My Son only has been attending for 2 month, he loves it. I have seen a great change in my son, he is more courteous, patient and focused. My son has really learned a lot in a short time. Sensei Scott runs a very good program and has a great gift for teaching. I would recommend this Dojo to all that are looking to boost your child's self-confidence, grow their values and have a positive mentoring attitude.

THE BEGINNING OF FIGHT NIGHT! (Sparring is every Tuesday and Wednesday night)

My little brother and I both attended the dojo. I was 18 when I started and my brother was 4. Sensei Scott really has a way of pushing his students to be the best they can be, regardless of age. In the dojo, as well as in the classroom, or in the workplace. Many students have had significant increases in grades at school as well as manners and behavior at home. Sensei Scott gives his students equal amounts of one on one attention as well as attention to the entire group. The curriculum here showcases the highest qualities that each student must attain in order to proceed to the next belt. So you can't come in here and think that belts are just given to anyone who is gives less than 100% everyday. This dojo is really not for kids to mess around in. It's definitely not a daycare center. If that is what you're looking for then this is not the dojo for you or your child. But if you're looking for a dojo that teaches that karate is more than a routine of moves that "look cool". It's really a lifestyle that is to be used in the dojo as well as the outside world. Then you have definitely found the right place. So be ready to push yourself or your child to be the best you/they can possibly be!

I have both my kids coming here, and they love it. They offer unlimited karate classes, and they work with you individually.

My son was 6 here first day trial on a sparring day (sorry for the blurry pic)

When my son turned 6 I want to enroll him into a self defense class. So as I was passing by I saw this Dojo, went down and met Sensei Scott. You know that feeling when something is good to happen and it did, now my son is 11. Sensei Scott has passion, dedication, and patience of teaching this kids and as well as the adults. You have the opportunity to learn the kata forms and weapons, how to defend yourself and be confident. It will test your memorization and skills. On top of that Sensei Scott makes sure that his students do best in school. Over the years Sensei Ron joined and he comes in for sparring days which are tues. and weds. They are just best at what they do. Come by and join us at California Karate Dojo and see for yourself.

Recently, I found myself bringing my 9‑year‑old -- and I'm so grateful we did. My son never really found his place in sports. We tried football, soccer, baseball -- nothing clicked. But the moment he stepped into this studio, something changed. He found comfort, confidence, and a sense of belonging that we hadn't seen before. I truly believe it's because of the teaching approach here. The senseis don't just teach martial arts and self‑defense. They teach discipline, respect, focus, and responsibility. They meet each child where they are and bring out the best in them. You can feel the patience, the structure, and the genuine care they put into every class. Watching my son grow here -- not just in skill, but in character -- has been incredible. Villatoro Bushido MA is more than a martial arts studio. It's a community, a support system, and a place where kids learn to believe in themselves. Highly recommended for any parent looking for a positive, empowering environment for their child.

They also offer adult kickboxing classes, which are a great way to stay active and learn new skills. Highly recommend 10/10 experience!

So when I moved to Glendora, I was looking for an authentic Korean Dojang and fortunately I found Soo Bahk Do which not many people have heard about. I was surprised to learn that it's based on an ancient Korean system passed down from the Ku Ko Ryu Dynasty over 2000 years. Therefore, Soo Bahk Do is the oldest known Korean martial art form. The new location over at Covina has ample space, is clean and has a great learning environment. Master George has done a great job with my kids and my friends kids who are between the ages of 5-7. He has a great deal of patience and works really well with this age group to make sure they understand the concepts and forms. We also appreciate how he keeps the traditions while utilizing Korean in his commands and teachings. We have been going for a year now and I can say my kids confidence has increased along with their discipline and self control. The small classes has helped a lot which allows for more individualized guidance and support. Recently my kids went to a karate tournament and it was really a great experience for them. Master George worked tirelessly to ensure they practice their combination forms along with sparing techniques to get enough points to win. Overall I highly recommend sending your kids here :)
