Had the most appalling experience at the Selah Branch today. Since Covid their customer service…read morehas gone down hill, no tellers and not even greeted upon entering the branch. It was the most awkward encounter and to make things worse when o did get service she was rude. Furthering this experience, I made a comment on their facebook to only have it deleted. At the end of the day Solarity lacks genuine customer service, and could care less about complaints since they like to delete them and based on their yelp review I can see I am not the only unhappy customer. Sadly to say I will be closing my 15 plus year relationship with them and taking my business elsewhere.

This is all while putting out commercials, billboards, and statements about how they offer wonderful customer service. I saw an appalling transaction in the lobby on Summitview in which an elderly woman who had been a customer for decades (she said so) was begging for help, and they just kept telling her how she was now responsible to do everything herself, through the ATM. At the end, in the face of all of her frustration and fear, they smiled at her and said, "Is there anything else we can do to help you?" I felt like going up to the staff member and saying, "What was the first thing you did to help her? You have to help her first, before there can be something else you can do to help." Maybe I should have. We have slowly moved our accounts out, and know several others who have done the same. The leadership seems bent on making this an internet bank instead of a credit union, which is supposed to be there to help its members and not to function like a big bank. Now Solarity functions worse than a big bank. Big banks, for the most part, still have people in the lobby who will help with deposits and withdrawals, and real drive-throughs that are staffed. Solarity now builds buildings to house ATMs that you must use yourself. Now that's customer service! In my life, I have never seen another go so far downhill as Solarity. The saddest part is that it seems to be, it must be, by design.

Escrow Pacific seems to cater to the buyer and not give a damn about the seller. Nearly every month…read morethe seller makes a payment (on the last possible day) and Escrow Pacific does not show it as paid until at least the next day. But it is always pre-dated as paid on time. Then Escrow Pacific for some reason takes 2-3 business days to electronically transfer the funds (direct deposit) to the sellers account. Payments made on Friday the 10th show up as paid on Monday the 13th. Post dated as paid on the 10th. Then direct deposit to my bank account (via Pony Express?) might show up by the 15th. My pay check is direct deposited and shows up 15-30 minutes before midnight the day before payday! They don't have any method of contact other than a phone call (what is this 1970?). When I call them they treat me like a criminal. Horrible customer service. Not friendly at all. I don't have time to wait on the phone. Payment due the 1st of the month with the 10th being the latest. I should have my payment no later than the 11th! I didn't sell the property so Escrow Pacific could babysit the buyer and treat me like shit!

Then when the balloon payment came due, they helped calculate the amount due, and handled disbursals. And in 5 years not one mistake was made, everything was calculated correctly, and the staff was consistently polite and helpful. Our experience with them was great.

From the home loan perspective they have been very helpful, able to get us a very good rate and have made the process of mobile banking relatively easy. They recently introduced an app it allows you to deposit checks with your phone. This didn't seem like a big deal until we started using it. Admittedly, they are a little behind in the implementation, but it works very well and on the hall has been really nice. The people that work at the branches are helpful and pleasant,making most ordinary banking issues pretty seamless. The reason this local bank doesn't get the five star bump is because they don't offer a lot of the ancillary loan services. After joining, we found out they don't do new or used car loans, and also found out it's relatively difficult to do Interbank transfers. Interestingly, many of the folks who work here we're on aware that the services are unavailable as they seemed pretty basic to normal banks. I'm sure they have their reasons, but it sure would be nice to be able to get all things standard bank related done at one location- c'est la vie! All in all, it's a solid place that does home loans and checking accounts really well, but outside of that, at least for the standard participant, there's not as much offered as we would've expected.
