Update... the car was not detailed, a detailer checked it out & you can clearly feel the difference on each side. How after owning the car for 24 years did it NEVER leak when going thru a car wash but after having work done on the car at this place is it leaking? So now it leaks, more road noise coming in but yet they claim they never did any work on the driver's side door. Yet they also told me they didn't do any work on the inside but when I asked how did the sunvisors get put on backwards they said they had to take the headliner off. Make it make sense? I am super happy with my service from Chris Amato's. They went above and beyond with the accident repair of my E30 BMW. The paint is shiny, glossy, matches and everything they did looks great. They nicely addressed small things that they didn't have to do and that made the whole job look way better than it was before the accident. I can't stop looking at it cause it's so good. PAINT COLOR DOES NOT MATCH!!! My entire passenger side got side swiped, so I took it to this shop to get serviced. I have red Tesla and they supposedly specialize it Tesla's so I thought they would do a good job. Boy was I dead wrong. The paint quality is so cheap when comparing it to the stock Tesla red it is laughable. It looks worst in different lighting. Literally looks like a heap TJ paint job. My car got one good side now and one bad side, the bad side being Chris amatos work. Paint is so bad i decided not keeping this car anymore, trash. Having used Chris Amato's Body Werks multiple times for different cars, my last experience (Rivian R1T in November of '24) was as great as all the others. Besides excellent workmanship, a strong warranty and access to the owner, if needed, their customer support is excellent. Jackie was my adviser. She did an excellent job keeping me abreast of the progress, dealt with all the required approvals and was an effective advocate for me in the daily coordination meeting. Due to an out of town visitor requiring a car, we needed the repair done by a specific day. Jackie and the team made that possible which was extremely helpful. My Tesla came to this body shop a few months ago for warranty repair and they did a good job fixing the factory blotched paint job where there was a shadow on the paint. I also called recently and spoke to Mike for a second opinion on a denied Mexico car Insurance claim that we already had pending at Toyota Carlsbad collision center. I wanted to know the out of pocket repair cost if we went through with his body shop instead. He gave me the tip to try fighting the insurance by asking to speak with a supervisor. I went in to have an estimate on fixing some deep scratches and a slight dent of my front bumper of a Model S Tesla. I asked for estimates to fix the bumper and on replacing the bumper with a new one. Both jobs would require repainting the front bumper. I was sent an email of only one estimate for fixing the existing bumper from Zack, the person who made the appraisal. I called Zach and asked again for the costs of replacing it. Zach quickly sent me another email with quote that appeared to have inflated costs for labor and body work (on a new bumper!), making the cost of replacing the bumper $800 more than fixing it. I wrote an email in response, asking for clarification, but received no response. I took my car to another body repair shop (Chapparone), which was rated more highly and also closer to where I live. Unlike Amato's, Chapparone issued two estimates for me within a couple minutes while I was still in the shop! This allowed me to discuss these estimates with the appraiser in person. Reassuringly, the estimate for fixing the front bumper was within $50 of Amato's estimate. However, Chapparone's estimate for replacing the bumper was $700 less than that of Amato's. Given the small difference in price between fixing the bumper versus replacing it, I elected to replace the bumper, something conceded by the appraiser at Chapparone, and even by Zack when I met with him, as probably being the better option, in terms of having greater likelihood of looking like new. Amato's performance in making estimates is clearly not 5 star. If you are using insurance to pay for repairs, I suppose cost doesn't matter. If you are paying for repairs out of pocket, then avoiding Amato's Body "Werks" probably is a good idea. read more

Brought our BMW into the shop mid January and got it back yesterday, February 18. the whole passenger side had been sideswiped and the front tire wheel well had been smashed in. What we got back yesterday was our ruined car looking brand new again. It sparkled and you would never know anything had happened to it. My wife and I couldn't be more satisfied. My camper van was damaged in a windstorm and other shops weren't able to accommodate it due to its size. From my initial check in all the way through they were top notch. From the moment I walked in the door the first time I could tell this was the right place to repair my BMW X6M. The staff greeted me and immediately walked out to get pictures of the damage, I was introduced to their estimator Corbin Potts. Corbin gave me a detailed explanation of the steps they would perform to get my car back to like new. I was later contacted by Sarah Cooper letting me know she would be handling the insurance part and she told me steps that would be involved with insurance company. I asked Corbin in the beginning for a ballpark figure of how long it would take, he said they don't really know until they tear down the car what will have to be done , he said guesstimate was 3 1/2 weeks. I called this business to have body work completed on my Tesla. This company was unfortunately recommended by Tesla. (I will be letting Tesla know of my experience.) I was told by Jennifer that I would get a call back "most likely by the end of the day" after forwarding all of my insurance information over to them. It's now been over a week without so much as even a call back or email despite calling them 2 times to inquire of the status. I don't like to be that person to bug them for a call back, but when your car needs to be repaired there is not time to leave people hanging. Based on other reviews, delays, lack Of communication and not responding are a common occurrence with this business. I simply wanted to get my car fixed. Now I've wasted a week trying to get my car repaired costing me unnecessary car rental expense. If you are too busy to take in new business at least have the decency to let me know so I can go elsewhere instead of waiting and calling with zero response. If you can't even call people back to schedule repairs this reflects poor customer service and management, which is a red flag! And I am glad I did! A few things I felt that set them apart. I was anxious to get my vehicle fixed and needed a quote ASAP. After calling CABW, they were able to see me right away for a quote. Once I got to their establishment, Cheryll greeted me at the front desk and was very personable, helpful, and guided me through the process.
