Waiter that never brings you the change.

This is in a very touristy area so that should be a red flag. Service was slow. Ordered some salmon and told they only had tuna but we were not told it was more expensive. Watched as waiter would not bring change to anyone so many tables gave up and did not get their change. He ignored them so much we thought it was a bit funny till he did it to us. We were up charged $5 euro on the tuna and never got our $2 euro in change. The waiter never showed a proper bill so probably he pocketed the up charge and the change. We always tip even when it isn't necessary but this was rude. Seems this restaurant is not interested in their reputation. Maybe the restaurant doesn't know this is going on. I will post a pic of the employee. (The tuna was very good)

Salmon Carpaccio with a vinaigrette sauce that was a bit overwhelming.

Everywhere you go in Barcelona, sexy ham (jamón ibérico). Seriously, this country is my kind of heaven! I honestly thought this place was just okay overall. The food is decent but nothing outstanding, and definitely overpriced. I'm not sure why the locals all recommend this restaurant; maybe they think tourists will dig it. The main attraction is the **Seafood Paella**. The rice itself may seem to be a bit undercooked, but we were told that's the authentic Spanish way of making paella. It was decent but we actually found better paella at some local mom and pop places. Three of us shared some smaller plates since we weren't too hungry. We had, of course, the **Jamón Ibérico** (one of the main themes of my Spain experience) and I was happy yet again! You would think someone would eventually get used to it, but not I! This dish came with tomato rubbed bread. We also had the **Scallop Croquettes** which were tasty but not many in number (six to be exact). Finally we tried the **Salmon Carpaccio**, which was fresh but very unfortunately doused in a vinaigrette sauce that way overwhelmed the flavor of the salmon. One more round of Jamón Ibérico and were good to go! My only other qualm with this place was the service. While the waiters eagerly assisted our group's larger tables, they practically ignored us until we flagged them down. They must have been thinking "mo money, mo table". DATE TIP: As you've seen, most of my Spain review date tips are related to meat. This is no exception. The jamón here is excellent and will win 'em over for sure!

This restaurant had among the *WORST* service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The waiter literally snarled at us. They didn't bring out TWO of our orders. Be aware they charge for butter, water, bread, and a service charge (€2/person). We were also seated in direct sun when there were many seats in the shade. I am still getting over how rude the waiter was to us. I do NOT recommend, especially if you expect any sort of good service. The food itself is very, very average.

Good service. Good food. However the Paella was very salty and likely made in a shallow pan which made some of it too crunchy

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Gorgeous Cave-Like setting right in the heart of The Gothic Quarter. For food we got: - both Peach and Red Sangria's - maybe the best in Spain. 15 Euros so not cheap - Pan Con Tomate - first time having this dish -- great, - Iberian "Pluma" Acorn Fed Pork - so tender and amazing! - Cod (Bacalao) - perfectly baked I must give a shout out to our amazing waiter LUCAS who spoke excellent english and gave some perfect recommendations. We got here at 7:30 and it was quiet -- but quickly filled up and was totally full by 8:30. It's more expensive than most restaurants but for that you get quality service, superb food, linen napkins, and soft jazz music. We wanted to come again the next night but it was totally booked! Trip Advisor rates this as #57 (as of May 2026) but I think it should be in the top 10. Book a table early guys -- this restaurant will not disappoint you!
