To whom it may concern at California Closets, I was looking for a carpenter to remodel my three closets. I had ideas and a budget to do something good. Then, I started meeting the carpenters. They seemed so uninterested, so disengaged with my ideas, so negative about what could be done and what could not. One of them gave me a price for the project of $12,000*; and when I rejected his proposal as too expensive, he shrugged his shoulders and suggested I try California Closets. He said, "They are cheap..." WOW! I wondered, "Does this guy work for California Closets?" I Googled California Closets and was assigned to Cari. We met on a Saturday. She stopped by my place, took very careful measurements of all closets, and then off we went for lunch. Lunch was on me. Hey, I had a designer now! Not a carpenter! We did the first design drafts over coffee and burgers. Cari was patient with me and a good listener. She had ideas, but, she wanted to start her design from my vision and then add to it, inspire me more. She was sensitive about pricing, guiding me to understand how my choices added to the price and value of my project. Cari and I continued to work closely by phone and e-mails. There would be weeks that I would call Cari every day. Cari responded at all times. There would phone calls during which I came across as impatient. Cari would say, "You gonna love it, don't worry." There would be times that I was plain out rude and yelling on the phone about details I hated. Cari reassured me that everything would work out to my absolute satisfaction. In a nut shell, Cari is a true professional and an asset to your company. She is creative, patient, and knowledgeable. Most importantly, Cari is a wonderful person that cares about the feelings of her clients. She is a hard worker and my experience with her was exceptionally satisfying; and the product she delivered was just right for what I wanted. My husband and I contacted California Closets shortly after moving in to our home in October, 2002. The master bedroom walk-in closets had the familiar, standard, white wire hanging feature, which were completely inadequate for our wardrobe needs. CC connected us with Virginia, who contacted us promptly thereafter. Virginia was professional from the onset, and came to our first meeting prepared. First she measured, then asked us what our individual needs were, then walked us through design options, offering valuable suggestions, and then giving us material and color choices. She maintained appropriate communication, sending 3D renderings that gave us the option to make changes if necessary, and to have confidence in the decisions we made. The installation was fast and painless, and to this day, the cherry wood shelving, beautiful brass hanging rods and fold out hamper are in beautiful condition. Her assistance in designing the closet features to meet our needs was invaluable. We were so happy with our first project with Virginia, that I didn't hesitate to call her when I needed help with my laundry room. It was a plain room with just my washer and dryer, and absolutely nothing else. Virginia exhibited the same commitment to customer service with this project as she did with the master bedroom closets. Virginia helped design the laundry room to maximize the space, and I now enjoy beautiful cabinets, cubby's, and a very useful hanging rod. I have no doubt we will engage Virginia again in the future for additional organizational and renovation projects. I called California Closets for a consuItation because I needed to get additional storage space in 3 closets in my home, as well as putting some additional storage space in my laundry room. I had an appointment set up with a consultant, Nicole - within a couple of days. Nicole was terrific. She sat with me and discussed what storage space I needed, and listened to what I wanted to accomplish. Then she measured all the closets and the laundry room and sat down with me again and created a schematic on the computer - so I could see exactly how each space would look when it was finished, as well as the cost for the entire project. After I met with Nicole, I took a few days to mull over the plans - and ended up having to request some changes because I realized some of the orginial plans would not suit what I needed. I contacted Nicole - and discussed the changes I wanted to make. It was no problem at all. Once the plans were finalized, I had California Closets come in and pull out the old racks in the closets and laundry room, spackle and paint, The actual installation of the closets and laundry room cabinets were done the next day. From start to finish, throughout the entire experience - everyone I encountered was courteous and professional. They did a terrific job and I am really pleased with the way the entire project turned out. It was way better than I had hoped. read more

