wasn't available yet and for the ones that were, the drinks we got here were kind of watery. Maybe it'll get better in time. I've been here several times since it opened and have tried different options each time. Let me start with I am A big fan of the team, local business is the best and I got bread at great harvest regularly before Uffda opened. This place is different than many donut shops in Minnesota. Their donuts are created with the same intentionality and passion as some of the great bakers in our state and I had Tobies as the standard for Minnesota and Uffda has surpassed them with creativity and variety. I am a classic guy and the glazed donut without the hole was a new variation for me. Their apple variations and seasonal option seem to be a hit as pumpkin and apple are are the rage this fall. Closed Monday and Tuesday here are a few things to know. The classics sell out quick. If you are picky get their prior to 9 AM or settle for what's left it's still delicious. The donuts aren't cheap 2$ plus a donut is standard and they are about to expand the menu in the week to come. Coffee drinks and food will round out the menu. I would also advise you to have time! I am not a big Doughnut person but I do appreciate a really good one. If you are into trying specialty doughnuts this is the place for you. One of my coworkers stopped and picked up a box of doughnuts for us on the way to work. She got different flavors and so we decided to try a bite of each. She bought pistachio, coconut Caramel, ube, Maple Bacon and a chocolate frosted one. My favorite was hands down Ube and second favorite was the Pistachio. The Ube really has that distinct Ube flavor in each bite. Pistachio was on the milder side of pistachio flavor but combined with the crunchy texture of the cake Doughnut it was perfect. When I heard they had gluten free donuts every Wednesday, I had to go. They had 5 different "flavors" of gluten free donuts. They are all the same base donut but with different toppings...yes toppings..not just frosting. I chose the chocolate cherry and double chocolate. The chocolate cherry was cherry frosted donut with chocolate drizzle with chocolate crème filling. The double chocolate was similar but with chocolate frosting. Both were very very good. The donut was more like an old fashioned donut than a raised or cake donut. When I went to pay, I realized why it's called Uffda...$7.90 for two donuts! UFFDA! However, on a special occasion (like being gluten free but wanting a donut), probably worth it. They had a ton of other delicious looking donuts as well. My experience was beyond frustrating. I placed an online order for their premium vegan donuts on Friday for Saturday pickup. I drove 30 minutes to get there, only to be told they don't offer vegan donuts on Saturdays. (Even though my confirmation said to pickup on Saturday). I was told to come back Sunday and that no note was needed, (even though I insisted they leave one, they responded "just say your name." They'll know and have the order ready. So Sunday comes, and I call before making the drive again, only to be told my order was marked as picked up the day before, which means the workers marked it as picked up instead of leaving the note. After explaining the situation again, they apologized and said they'd pull donuts for me. I make the trip again, but this time I'm handed their classic donuts, even though I paid for premium (which i mentioned on the phone) Only after I pointed it out again in person did I get refunded the difference. Between the lack of communication, poor handling of my order, and multiple wasted trips, I won't be returning. Hugely disappointing experience. read more

So this is a fancy donut place that opened in Maple Grove. It's next to Great Harvest Bread Company and seems to be sharing space and maybe a kitchen. As far as I've seen, this is the only fancy donut place in Maple Grove. Which is kind of surprising considering it's a pretty large city. Then again, Maple Grove also doesn't have a movie theater. And seems to have less independent restaurants than Plymouth. Going beyond Maple Grove, these are still probably the best donuts in the area. Miles better than Dunkin or a grocery store. Definitely better than YoYo in Minnetonka and Funner Brothers in Golden Valley, although it's also more expensive than the latter. And fancier. Did I mention these are fancy donuts? The line right now--at least on a Saturday--is substantial. Plan for 45 minutes at around 9 am. Is it with the wait? I think so. They're really great donuts. Though it might be easier to come by on like a Thursday morning. It looks like they have plans to add fancy coffee and already have croissants and some other breakfast options. We have visited Uffda a few times since they've opened. They always seem to have a regular flow of customers and it's nice that it's connected inside to Great Harvest. Parking is very limited and I have always had to park around the corner. Once inside the space is small so if there is a line it can get crowded. Seating is very limited but there is a cute photo op wall once you get your donuts. It's an Instagram-able location. Once you get up the cases you better be ready to order. I've always felt a little rushed in picking donuts and since the varieties are vast it is hard to take them all in and know exactly what you want right away. They priced their donuts as classic, special and fancy and their half dozen and dozen donuts are priced accordingly based on the mix as well. Classic dozen is $19.60, half classic half special or fancy is $24.95 and a dozen special/fancy will set you back $33.95. The donuts themselves are unique for maple grove and the fancy and special come with a variety of flavored icings, fillings and toppings like cereal, bacon, marshmallows, cookies, etc. There is so much going on with the fancy ones that it's difficult to have a full one since they are so rich. The downside to that is that if they are saved for any longer than a few hours they start to become soggy from all the "stuff". So, don't buy extra to save them for a few days. They are best eaten the same day. They are good donuts for a special occasion but a bit pricy to be the regular go-to spot. read more

Went at 9:00 on a Friday. Donuts were either overcooked or OLD! The bottom layer was separated and peeling off. The actual donuts were stale. The Boston cream inside looked like old cheese. The other donuts that were glazed or iced looked like an extra layer of glaze or icing was added on top of an old layer (the hole in the middle was filled with icing, so, no hole).
