I'm so sad to see so many people had such a disappointing experience at Cakes by Nadine! I knew as soon as I tasted one of her cakes at my cousins birthday party that Nadine would absolutely need to make my future wedding cake!! Fast forward a few years and sure enough, Nadine constructed the most beautiful and mouth watering cake for my wedding! I scheduled to meet with Nadine one Saturday (she gives free samples on Saturdays!) without the slightest idea what I wanted my wedding cake to look like. She was so patient with me and she worked through it, really paying attention to every word I said and got so creative. She drew up a sketch of what she gathered that I wanted. When I saw my cake on our wedding day I was speechless. It was more beautiful and perfect than I could have EVER imagined!!! Nadine is extremely talented, and it's very obvious she loves what she does. She is expensive, yes, but she only makes a few wedding cakes every weekend so they are high quality. We ordered our wedding cake for our wedding May 20 of this year. Our bottom layer was pretty good obviously ate it at the wedding and enjoyed it other than the cake being a little dry. We went to go eat our top layer last week because we are moving and could not keep it frozen any longer. When we went to eat the cake we realized the filling was not what we asked for. Scraped it off the cake to confirm and taste it by itself. I called and told them about the issue today and told them how highly disappointed we were. They told us that In their records we received the correct filling but there is absolutely no flavor to it once so ever and they didn't offer any kind of small refund or to make us some kind of small replacement or anything didnt seen to even care that I was clearly upset over the matter. Extremely sad we won't get to enjoy our top layer of our cake because it is extremely plain.. but glad I didn't wait a year to find this out on our special 1 year wedding anniversary or I would have been about 1000 times more upset... I got this cake because my mom had her wedding cake from here and I loved it so I am sad to say the quality has significantly decreased in the last couple years.. read more

After my daughter started watching Cake Boss she wanted a special cake like that for her birthday. So 3 years ago I found this place and asked her to make a 3d tabby cat cake. I was stunned when we picked it up! It was beautiful and exactly how my daughter wanted it! She was even able to find a princess crown to put on top of the kitties head. :) The cake was so good it was the first time I never had cake left over. The following year I requested a double tier princess cake with a castle. Nadine did it again! It was gorgeous! I even had parents come over from other parties asking me where I had gotten the cake. Once again I came home with 0 cake. lol Today I am picking up my 3rd cake from her for my daughters birthday. :) It is themed Monster High and is going to be a lg hot pink coffin. I know I will NOT be disappointed. This time we are getting marble cake with fudge inside and butter cream frosting. :) Her cakes are always presented great and taste even better than they look! I contracted Nadine to make a cake for my wedding last month. It was a pretty simple wedding cake with not a lot of frills so this should have been easy for them. Despite our initial pleasant interaction with her, the rest of the process was a bit of a nightmare (Don't be fooled by Nadine's old lady charm... she is shrewd and deceptive when it comes to making a buck). We worked with over a dozen vendors for our wedding and Nadine was the worst... by far. Nearly all of the traits that we love in most of our vendors (promptness, fairness, good personality, punctuality, well-organized) Nadine lacked. She was late for meetings, failed to call back or follow up on important details and was unresponsive and disorganized when we had questions or concerns. We set up an initial meeting with her partner Jean who I would describe as flaky and abrasive. Her role was to understand what we wanted our cake to look like, approve the design, give us the cost information and book our date for the wedding. Though she managed to approve our cake design, she apparently got the cost wrong to the tune of $200 despite me submitting a drawing explaining everything we wanted on the cake a week after our initial meeting. It took ~ 40 minutes to have her understand our simple "minimalist" cake design... If you've dreamt up a design or had aspirations for more than the crusty old cakes that you see in Nadine's display case, turn around and walk out now.... better yet run. Nadine doesn't "get it." They are way out of touch with modern designs and today's brides' concerns and vision. Don't expect Nadine to email you or call for that matter.. expect her to lose paper work. Expect her to forget that you put down a down payment. Don't expect to pay with a credit card! You will be lucky if she shows up to your final consultation meeting! We chose Nadine because we thought we could save a few hundred bucks on the cake... we were wrong. When it came down to it they ended up charging us more than we originally agreed to on our contract putting her pricing inline with many of the other "more expensive" bakeries. Nadine called me the day before my wedding to see if the flower and ribbon on the cake was to my lliking... as if I had nothing better to do the day before my wedding! The color of the rose was nothing like the color swatch I gave her and she said there was nothing she could do about it. I told her this is why I had asked her to show me an example of the rose at our final meeting (which she did not have and called me a liar saying she never agreed to do this) On the day of the wedding, the rose was more of a yellowish color than rose color as a I had requested and the ribbon was a much darker grey than I had asked for. And to think I ended up paying more in the end for poor customer service, added stress, and a cake that didn't look like what I had requested! What a disappointment! Nadine acknowledged her frosting has a bad taste but "there's nothing I can do about it." Ummm... Why would u buy a cake U can't eat?! Nadine refused to give any of the $ back and hung up on me. I don't know why people have bad reviews for this place! I had my wedding June 2015 and my cake was amazing. It was beautiful & and tasted amazing I got a lot of compliments from my cake and flowers. The girls bouquets were huge and so pretty. I would recommend them. read more

I was visiting Lynn for flowers next door this morning when I saw a gentlemen exit Nadine's. I let him know I was visiting Lynn and before I could ask about their cakes he rudely cut me off and told me not to bother him. I have Never written a negative review before...
