    Strip and Rings
    Peter D.

This is an old school place, in most of the best ways. It's a lovely room, all weathered wood and small town charm, a place that hasn't changed in decades, and that's how everyone likes it. This is the kind of restaurant my in-laws are OK with, because even though the prices have crept up with inflation, they still start you with a nice loaf of bread, and your dinner comes with soup or salad (meaning, you don't need to order appetizers unless you need a massive amount of food). Civilized. The main dishes were probably very simple once, and now have been gussied up a bit for the 2020s; my Strip and Rings is still a nice cut of meat, cooked properly, with onion rings, but now it comes with a bacon tomato marmalade and a nice dippings sauce for the rings. However, as I'm sure it did in the 80s, it also comes with some steamed veggies (the same ones that come with everything). My wife's salmon was nothing to write home about, but it was also a solid portion, and a decent value. I would go steak over seafood here every time, however, and the waitress instantly concurred with that when I asked her to pick between the Ahi Tuna and the strip. We started with martinis, and we flagged down the waitstaff for a second round, they immediately assumed we just wanted boxes to pack up the rest of our meals. I think it was less that they were ready to kick us out (although I don't like me much either), and more that their typical clientele doesn't have more than one martini on a Wednesday, because they are heading home early to watch Murder She Wrote reruns. And to be fair, Murder She Wrote rules. All in all, I like it.

In the words of my teenage daughter "we'll need a complimentary wheelbarrow to roll out of here!" We thankfully had a reservation prior to arrival. Although it was quiet at 4pm, the restaurant filled quickly. Our server, Michaela, was outstanding. She was very attentive, yet not intrusive. We didn't have one complaint about any of the meals or desserts. Ambiance was nice, clean interior and bathrooms were well cared for. If a picture is with a thousand words, then enjoy the 11,000 via the pics! We will be back and would highly recommend to all!

Fish fries, huge! And bread loaf

This place really wow'd me. Had to wait a while but dang it was worth it. Take out Friday fish fry was so huge I though my husband was walking in with cake boxes and came with a loaf of bread! So good and so much food was not expensive either.

Went here in a party of four on a Sunday evening after an event at the nearby Genesee County Museum. We made a reservation and were promptly greeted and seated at a nice table in the first floor ding room. The ambiance of the establishment is a mix of turn of the century and earth tone modern, it was an inviting space to spend a few hours. The restaurant was fairly busy but our drink orders were taken and served promptly. The waitress was pleasant and attentive as she brought freshly baked bread to the table. Our entree orders were taken and were a bit delayed in arriving. Our waitress refilled our bread and drinks until we were served. I ordered a short rib special which was quite tasty. I would not hesitate to return if in the area.

We had an excellent dinner here! Ordered appetizers, but we were pleasantly surprised to have delicious bread brought to the table as well. We went casual sandwiches for dinner, but would definitely come back to try more. Overall, a really nice experience. Loved the surprise cookies, icing was a little too much for us, but someone with a seriously sweet tooth would have had a day.

We went here today for their Ice Festival. This year was nothing like previous years but we still had a great time and exceptional food. The head chef and his brother carved an ice sculpture to pay tribute to nurses and firemen. They only had pub food but it was delicious. I have never been disappointed in this place. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the food is always great.

    Very fall festive fire place!

The food is very tasty and I love the artichoke French. I also get their fresh loaf of bread. The soup is yummy too.

What to get: Any of their incredible homemade ice cream flavours What else: The ice cream is homemade Anything else: Did I mention before, it's homemade? Was looking for a place to get the sh** beaten out of me. Came here. Thought it was called "Bruisers." Ended up with sensational ice cream instead. Here's the thing. A lot of ice cream places around here serve up Perry's. It's a local corporation that fills grocery stores with its signature flavours. It's pretty average, at best, although people in WNY seem to like it. But if you're going to go to an ice cream parlour and actually pay for an ice cream, why should it be the same sh** you get in the grocery store? Cut out the middle woman and get it right from the store, save some money. And yet most parlours in these parts do exactly that: buy Perry's from Wegmans or Tops, then sell it at a massive mark-up. I refuse to give those sorts of parlours more than a 4, and I usually give less. Then every now and again you find a gem. Cruiser's is that gem. Not a lot of people drive through LeRoy, NY these days, since most are on the pay-for-play Thruway I-90. But if you were to come East from Rochester on 490, and instead of entering the I-90, you just keep on going , you will soon be in LeRoy, named after a girl named Jennifer LeRoy, maybe. And here in LeRoy, tucked away and hidden on the main street west of the town, is Cruiser's. And it's the homemade ice cream you dreamed of. Was looking for a place to sit around and be pathetic. Came here. Thought it was called "Losers." Ended up with phenom ice cream instead. Owned by Eddie from Eddie And The Cruisers, and also a manufacturing plant for Cruise Missiles and the Cruise Control feature on cars, not to mention a shrine to the great funny-running 5-foot-4 bastion of Scientology, Tom Cruise, this little parlour is as good as any famous one with 1,000 reviews that you've tried in any of the big Yelp cities. I recommend the coffee mocha, the coffee bean, the bananas foster, and any other flavour they recommend. So, so, so deliciously good. It's a tragedy that it's not more popular and beloved with the kids of the region. A lot of people go to the Perry's places because those people are suckers for brand names and don't understand the concept of homemade and local ice cream. Anyone can sell buckets of Perry's. The woman at Cruiser's was telling me how, because they cost a few cents more than the Perry's places (because they make all their own sh** and don't even make much of a profit on it), people complain about the prices. The prices are dirt cheap! The portions are enormous! And some people just don't get it. Do yourself a favour and get down to Cruiser's and try the ice cream. Thanks. But yeah. Was looking for a place to sleep with someone. Literally. Came here. Not literally. Thought it was called "Snoozers." Ended up with yummmmy ice cream instead.
