What I can say, is that from the beginning, he seemed not only very knowledgeable, but dedicated and very enthusiastic about his work. The contract that was developed and I signed was thorough, and offered main level remodeled trim, paint, doors and walls that I decided to add in addition to the main work of remodeling the kitchen, putting in hardwood floors, and redoing our stairs so they were hardwood as well. The project once it began took two months. It would have been shorter but for the fact it was over the Christmas and New Year holiday. What I want to say more than anything else is how very pleased I am with my new house. It is beautiful. The kitchen has new granite countertops, cabinets, and backsplash that are still a delight to behold. But the trim work and new doors throughout the main level are truly stunning. It was given all enamel painting and is beautiful. Mr. Gula also agreed to add a replacement of our front door for a very reasonable price. And finally, Mr. Gula returned several times to touch up items that were left undone, or needed touching up. I am so grateful and pleased with his work, and highly recommend him.

Since we were needing to get the car out quickly, Tim and Jacob worked together to get someone back to get the dumpster in under an hour, which was super responsive for us. Capital Construction is quick to knock on your door after a storm and sign you up for repairs. More…read morethan 8 individuals in our community in Crosslake signed contracts for roofing, siding, and window repairs after a hail storm in June 2024. They were quick to have independent roofers replace damaged roofs. After that the service went to hell. After many calls to determine the status the project manager informed us to find a local handyman to complete the work. Out of frustration most of the residents fired Capital and had another company complete the work. As someone that is in the construction business, I insisted that Capital honor our agreement. In December 2024 the company's VP promised that the needed materials would be ordered during the winter and repairs would occur in early spring. On June 12, 2025 (the one year anniversary of the storm and cutoff date for receiving re-imbursement from the insurance company) the production manager John Hope told me they were awaiting delivery of the materials. I contacted the material supplier and was informed that the order was placed on June 13th (the day after I spoke to Mr.Hope). Finally on July 18th a crew finally showed up to replace the siding. Several other items of work including a door replacement. siding. an accessory building, and light fixture replacement that were on the original work order were not done. At that point I was done dealing with Capital Construction, Promises made, promises not kept. Interesting that they have changed their Company name.

Two different representatives from Capital Construction stopped by after we had very light hail…read morerecently. Was told that our roof had damage and wear that they could see from the street. Both representatives did not have identification when asked for it and both said they had City of Burnsville permit to solicit but it was either at the office or in their vehicle but did not offer to go get it when asked. As a business located in Burnsville, they should be aware of city requirements to conduct business. I told both that our regular contractor had been up on the roof since the hail to adjust some siding and also checked the shingles (very light pea size hail) and there was no damage noticeable. My trust level with Capital Construction after two similar high pressure sales experiences is very low. Both times I politely said "Not interested but thanks" and I got continued pressure until I asked them both to leave. Will not consider using Capital Construction. We use another high integrity contractor who does not go door to door to solicit jobs. They also do not tell someone that there is damage when looking from the street.

In fact, when we were in the offer/negotiation phase of our home buying experience, Glacier was expeditious about using their aerial software to draw up plans for an estimate on how much a new roof would cost, which allowed us to use that detailed information to significantly reduce our bid and still have our offer accepted by the buyers. This was highly appreciated, and all done at zero cost to us with no contract signed at all. We could've just taken the info and ran off to some other roofing company if we chose. We didn't, but still, this extension of goodwill was a great first step in trusting them with our roof replacement. We did not immediately replace our roof upon purchase of the home, but rather scheduled it hastily a couple months later when all the summer rainstorms rolled in and we discovered leakage over our fireplace. I appreciated that we were not heckled during those two months to select them or move forward with the work; they trusted us to come back when we were ready to do so. Our delay did not cause any issues in terms of picking right back up from where we'd left off with them, as I contacted Chuck via text and he was responsive to scheduling a time at my convenience to come over to our property, get up on the roof, take a few more measurements and peeks under the current shingles, and inspect for potential problem areas that would need extra care. At this time he carefully went over the contract with me, and explained the pricing for the sheeting underneath that may or may not need replacement and the cost associated with that. He answered my questions regarding payment (Glacier is fine with a personal check, which was awesome) and the timing of said payment; they did not require me to put down a down payment of any kind prior to scheduling the work and said that payment upon completion day-of was fine in the amount stipulated by the contract. In the event of cost beyond the contract amount, they were fine with us paying the remainder later on in a week or so. Chuck also then showed me some shingle samples that he had with him in the back of his truck. I wasn't too smitten with any of them, because, well, I'm kind of a weirdo who likes a lot of color (I have arcade carpeting inside my home, fyi) and my roof wasn't gonna be an exception, and all he had with him were boring browns and greys. But he said he could drop off some additional samples the next day for us to look at, which he did. It was cool he didn't make a big deal out of it. We ended up opting for the Owen's Corning brand Evergreen Mist color (though Midnight Plum was also tempting). Scheduling happened pretty rapidly as there was a window in the forecast. They were able to complete the work same-day. Their crane truck and pallets did kind of kill our grass in a couple spots and there was a small amount of junk left around our property afterwards, but for the most part they kept it clean, plus they did a lot of preliminary tree trimming in spots where there was overgrowth free of charge. I contacted my insurance agent about lowering our rate (since they were Class 3 shingles) and was provided a form to send to the roofing company. Chuck was a bit slow to get it completed, but ultimately he got it back to us! Hooray!

Thanks to Jake, Allstate approved the work.Jake's guys did a beautiful job on the roof, which wasn't easy because my roof is steep and has dormers. You could tell the way they worked together that they were very experienced and skilled. There were about 10 of them and they finished the whole roof in a day plus a few hours more the next day.Jake had them put on extra of the waterproof under-layer to prevent ice dam problems in the winter. Throughout the whole time Jake was pleasant, considerate, knowledgeable, and competent. He always kept me informed and strived to do the best he could for me. Also told them of the wall outlet that doesn't work and the person I talked to said he would look at it while he was here. Well, another worker showed up, didn't know anything about the outlet and it took 4 hours to replace the tile. I didn't check the tile until after the worker left as they had been often I figured they could at least get the color right. I cannot express enough how difficult it has been to work with thia company and would not recommend them to anyone.
