THE BEST MOTORCYCLE LOCK SMITH EVER!! So I recently bought an aprilia dorsoduro (motorcycle) when I bought the bike I was only given one key. So that same day I ordered to aprilia keys blanks with the chip inside because these fancy Italian bikes don't just use a mechanical key it has an anti theft chip inside the key that has to be programmed. Anyways the same day my new key blanks arrived at my home was the same day I lost my one and only master key. I was screwed I called aprilia and Ducati in Newport Beach and they were absolutely no help what so ever. Basically all they wanted me to do was buy a whole new dash, lock set, etc. for $$$$. I finally after searching found ERIC who is absolutely incredible. I told him about my problem and he said bring it by with the blanks and let me see what I can do. Not only did he get my blanks cut he also reprogrammed my whole entire dash to accept the new chips inside the new key blanks which I was told by several other company's was impossible and that I would have to buy all new parts. They took care of setting up a new key fob and cut the backup key for me for me very quickly, about 15 minutes even though the fob I bought online was "locked". Erik is the best! California Locksmith Security Solutions was the first of five companies on a list to call. First plus, was that an individual answered the phone. None of the usual "leave us a message and we'll call you back when you no longer need us" B. S. Second plus was when the person that answered wasn't sure if they could help me, they put me on a three way call with Erik who confirmed that they could. That was enough for me, I booked a time and threw my list away. My schedule was kind of tight that day but Erik made the time to stop by in the small window I had available. He stated he would call just before arriving, and what do you know, he actually called. Within five minutes he pulled up to my driveway. Erik stepped out of his van with a purpose, while at the same time greeting me by name. He walked right over to me and shook my hand. (an important business tactic in my opinion) I explained my situation (I needed the key, or the chip inside the key Fob of my daughter's car reprogrammed) While I spoke, Erik looked at me and listened to the problem before he asked some follow on questions and started investigating the key fob problem. To make the rest of my review a bit shorter, I will say that the "chip" was missing from inside the key Fob (no clue how it was starting the car), Erik said it wasn't a big problem, that he would just put another one in, but that would take more time. He spend about two hours with a computer hooked up to the ECU, while going back and forth between his van and the car. I had also asked him to make a second key. I was just about to cancel the second key to save time and allow him to get to his other appointments when he said he was all done. One reprogrammed key Fob along with a second new fob cost far less than the "stealership" wanted just to isolate the problem. And I already new most of the problem. Erik took the time to explain all possible outcomes and potential costs associated with each. There was never any pressure or hard sale. Every step of my "problem" became a "non-problem" and that was because of Erik, his level of expertise, and impressive professionalism. I recently got a duplicate key made for my Volkswagen by Eric. I did not have the original key at the time so he had to make one using my car's VIN. When doing this, he had to remove my entire dash board and when it was put back, it didn't work at all, so I really couldn't drive my car at all until he fixed that, which he did a few days later. When I got my original key back, he had to reprogram it to my car, as it is completely deactivated when you create a new one from your vehicle. When it was reprogrammed, for some reason the remote won't lock or unlock my driver's side door. I've never had this problem with the remote, or my door ever- and Eric claims it was a coincidence that something in my door is not working properly now and has nothing to do with my remote. Then he went on to tell me that he can give me a quote for getting it fixed there, or I can go to the dealership and get it fixed there. I'm not paying to have something fixed that was working perfectly fine before before my car was worked on by him, and also seeing as though something was already broken by him on my car it just seems a little odd. I was having issues with my Baldwin mortise lock. Over the years, I had taken it apart in order to clean and make small repairs, which is not an easy task. Recently, I was having issues with the latch locking in place. I called several locksmiths in the area and they were all too happy to tell me that they could not repair the mortise lock (without looking at it) and advised me to buy a new one (approx $500). I advised the various locksmiths that I talked to that I had already taken the Baldwin mortise lock apart and that the problem was due to a slight bend in the latch. No one that I contacted offered to help me. I contacted CA Locksmith and I was fortunate enough to meet with Kong. He was the only one who offered to help me fix the issue by actually looking into the lock and repairing the latch. Kong carefully grinded down a portion of the latch that was keeping it from working properly. He was very patient and spent quite a bit of time with me ensuring that the lock worked properly. Thank you for your help Kong! The lock is still working and you saved me over $400. read more
