Best coffee I have had in a long time. Better than Dutch Bros. Starbucks. The server was friendly and informative.

A nice and friendly place to have any meal from breakfast to supper. We were invited turn for three…read moredays for my husband's business trip. The atmosphere is a little aged in that the booths are all of different designs and material. Lots of clutter and various handwritten messages and neon lights to advertise their ice creams and such. We were invited to seat ourselves both times that we went there. And the staff quickly brought our menus. A varied menu with a large selection. I had the Captain's plate- there was no description, but it was listed under seafood, so I hoped for the best. My husband had some variation of a French Dip. Both actually turned out to be delicious. The roast beef in the French Dip was tender and tasty. My husband could tell that it's unlikely that the au jus was homemade, but it was still very good. My favorite part of my Captain's Plate was the fried Oysters. I was a little leery of ordering seafood that far from the coast, but I was pleasantly surprised. We came back 2 days later for breakfast. I had Eggs Benedict and it was very good. I really liked the potatoes that came with it. More like tiny, crisp little French fries than soggy hash browns and my husband and I really enjoyed them! The "hollandaise" sauce was probably from a mix, but still tasty . A little disappointed in the pressed ham that was part of the Eggs Benedict, but it didn't ruin the dish.

The cheapest place to get cans of Cougar Cheese…read more Their hours are limited but we sometimes manage to stop by. Sometimes I get ice cream but usually I'm there to get a small bag of Cougar Cheese or cans of it to give to friends/family we plan to visit. They're $30 per can there (last I checked) and normally $40+ anywhere else (even in Pullman). I often feel like I'm remembering the price incorrectly so I try to pay check on it (both at Ferdinand's and at random stores). I think I saw cans "on sale" for about $50 at a grocery store in Redmond, WA once. They also ship the cheese cans during the colder months but online they're currently $33 (per 30 oz can) + shipping. Tip: WSU's Sensory Science Center is super close by and often needs panelists for food and beverage (including alcohol) studies. They usually thank participants with Ferdinand's gift cards (usually $5-10 but sometimes more) so most of our visits are immediately after participating in a study. They don't have panelist studies every day/week so it's best to get on their email list.

Pretty fun history with this place. Amazing prices with a single scoop coming about $3 (2026 prices!). Staff is friendly. Huckleberry ice cream is very good. A fun destination on a trip for sure!