We continue to have amazing experiences with Karianne from California Closets. It all started everal years ago, I went to CC to fix all our closets. The master closet in particular was completely inadequate. Karianne was professional, thorough, asked the right questions and was extremely prepared, ready to measure and do a drawing in front of me. She came up with an amazing solution for the master closet which is still more than satisfactory for our needs and it looks awesome. The install was perfect as well and the people were so pleasant. Two years ago, we decided to do something drastic for our teenage son's room and did not think twice before calling Karianne. The room now has murphy beds and bookcases to later double as a study when junior is off to college. Last month, my brother in law moved into a new apartment and had Karianne meet us there to look over his closets. It was a rush job and needed to be installed very quickly. Karianne again measured, did her drawing, and finalized the details by even measuring his shoes to see how many shelves she can squeeze into the walk-in. She was amazing. She called up her assistant who got us a date and he was able to move in on time. The closets look great and without a hassle. We all highly recommend this closet company, but Karianne especially. I was very happy with my entire California Closets experience. I had a great designer, Virginia. She designed two walk-in closets for my master bedroom. She was quite creative with her design ideas. Virginia was also very patient with me. It took several months for me to make a final decision. I went to the showroom quite a few times to see the actual closets and options. In the end, it was worth the effort. Virginia made the best use of my space. I wanted quite a few doors and drawers and she did a great layout based on my individual needs. I love my closets and I am so happy that we took the time to consider different options as we moved along in the design process. I would not have had the same result if I had a designer who was just in a hurry to make a sale. I appreciate my closets every day and am so happy I have them. I can't imagine going back to my original closets with little organization and tons of wasted space. I am also a Realtor and I know that they will be a big plus when I decide to sell my home. These folks are great, especially Virginia. My wife and I had a great experience working with her. Twice. A few years ago we asked Virginia to design a bedroom closet and in-room cabinet system. She was fast, professional, and full of ideas that were better than ours. Needless to say, the project came out even better than we had expected. (And we had pretty high expectations going in.) We loved our new space. But then we moved. (Our renters now love the space.) Having moved, we reached out to Virginia out once again to design another bedroom closet, a custom in-wall multimedia cabinet, a massive built-in living room book case, and a never-before built display platform for our Victor Vasarely sculpture. Once again Virginia was awesome. Once again we love the results. Guests in our home always compliment us on the living room, media, and artwork pieces. (Not many guests see the bedroom closet. But were they to see it, I'm sure they'd love it as much as we do.) If we move again, or even decide to remodel any rooms, Virginia will be top on our must-call list. read more

We stopped at the showroom in Hawthorne and we were very impressed with the quality of California Closets products. We thought that it would be very expensive, but we were still interested in getting an estimate. We were given contact information for a representative in our area. Virginia Cocca came to our home measured two closets in our Master Bedroom. She made very good suggestions and designed 3 D diagrams to accommodate the space we needed. Virginia was very professional and did not try to sell us more than we could afford. We were very pleased that California Closets has something for everyone budget. The installation was done neatly and the workers were very professional and they respected your home. We were so pleased with our bedroom closets, the following year we called Virginia again to come back and help organize a closet for the kitchen pantry. She did a wonderful job and we gained twice the space. Our experience with California Closets and Virginia has been a positive one, and we have recommend the company to our friends. read more

I used California Closets for my husbands closet, a tricky space as it is oddly shaped. Maria was my designer and she did a fantastic job!! She pushed for an unusual layout that made the most of our space. We would never had envisioned it that way but it is so user friendly and we have much more storage space than we would have otherwise. In addition, we threw an odd James Bond-esque request at her, and she was able to create something unique and cost effective. When the price was more than we were able to spend, she made a few cuts that were barely noticeable and made it affordable for us. They were quick, quiet and neat in demolition of current closet and installation of new one. I can't recommend them (and Maria) highly enough! read more

When I was searching for the right closet company, I decided California Closets was the best. Starting From the initial call to setting up an appointment with a sales rep. Maria came out to my home within a couple of days. She made the best recommendations on what she thought would be useful in each and every closet I did. She really knows the product very well! I used California Closets for two projects in my custom built home, my master bedroom walk-in closet and my laundry room. My closet designer, Virginia Cocca, was very helpful and smart with her suggestions on how to maximize my space and to create an even flow for both my husband and I to share the closet. Sadly, I had a less than favorable response from CA Closets. I recently asked them to create a craft center in my finished basement. We had the design, color, hardware all picked out. Then they decided not to do the project because they'd have to cut angles on the counter-top that might not come out smooth. They offered to install the base. Then I'd have to install my own counter top. After that, they'd come back to install the hutch. That's unacceptable. So I'm no longer recommending them. read more

We got a terrific closet and the entire experience was utterly painless. Virginia spent an hour with us at the house creating and tweaking design configurations, which we could view in her 3D design program, and scheduled the installation before she left.
