The only thing more amazing than the attention to detail and creativity is the cake itself! Cakes To You has made so many cakes, cookie trays, and desserts for our family functions over the years and they always receive rave reviews, so it was a no brainer to go to them for our wedding cake too. The selection of unique flavors, from champagne to butter pecan, made choosing our cake so hard. Luckily, we were able to make each layer a different flavor! I came across this cake shop after working out. I recently got engaged and one of the many things I was looking forward to is cake tasting.now I did not set up an appointment or anything I just simply wanted to taste some of the cupcakes the sold. They had different cake examples in store if you wanted to purchase a cake for a child's birthday, weddings, or celebrations. I bought 4 cupcakes and a couple of them were cream filled and one carrot cake and one chocolate cupcake. I will have to say the cupcakes were a bit dry for my taste. I did do in the afternoon towards closing so maybe they taste differently than if I were to purchase when they had opened. I myself like a cupcake that's moist and I don't feel like I need a sip of water immediately after eating a bite or two. The cupcakes themselves looked beautiful and appetizing though. When we were wedding cake shopping, I wanted to make sure we decided on a place that could provide both a beautiful cake but one that tasted good as well. My husband's family lives in Mentor, and had previously had pleasant experiences with Cakes to You. So we decided to try it out, even though our wedding reception was in downtown Cleveland. Turned out not to be an issue at all, as they offered delivery services all the way to downtown. After our delicious cake tasting, we couldn't decide which flavor we enjoyed most, so we decided to go with several layers as follows: Champagne, Black Tie-n-Tails, Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Filling. The day of the wedding, I was taken-back by how beautiful our wedding cake turned out. Cakes to You brought my Pinterest wedding cake vision to life!! We wanted something simple yet elegant, and that's exactly what we got. However, I'm not sure what was better, how beautiful it turned out- or how much everyone enjoyed the taste of it. Well the staff was friendly but the cupcakes in the display for sale were not very good. Cold, hard and dry, At least the one I purchased. The chocolate icing tasted like plain store bought Duncan Hines chocolate frosting, that was 2 inches thick...I could have saved the $3.50 and made a dozen cupcakes that would have been better. read more

I needed a graduation cake in the summer of 2018 and started my bakery quest about a month before the grad party. I sampled cupcakes from about a dozen bakeries in Lake County. Cakes to You won hands down. They did a beautiful job decorating the grad cake. It tasted yummy, and so did the icing. The leftovers were still moist a couple days after the party! In April of '19 I ordered a birthday cake with a SCUBA theme. Debbi didn't have any pictures. She asked me if I trusted her. I told her to go for it. She didn't disappoint! I picked up a cake that totally boggled my brain!!!! ..at the office we had *hamburger weds*...so I told Debbie what the theme was...the staff created a HAMBUGER CAKE...it was sliced in half..then a layer of something to look like a burger..top replace, then *lettuce* and *tomato* all around the cake between the slices!!! white icing was used to look like mayo and the top had *sesame seeds* on top!!! it look like a sculpture it was so beautiful!!...when I got it back to the office nobody wanted to cut it it was so amazing!!!..this is just one of about 12 cakes the team at cakes to you has created for me...each one being more amazing than the previous one!!....the taste of the cake matched the design...VERY light, a bit sweet but not sugary...sheer perfection on every level....what an amazing creative team!..have an idea? bring it there and they will create it!!! read more

They made a specialty cake that was shaped like a possum from a photo that I gave them. The cake looked and tasted AWESOME!!! It also was ready when I requested. I highly recommend this bakery. read more
