I recently took a class with instructor, P.W., and his instruction was exceptional. He is knowledgeable, approachable, personable, kind, and inclusive. He somehow makes an all-day class feel like it goes by quickly! What I appreciated most was his teaching style. He doesn't just give you the answers, he walks you through the question or scenario and helps you critically think your way to the answer yourself. He takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure everyone feels comfortable asking questions. This was a challenging class for me, and having an instructor like P.W. made a huge difference. I heard that the business is looking for a new home, apparently the owner of the building sold it and gave them very short notice. The class wasn't very structured or thorough. It just seemed very rushed and hasty and a little…read moresloppy. At one point, I tried to ask her a question about whether the breathing part actually delivers enough oxygen, but her answer was for a different question. I felt like she didn't take the time to listen to what I was asking. The CPR training was reasonable, but the First-Aid part was barely addressed. I recently completed a NOLS/WMS Wilderness First-Aid course through REI, and I felt like I learned so much there. And while being in the wilderness may be a significant difference in circumstances, the injuries are not. Blisters, heat-exhaustion, impalements, etc. can all happen anywhere, especially with children. But in the end they were quick to respond to my email, and I got my certification in less than 2 hours, on a holiday weekend no less, so I guess I should be happy with that. I'm just not someone who's looking for an 'easy A'. It's kind of sad, because many of the students that come here are working for schools or the YMCA, and they're supposedly the ones trained to handle your children in emergency situations.

This class went over first aid and CPR, mainly the basics given a certian situation. Since all situations will be different being able to recognize some signs we're helpful. The instructor Tricia was expressive and engaging, the 4 hour class flew by quickly with an information dump of how-tos, both in video format and with partner demonstrations. There were room for questions after each section and each answer was informative. Luckily they provide a take home manual that summarizes the slides you'll be going through if you forget. Bring snacks and drinks (closed tops/bottles), as you'll get breaks in between, though they do offer some for sale. Overall great class and definitely recommend it either for a first time, refrehser or if you need the most basic form of certification.

Not only was the course $100, but I did not receive my certification the same day. I have taken CPR courses over the last 10 years and I have always received the physical card or Ecard same day. I have tried to call their main line for days and nobody answers. Finally got a response to my email that I SHOULD get it by the end of the day. When I spoke with the American Heart Association, they weren't much help either. I was told that ACLS has 20 calendar days to provide the information to them so they can mail out the cards. I was not informed of this information at all. Please avoid this company at all costs. They do not care whatsoever after they receive payment.

I rescheduled with another local company and requested a refund. Kaitlyn Todd instructed me I would receive a refund within 6-10 business days. I wait 10 business days and never received my refund. I once again reached out to Kaitlyn Todd who said she would issue me a refund ASAP and was unsure why the initial refund did not go through. It's been a week since I last spoke with Kaitlyn Todd and have not received my refund. I have left a voicemail for her and called multiple times on different days. At this point, I feel as if I have been ghosted and will resort to disputing the charge with my credit card company. UPDATE: Kaitlyn has replied to my email and has instructed me to move forward with disputing the charge to my credit card due to being unable to refund my money at this time because of a backlog of refund requests. Again, I advise everyone to steer clear of this business.

Once I decide I need something, I get fixated on it and need it in that moment. I typically buy my electronics from Best Buy, but they didn't have the flash I wanted in stock locally, and waiting a few days for delivery clearly wasn't an option for me. So I started looking up local camera stores and found George's Camera. Lucky me! I called, and they told me they had ONE left in stock. At that point, I wasn't taking any chances. I immediately asked if I could purchase it over the phone and pick it up that same day. They were more than accommodating. Now, this is where my poor planning comes in. The store closes at 6 PM, and I risked it all by getting there around 5:56 PM. I was already slightly panicked knowing I had cut it way too close, but what I absolutely did NOT anticipate was pulling up and discovering a Farmer's Market happening and nowhere to park! At that point, I knew I had officially pushed my luck. I called the store in a panic, and to my surprise someone actually answered the phone. Yes, I was suprised because the average business would of just watched it ring. By this time, I had circled around the store again and noticed the metal gate in front of the store was partially closed. My heart dropped. I knew there was no way I would make it in the store before closing. I explained the situation and asked if there was any way they could bring my purchase out to me. At 5:59 PM, ONE minute before closing, a staff member came outside and handed me my flash. Now THAT is customer service! They absolutely didn't have to do that, especially when I was the one showing up at the last possible second, but they truly saved the day. I appreciate them so much. And now, thanks to George's Camera, I'll be up all night practicing (yes, I've never used one ) with a flash I probably had no business impulsively buying in the first place. But considering they had exactly ONE left, let me buy it over the phone, and somehow got it into my hands at 5:59 PM despite a farmers market standing between me and my purchase...I'm choosing to believe I was destined to have this flash.
