When I booked David's Country Inn for my 2021 wedding, I was so thrilled to see Calico as a preferred vendor. My step-mother and Father had used Calico for years, and even for their own wedding! Aside from using Calico for different occasions throughout the year (holidays, birthdays, etc.), I chose Calico to do the flowers for my wedding this past July and they came out BEAUTIFUL. Elise sat down with me about 6 months prior to the wedding and patiently went through everything with me from the colors and types of flowers for the bouquets to the simple centerpieces I had in mind. Everything was seamless and when I showed up to my ceremony the day of my wedding, WOW. Everything was perfect! She even made sure to have someone deliver the bouquets to my parents house before heading up to the venue so my bridesmaids and myself could take photos with them before heading over to the wedding. The flowers were everything I envisioned and then some. Her and her team also did boutonnieres, some corsages for my mother and mother-in-law, and a few big bouquets for the gazebo where we had our ceremony (along with hanging some flowing fabric from the beams of the gazebo for extra effect). I discovered Calico during a last minute freak out trying to get flowers for my fiancé after her bridal shower. Being a man I totally forgot about them till an hour before I had to pick her up. Little did I know that most florists in the area were already closed except for Calico. I called them and told them about my situation. Even though they were about to close in 30 minutes, they still helped me and gave me exactly what I needed to surprise my future wife! Very kind and talented staff with a good price point as well! I'm the least interesting man in the world...I don't often buy flowers, but when I do, I live to regret it. The flowers were nice looking and were well received. But I was stunned to learn that there were only 9 tulips in the vase. The woman who took the order was very nice, and helped me through the process (I admitted I had no idea what I was doing). I feel, though, that she had a responsibility to tell me how many flowers would be in the collection. I asked around, and everyone agrees that 12 is the default. Doubly so after I mention how much I paid. Similarly, I just got my credit card statement, and it looks like I was charged the tax on the "delivery fee". I'm too lazy to look into whether that's standard practice, but again, it caught me off guard. If I'm making a transaction over the phone, you may want to tell me the final cost. Again, the flowers looked nice. almost as nice as the two dozen that someone else got from Shop Rite. read more
