The instructor I had, Bryan (I apologize if I misremembered your name--it's been a while), was charismatic, kind, and had the utmost patience. I can attribute all my fears being alleviated solely because of him. He was strict, but fair, believing in me throughout the entire course (even when I almost got us into a crash during my initial exposure to driving on a busy street. Sorry for that, lol). Every mistake I made, he was sure to correct it in order to ensure my success within the very next lesson. Bryan had made the entire learning process enjoyable, but also directly improving my self-confidence and utilization of techniques when on the road. Especially when compared to the recklessness that currently plagues SoCal drivers, i pride myself on being responsible and safe when operating any vehicle. Which led me to question, "Why are the reviews for this school so low?" I don't know if there are multiple instructors, however, I can attest that Bryan is nothing like the negative comments make him out to be. Though, these harsh criticisms seem to only come from more than a decade ago--so I reason things have changed. Regardless, I do have one nitpick. It's the DMV this school recommends you to take your tests at: El Monte. I won't name anyone in particular, but there is a specific proctor who you never want to get. There are anecdotes, forums, and a whole petition to remove them from their position. This is due to their overly condescending attitude, plus the (almost) guarantee that you will fail under their grading. Once I got another examiner, I was given a much more accurate analysis that I passed. If I were given a chance to restart all my progress, I would not risk touching this DMV with a 1 mile pole. Anywhere else (except Pasadena) would be better. Nevertheless, Atlantic Driving School cannot control who you get--which is why I didn't take a star off. George really knows how to teach people how to drive from scratch. He is very patient and will guide you, step by step, on how to be a good driver. He stresses how important it is to drive slowly at first and won't freak out at your mistakes. As you can see from previous reviews, some people find George to be "inappropriate". George likes to analyze people's lives and sometimes will ask you questions that may seem intrusive. If you don't want to talk about things, just tell him and he will respect your decision. George' schedule is pretty packed, so you will have to book a couple days in advance. Make sure you give yourself enough time before and after the lesson because he sometimes might be late or will ask the next student to drive you to your destination. George is hands-down a great driving instructor, and a good driving instructor who gives a damn about whether his students actually learns is extremely rare. If you want to learn how to drive correctly and is down for a therapy lesson once in a while, George is your man. I had a great experience learning how to drive with George and would recommend it to anyone I know!

Tang's driving school has great rates of $50 for 2 hours of drive time. My friend practiced everyday for about a week and then her instructor signed her up to take her driver's license exam. TIP#1: Make sure you are eligible for traffic school before signing up! At the comfort of your own home (or during my down time at work in my case), you read through about 10-12 articles talking about traffic rules. At the end of each article, there is a mini test of 3 simple questions each. At the very end, you have 2 chances to take the final test. You must answer at least 18 out of 25 questions correctly to pass. Otherwise, you will have to sign up for traffic school again elsewhere. TIP#2: It is not timed and open book, so if you're unsure of a question, google it! Once you have completed and passed the test, Fast Lane Traffic School will automatically electronically submit your Certificate of Completion to the DMV and Court. They say it takes about 5-7 business days but it only took 4 business days for me when I checked back on the court website! No point on my driving record + no increase in my insurance fees = a happy customer!

S pass driving school was recommended to me by a family friend, but after my negative experience with the previous driving school I was wary. My first contact with S Pass Driving School was positive as the receptionist was so nice and accommodating. I had to make a schedule change last minute and she was able to squeeze me in. I first met David who was very thorough and easy to make conversation with. My remaining lessons were Angie and she was extremely thorough. We would go over the same intersections until I felt completely ready. I gained so much confidence with them, and we went over ALL the test points (even scanning intersections before entering them which i had no idea about!). I really didn't think I'd ever pass after taking so many lessons and feeling defeated. My 3 lessons with S Pass driving school fueled my confidence, I'm now licensed thanks to them!! I was very unfamiliar with the El Monte area (where I took my test), but I was able to pass with 3 lessons and no additional practice in the area because of how observant they are during the lessons. I don't remember…read morehis name maybe Nathan or something like that a skinny fellow at the time Asian with glasses when I was learning to drive about 4 years ago would use a pointer (a toy finger) and would smack me on the hand when I'd mess up. (Which was often but I was a beginner) I still remember to this day and it bothers me immensely. I realized how unfairly he was treating me when another girl around my age came in to learn as well and he stopped his usual teaching method (the smacking) because I know he liked her. Instantly his mood was day and night. It happened SO often that one day I just told him to stop teaching me by yelling at him and telling him to let me do things on my own for the rest of the fucking class. He had the nerve to sit there and laugh btw but I was already pretty good. (Fuck you actually you know who you are.) His brother however incredibly skilled at teaching and was very kind. Avoid this school at all costs if you have the Asian guy, who's like 5'4, skinny, plain clothes, with the glasses the money I spent here I HORRIBLY regret. Not to mention my very first driving class he just took me on the freeway no communication or anything just "GO HEREE" It's been 5 years never gotten a ticket because after about 6 classes I quit and self taught. Wish I could rate this place ZERO stars.
