For the store itself: I was greeted right away and the sales associate (forgive me, I do not remember her name at the moment) made herself available for questions. Think of this store like a mini-locally-owned Hobby Lobby or Michael's (knick-knacks, seasonal decor, decor accents for the kitchen, living room, den, yard, etc.). Everything was organized, displays were easy to maneuver around (explored this store while wearing my napping 10-month old so ease of being able to move in a store while babywearing is a priority!) So yes I am impressed and will return again. If you need a gift or a craft I would recommend this place, especially if the larger craft stores are intimidating, your first time in a craft store and don't want to be overwhelmed, or are just curious--like I was). There are both branded yarns and pretty hand dyed yarns created by Anita the artisan/owner. The shop is mostly yarn, but also a variety of other crafting supplies and crafts on display - lots of cute felt projects, fimo clay jewelry, and various mixed media projects. There's a lot of cute finished projects out to see and buy supplies to duplicate, as I did with a beautiful crocheted scarf. The owner is very friendly and helpful. They also have classes for anything you'd like, at reasonable prices. Love this place, and may be soon making a special trip back up the mountain to take a class here!

Very very very cool place! My boyfriend and I visited big bear during this past Labor Day. I saw…read morethis and immediately wanted to try it! They have many different shapes and sizes to choose from starting at $6.99 and up to $25.99 (I might be a dollar off on the higher price) they have shapes from stars to squares, to pyramids, to regular cylinder shapes and a squiggly line kind of candle. So pretty much you get this tin and fill it up with all these different colored wax cubes. You fill the Tin with any colors and how ever much you want (up to the top) and then you get to choose the scent you want. There are about 20-25 scents to choose from. I chose three (brown sugar I think is the best, I also chose lavender, and eucalyptus). From there Paul (the son) says you can stay or come back in 15 minutes and the candle will be done! His father is sometimes there and also helps (Paul). They also sell bath bombs, chapsticks, lotions. I think they just sell those to try and get more money but the candles are the main event. Overall a great experience and he definitely needs to open up some places in LA and other places.

Many succulents to choose from and a variety of decor from Halloween to dinosaurs to colored moss. Melissa executed a complicated succulent workshop for our company this month and it went so well…read more She was patient, responsible and responsive. The workshop was well received by all my colleagues (~50 people). In addition, Melissa executed this workshop among a few different locations, making the effort to get our other offices all the materials in advance. I would highly recommend Melissa in any corporate event. Melissa and I had a few calls and traded a number of emails about this event. While she was responsive to my questions, she was also able to run with the event without much guidance. The day of the event, Melissa arrived on time (early) to set up, taking care to protect the tables with disposable tablecloths. She set out all the materials (including decorative rocks and pretty colored moss) and guided participants through the workshop. She was happy to answer any questions. Afterwards, she cleaned up quickly and thoroughly. My colleagues thought the event was relaxing; it was a nice team building and we created something pretty for our office. It can be stressful working with Type A people (me) and in company events, and I was blown away by Melissa's dedication. We would be happy to work with Melissa again.

And I painted murals inside the shop. My artwork was carelessly dropped on the floor and broken (frame) and I was not treated nicely at all when I wanted them to pay for the repairs. The women who run the shop are rude and scary. I was renting a space there but I was viciously kicked out for no good reason. The only thing that I am truly upset about is this: I hand painted a large mural in the shop and I was kicked out so fast and so viciously that I did not have a chance to paint over it. And the president of the place managed to either somehow scrub off or paint over my signature. Of my art. There are a few nice people there. But mostly bad vibes. SHE REMOVED MY SIGNATURE FROM MY ART. Oh! AND! During an art show opening event, they put yellow caution tape across my booth and my friend's booth to prevent us from making any sales. And they tell customers they are doing construction. Not true.
