The male librarian is very helpful when I want to ask him on how to make a copy. The female old librarian is gossiping about Asian people and making fun at them. The young teenager is making fun at the Asian populations. Other people are gossiping about other person's life after 4pm. In general, the quality of the people who come to this library are better during the morning , but the quality of the people are getting worse as the day goes by, especially during the evening hours.

I love my neighborhood library! It's pretty spacious and has a good number of tables to study and…read morework on. There is a robust kids area, a community room, and also a teen room to do homework. There are numerous tables lined up against the windows, and plenty of computers for use although I'm not sure if those are only for catalog searches. There is also a quiet study section where there's a bunch of desks lined up like a classroom. The desks are very small (meant for one person) and frankly, I had too many things. Anyways, I came to escape the heat wave and bask in the cool air conditioning while finishing the rest of my work day. I sat in the teen room because I think I pass at 19 (lol), but I had to move shortly since there were few spots with an outlet available. I was able to snag a table against the window that had an outlet nearby. By the way, you don't need a SCCL library card to access the internet, so open to all! I definitely will be coming back to this library to do some work if I don't have any meetings. Compared to Woodland, Los Altos is open for longer and hours and has like 8x the amount of workspace. The library may be a bit outdated, but it gets the job done!

As soon as I slid the $25 over-the-counter, I asked about the room utilization and the room does not allow you to use the TV. You're not allowed to use the resources in the room that are physically there, unless you're a sponsored library program that you have to apply for. When I asked for a refund, they told me payment is nonrefundable, standing in the same conversation standing at the cashier desk. This was probably the worst Customer Service I have ever received. I also talked to three other ladies and they were all three rude in the process of this backhanded info. I am sadly very dissatisfied with this library and won't ever come back!

Did you know that Campbell Library offers mobile printing? You just access the link for Mobile…read moreprinting on their website. Then, type your Library card number and PIN & upload your files or images. There are two print kiosks, one on the second floor just outside the children's area and there's one down below. I think it's half the cost. I paid only $.10 for two black-and-white copies (it's odd because I looked on their website after it says $.15 a copy so not sure if there's a glitch.) It was super easy to use too. Once I arrived I just walked over to the kiosk and typed in my library card number and PIN & viola. (Their printing is also wayyy more user friendly compared to San Jose Public Library.) There's an option if you don't have a library card (you'll need to go in person and someone will help you navigate it.) And of course you can make copies as well as an FYI anyone can get a library card with a valid photo ID, even if you're out of state. Also, as everyone likes to complain, parking has & continues to be a nightmare, that has never changed lol. I don't know why anyone is surprised? Just park on any of the side streets.

Renovations are finished and the Campbell Library has finally reopened!…read more This library has been totally renovated and reopened in May 2026z huge windows, natural light and a feeling of openness abounds. If you have kids, please note that the Children's section is separate from the rest of the library. It is a huge room behind glass doors. It looks quite nice. If I was still a kid, I would have loved to explore this area. The main adult section is downstairs and easy to navigate. I like the Overlook area's comfy chairs and large windows. Kudos to the city of Campbell and all the many sponsors and donors for making this renovated library a reality.

This library is fantastic, situated in a lovely location. Although there is only one study room…read moreavailable for a maximum of one hour, it would be great to have more options. It would also be beneficial to have more San Jose library cards for renewal purposes. The staff is extremely friendly, supportive, and willing to assist. They went above and beyond to help my mother with obtaining her library card, showing great care and kindness. The collection of books is extensive, however, it would be wonderful to see an increase in French and Arabic titles, as they are quite rare in this library as well as other San Jose branches. Overall, I have a deep appreciation for this library and highly recommend it to others.

Northside Library in North San Jose is a very well-used, decent, and modern community library. I…read morehaven't been there in a while until few days ago when I had a whole bunch of expired, used household lithium batteries I had to get rid of. This library has a convenient drop-off point for expired household batteries, so I went there to throw it all away (~25 batteries!). It's located where the copy machine is. The library is tucked away in the back of Rivermark Plaza..... close to Safeway. The library has a dedicated parking lot that's on the smaller side and tends to fill up quickly because of the adjacent park and businesses nearby.

In the summer you can see lots of people hanging out by the tables outside. I studied upstairs for the most part, and it was very quiet and nice. It was usually pretty crowded and it can be hard but not impossible to find a seat. You'll see lots of Stanford and Gunn kids studying here.

It's opened many hours during the week including Sundays till 6PM! We were just visiting this area, and decided to stop by. It's got a welcoming sidewalk area w/several metal owl sculptures/statues greeting you as you approach the entrance. I believe that those are technically for protecting pedestrians, and others who are sitting on the benches on that sidewalk area, and for the safety of the patrons of the cafe who are eating on the patio, but those metal owls are pretty darn cute if you ask me. =) To the right side is Ada's Cafe which is a non-profit set up to employ adults with disabilities to empower them with employment, give them training, and help them become self-sufficient. What a wonderful cause! However, they were not open on the Sunday we visited. They also have a lot information posters and events posted on their window for the public. The first floor of the library houses the info desk, restrooms, a permanent Friends of the Library store, a teens area/room, and Kids Place which is a really bright and colorful children's book section. There's lots of computers, a story-time and hangout area for kids w/their parents, and of course, lots of books! There's also a special art piece on the ceiling of Kids Place, I had to take a picture of it as it's so bright and cheerful. It can get kind of noisy here and the set up does not lend the Kids Place to be separate enough to prevent sounds from traveling to other sections. The second floor has the grown up section w/many book shelves, and tons of other resources like newspapers, magazines, DVDs, etc. There's also several classrooms and meeting/study rooms. We needed some assistance from the librarian/library assistant on the 2nd floor and she was very friendly and kind. The gentleman on the 1st floor also provided some assistance and he was polite. Parking can be a bit challenging, since it's next to a park so it's shared parking, but on this day we were able to find parking quickly as we came later, about an hour and a half before closing. Overall, this is a nice library, and we're glad to have discovered this little gem while just touring the area.

I just wish they allowed access to the SCU computers for alumni, or had guest computers on the second and third floors. I really appreciate that most people here tend to respect the fact that libraries are meant to be quiet. The third floor study room is really nice and boasts an amazing view of the campus. Parking is free on weekends and street parking is available as well! They also offer free 2 hour visitor parking permits (any time after 8 PM is free), and anyone is able to access the library without needing a student ID card prior to 7 PM. Additionally, the Sunstream Cafe is usually open and has a variety of caffeinated beverages & snacks available for purchase. This library is a gem and I love that it closes on the later side.

Terrible service. If I could give zero star, I would. How could a librarian miss one of the…read moretextbook that I returned on time and charge me with 5 hour overdue fee! There's no security camera, and I couldn't prove I returned the book on time. Why should I be the one paying for their mistake? If you're going to return something, be sure to return in person. Oh, and I doubt that any of the staff is going to check on this review, so you can expect the same treatment for a long time.
