This guy saved me a lot of bucks and I'm still grateful. BMW asked me to get some minor scratches on my rear bumper taken out before returning my lease. They quoted me $400. I went here and the owner said it would cost me a "cheeseburger". I was like, what? So, he used a special compound and the marks were all instantly (almost magically) gone. A few months ago I was in a fender bender. Not knowing what to do, I drove to the Honda Repair shop in Carlsbad. Unfortunately, they did not have a collision service center and referred me to Bradley Allen Autobody instead. This was my first time having to deal with serious car repairs. The desk manager, Julie helped me with the entire process. My car was in such poor condition that I had to leave it there. Julie called Enterprise to request that they pick me up and set me up with a rental. They have a policy about not leaving anything in your car when you leave it at the body shop. Thus, after I picked up my rental at Enterprise I drove back to pick up everything that was in my car (a lot of junk). Julie helped me take stuff from my car to the enterprise car. Because Bradley Allen was not on my insurance's list of certified shops, I had to wait about a week for someone from insurance to give an estimate. Once the estimate was in, Bradley Allen immediately called me letting me know that they were ready to start work on my car. They notified me that they would use after market parts. I was nervous about after market parts and asked them to let me check with insurance. My insurance verified that Bradley Allen was correct and that I could proceed with fixing my car. About a week later I picked up my car and they went over the repairs with me. They notified me that a fog lamp was broken and was not included in the initial estimate. They encouraged me to call my insurance and add it to the insurance claim. Overall, at this point, my car looked great. It's interior was vacuumed out, its windows were clean, and the paint was sparkly. A great part of this experience was that I did not have to deal with coordinating anything with Enterprise. Julie made all the phone calls. I was able to drop off my rental at Bradley Allen and leave it there for someone from Enterprise to pick up. When paying for my repairs, Julie informed me that I could have my insurance mail Bradley Allen a check. I did just that for the next time I was in the shop. Unfortunately, about three weeks later, someone rear ended me in a parking lot. This time I already knew where to go. At Bradley Allen, again, I was offered a coffee while my car was getting an estimate. I was also notified that they could install my fog lamp from my previous accident at the same time. Finally, I had some damage on the back of my bumper from backing into a pole. They called me to ask if I wanted that to be fixed as well. They told me that this was the opportune time to get it fixed and that I would save money because insurance was paying for the paint job. Because of their call, I saved about $500 dollars. Yes, but do remember to check the finished details before leaving the shop. A truck, or SUV, (according to the insurance appraiser and folks at Bradley) backed into the rear of the car. Although the body suffered minor damage, the rear door caught it worse and had to be replaced with a brand new one. Cliff and Sheri were the two from Bradley who helped me. They were both very friendly and patient. The end result was amazing even though the shop took way longer to do the job than originally promised, While I was doing the final inspection with Sheri, I noticed the decal on the rear, which cost me $1,500 as a part of the sport package option when the car was purchased, was replaced with a decal for a lower trim. I asked for the original decal be put back on. Unfortunately the shop technician had thrown it away already - not cool. read more

Had an accident and got referred here about 4 months ago. Had my car taken end with front end damage from a hit and run. They came back with a $7000 estimate replacing a bunch of stuff that probably did not need to be fixed but whatever. They painted the whole front end and I asked if they could paint my rear bumper at the same time at no charge. Figured $7000 job they could do a $200 paint job as it was already in the paint bay. Service writer said no problem.. Was the end of the month when I get a call from the service writer saying they needed to deliver it before the end of the month for their bonus and I was out of town and I said no problem drop the keys off and leave it out front. They failed to get the alignment done on a front end collision wheel was shaking on the freeway and guess what they did not shoot the bumper like they agreed to. Had it dropped off again to fix the alignment and get the bumper painted. Had someone pick up my car they did the alignment but bumper still was not painted. Called the service manager he said no they are not going to do it after agreeing to it and was being really confrontational and very rude. bottom line staffs attitude sucks and they do not follow through. read more

Went to this Caliber Collision on Coast Hwy 101, recommended by my Ins. agent. Her name is Melissa, she was not only kind and helpful, but assessed the damage right away, gave me options on the spot. Super honest, professional and saved me lots of money at the same time. I can't express enough how her way of conducting the business was exactly what we, the consumers, want to see these days! Hands down, the best Auto Body shop in San Diego!!! I was very happy with their customer service and the end results! The receptionist was on point. She had me call her 10 minutes before my arrival so she could perfectly time when the car rental should arrive. I forgot to call her and she actually called me! Way to stay on top of things! When I arrived I was there for no more than two minutes when my rental car showed up. The paper work was already to go and I was in and out in a matter of minutes. They completed their work on time and finished to perfection, They even detailed my car! After my car was rear ended in a minor collision, my insurance company gave me a list of recommended body shops in my area. Caliber Encinitas had glowing reviews on Yelp, so I decided to go to them to help repair my car. While Julie's customer service and the overall quality of the work was definitely satisfactory, Marty and his team made this difficult situation excruciatingly painful. His initial estimate was 4-5 days to fix the rear bumper. This repair ended up taking 15 days. Communication and follow through were nonexistent, at best I would receive a minimally worded text instead of hearing from a real person. Each time I called to see when the car would be ready, I was told "it will be ready tomorrow - I promise". This happened on at least 4 separate occasions. I had to call each time to check on the car, as they never called me to provide updates regarding the delays, even though Marty also "promised" he would call me in the morning to give me an update. I understand that cars and ordering parts can end up taking extra time, but the lack of communication and attention made 15 days unnecessarily difficult. This delay by itself would not have been so bad, but I returned my rental car (only covered by the other person's insurance) because Marty "promised" that my car would be done that Friday afternoon (April 15). I am a nursing student working with very limited time, so I scrambled to return my rental car in the morning as I had class all day and did not want to be charged for an extra day with the rental. At 4:06pm, Marty texts me saying that, again, my car's repair has been pushed back until Monday. So after rearranging my entire schedule to ensure that I would be able to return the rental and pick up my car from Caliber, I was not notified of the delay until late that day, which left me without a rental car or my own car for the whole weekend, as Enterprise no longer had any cars available. I then had to re-rent a rental car that following Monday, because AGAIN, my car was still not ready. Now I need to fight with the insurance company regarding the rental, as they have a hard time believing that I needed a rental (twice) for this long. I am incredibly disappointed by the care and communication I experienced with Marty and Caliber, especially because everyone else highly recommended this shop. I have never felt so neglected or less of a priority as I did with them. read more

Not sure how that happened as it was a pretty obvious dent.
