Me and my cousin were former students of red dragon. During me and my cousins time there. We had a very positive experience because of our learning environment. Our sensei's played a huge role in that. Especially because of the confidence boost they gave us. One of the best decisions we have made so far for extracurricular activities for our son is put him in RDK Glendora. We have tried many different sports and this one by far is our sons favorite. We started back in March 2020 on zoom due to the pandemic and have continued ever since! The Sensei's are all nothing short of amazing and great with all the kids! Patient, great role models & awesome examples of true black belts! We go three days a week and the values that are taught in the red dragon code are life skills not just in karate, which is why we continue to attend! We participated in their very successful Trunk or Treat this year for Halloween, and what a great and super fun turn out! I love that they are involved in the community and teach the kids to do so at such a young age! We recently had our son's 5th birthday party there with a few friends and family. We have had a great experience with Red Dragon. They've had some challenges with Covid, but truly have made the best of this situation. My child enjoys the classes and the summer camp. They are the hardest working bunch of people - I don't know how Bryanne manages to be everywhere but she works her tail off with these kids. I've been so pleased with their summer camp, my child comes home excited and I can tell by their updates that the staff works hard to engage the kids and make sure they have fun but also learn. The icing on the cake today was that the my sent my child a birthday postcard signed by the Senseis! He was so excited and I thought it was incredibly thoughtful. After much insistence from my daughter and the reassurance Sensei Bree gave me, I signed my daughter up. 2 months in, my daughter has been able to hold her wrist straight, something I have never seen from her. Red Dragon Karate (RDK) - Glendora has not only changed my kids' life, it has changed our entire family! Two years ago, our son attended the school district's School Age Care program and seemed to immediately get into trouble. He is very high energy and very active, so it was a challenge for a program that lacked structure and relied heavily on discipline rather than correction. We noticed a change in his personality and not wanting to go to school anymore and that's when we knew a change was necessary. We heard about the RDK program and the RDK After School Martial Arts (ASMA) program. We took a chance and enrolled him in both programs and that is when our lives changed. Our son was finally happy again. When he would walk into the dojo, he immediately felt at home. The structure in the RDK program and ASMA program was exactly what we needed. From picking the children up at school, transporting them to ASMA, assisting them with homework and getting them prepared for their karate class is a blessing. Shortly thereafter, we enrolled our daughter in the programs. She too has excelled in all aspects, at home, at school and in karate. The program encourages positive behavior and builds amazing self confidence in both our children. It is very goal orientated and teaches children to build lifelong values such as mental and physical health, respect and caring for others. The encouragement and the atmosphere is simply priceless. I have two of my children at Red Dragon Karate and my wife and I are very happy with their program. RDK has exceeded all our expectations on every level regarding our kids. However, nothing is perfect and I do have small criticisms of RDK. I will start with the positives: POSITIVES: My son and daughter have grown both mentally and physically since we have had them in their program. In my opinion, what parents need to understand going into any extracurricular activity (for any child), is what the GOAL of the activity is? For my wife and I, we wanted to teach our kids the following: Self-defense, focus, respect, discipline, and honor. Martial arts was the perfect fit for these goals and RDK has delivered on every level. In our opinion, the RDK staff, Senseis and specifically Shihan Casamassa genuinely do care about the kids. No other single element of RDK is more important than the obvious compassion and caring for the kids at RDK. It is something that separates them from other dojos and it is something that can't be faked or disguised, at least, not for a very long time. We have seen significant, specific improvements regarding our children's confidence and pride over the years and we are convinced that RDK is a tremendous factor in their positive growth. Again, nothing is perfect and RDK is not either, so accordingly, here are some small criticisms. CRITICISMS: Anyone who spends time at the Glendora dojo knows how sardines in a can feel. Way too small and they really need to find a bigger building in Glendora. Ironically, this is probably attributed to their successful program. They really need to expand, especially in Glendora. Even though I have not considered cancelling with RDK, I do not like their cancellation policy. A three month time period to cancel may be a standard in the martial arts industry (I don't know), but I think this type of policy is outdated and in need of a change. RDK doesn't need it either, as I believe they provide a great service and run a very successful business. BOTTOM LINE: Overall my wife and I are extremely happy with RDK and we would highly recommend them to any parents with young children. RDK truly is an exceptional dojo that teaches great life skills in all aspects of development, especially regarding children. Red Dragon Karate has EARNED our family's trust and respect. read more

Never trust a reviewer who has no friends and no other reviews, as they are usually affiliated with the business. I do not give bad reviews lightly. It usually takes multiple issues for me to post a bad review on a business. We had been Red Dragon affiliated for over three years. We had originally had our child enrolled in the Via Verde studio, no problems. A separate positive review was done for them. But not all Red Dragons are created equal. The problems began to arise when we needed to transfer to the Glendora studio, absolutely terrible experience I don't want any other parent to go through. When we transferred my son had 3-4 classes a week at Via Verde for $150.00 monthly. We moved out of area, but still wanted to keep my son in karate because he loved it. We were informed that my child could take weekend classes at the Glendora studio and some private lessons since Via Verde did not offer weekend classes. The first weekend we arrive the studio was closed, no call from the studio to let us know. I called and inquired about the private lessons they promised and was informed by Shelly that she would call me back. She never did, however they continue to charge my account $150.00, while my son is only taking one class during the weekend as that was all they had to offer. After two weeks of calling and no call back I shut down the credit card that issued their payment. After this occurred I began to get calls and e-mails, but only to ask for my payment. I informed them I would not need their services any longer, and pulled my son from the program This summer as my son missed his karate friends I placed him into their Summer Camp Program, which is non-licensed, and run by teenagers who obviously are not monitored. I called Shelly to check up on my son during the week and to get a copy of the sign-out sheet to see who was picking up my son, as this was a concern. She did not call me back. I called three times with no answer. I have reason to suspect they were releasing my son to unauthorized adults and are covering up by not sending me the records. Unfortunately, I had to make a complaint with California Social Services Child Department regarding this issue. I am hoping the state does a review of the unlicensed summer program and cleans up the issues they have with their staff. read more

Dont sign up unless you want to pay for overpriced lessons from kids. The teachers are just teenagers getting minimum wage while the owner collects thousands a day for nothing. You have to buy eveything, uniform and equipment, from RDK. Forget about competitive shopping. You will pay full price for everything. $200 for a plastic sword that I found on ebay for $30. Yet when I showed them, they claimed it wasnt the same and that we could not take lessons unless we bought it from them for $200. I talked to a competitor and he said that the ebay sword was the same sword. The lessons are mediocre and the talent is mediocre. They will get your debit card and make sure they get theirs each month. Oh yeah. Dont think about quitting either because if you do there is a 90 DAY CANCELLATION FEE. Yes you will have to pay 3 months lessons as a cancellation fee even if you are finished. Even if you want to take the summer off you still have to pay the fee. What a scam. They will try to sell you eveything and anything, and after several years and 7 to 9 thousand dollars, you will wonder where that money went. read more
