The atmosphere is a little aged in that the booths are all of different designs and material. Lots of clutter and various handwritten messages and neon lights to advertise their ice creams and such. We were invited to seat ourselves both times that we went there. And the staff quickly brought our menus. A varied menu with a large selection. I had the Captain's plate- there was no description, but it was listed under seafood, so I hoped for the best. My husband had some variation of a French Dip. Both actually turned out to be delicious. The roast beef in the French Dip was tender and tasty. My husband could tell that it's unlikely that the au jus was homemade, but it was still very good. My favorite part of my Captain's Plate was the fried Oysters. I was a little leery of ordering seafood that far from the coast, but I was pleasantly surprised. We came back 2 days later for breakfast. I had Eggs Benedict and it was very good. I really liked the potatoes that came with it. More like tiny, crisp little French fries than soggy hash browns and my husband and I really enjoyed them! The "hollandaise" sauce was probably from a mix, but still tasty . A little disappointed in the pressed ham that was part of the Eggs Benedict, but it didn't ruin the dish.

I ordered one egg soft poached and one piece of toast after being over charged and questioning the amount I paid the waitress told me my finger was close to one egg hash brown breakfast menu item which is right next to the ala carte menu, so yes I paid for food I didn't order She was not willing to correct her mistake and charged me according to where my finger was on the menu not what I ordered. The waitress had attitude and was sure to raise her voice. We did have to send our food back our eggs were hard she took my egg and left my toast so it was ice cold when she returned with the egg. I didn't leave a tip because of her attitude The restaurant is dirty and cobwebs on everything. I won't be back there are much nicer choices in the valley that are clean and where the server listen to what you order not where my hand placement is on the menu.

Within minutes, I was repeatedly invited to sit in a stranger's booth, warned not to stay in town too long or I'd "get pregnant and have to stay..." and asked about my political views before they knew my name. Basic manners are optional, but political screening is not. They made fun of gay people and told a joke about a preacher and a "colored person." If you're not a part of the political party that does that, they'll say that you aren't welcome. I was polite, as I was alone, but I did say, "I will be sitting over here the whole time," the 5th time I was asked to sit in the city council member's booth. One of the woman said, "he's not a pervert, he just plays the part." I did like her but If my husband had gone instead of me the comments would have been different. They might think they were friendly or charming but actually most people would find these comments intrusive and uncomfortable. The bakery isn't responsible for every customer who walks through the door, but if this behavior is common, then it becomes part of the customer experience. I was antsy to get my food and leave... Just a mom grabbing breakfast for my family at 6:45am. They have good food and reasonable prices. The server there was wonderful and so was the man pouring coffee. It's just that some of the patrons act like they don't have mothers, daughters, or decency.

The restaurant is divided into an indoor dining area and a coffee house section. I came here for a quick breakfast and decided to dine in at 7:15 AM on a weekday. [Parking]: Easy parking in the designated parking lot on a weekday morning, but the lot can get crowded during busy lunch hours. With that being said, it shouldn't be difficult to find additional street parking in this part of town. [Atmosphere & service]: Cozy and comfortable vibe. Service was fairly standard and my waitress did offer a coffee refill so a thumbs-up. Live music available on every Friday evenings. [Menu]: Some of Yelp's top recommended items include the Steak Salad, Kale Salad, and Beet Salad. The breakfast menu is served from 7 AM to 10:45 AM Monday to Saturday. It was hard to figure out what their signature dish was so I ended up ordering the Lobster Benedict. *** Lobster Benedict (poached eggs / lobster / sliced tomato / spinach / hollandaise sauce / chives / english muffin - $17): Not horrible, but not amazing either. I could taste a hint of shredded lobster. The hollandaise sauce was alright. The hash browns just weren't as good as those hash browns at Frank's Diner in Spokane. *** One of those places that's fine for a casual local breakfast or lunch, but at the same time this spot is not exactly a must-visit.
