Bad businesses practice
Jaiden T.

Thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify a few points to ensure the facts are accurate. I spoke with three different individuals during this process, and the original price I was quoted was not a rate that appears to correspond with any of your established vehicle classifications. When I questioned the amount after receiving a different quote, one of the individuals I spoke with even commented that the price "seemed a little high," but stated that it was the amount provided by management. Additionally, your response states that pricing is predetermined and not set by your staff. While I understand that there are fixed state fees for documentation and registration, your business also charges service or business fees, which are determined by your company and contribute to your revenue. As a business that has operated successfully for 25 years, it is clear that these fees are part of your business model. My intention is not to argue, but simply to set the record straight regarding my experience and the information that was provided to me throughout this process.

How much for a smog check for a 2011?

Prices for vehicles newer than 2000 are discounted. Call for the best price.

Hi how much is the total cost for getting smog check for 2012 model? Do you also put the emission meter in the tail pipe when you perform the test? Thanks

Mine was less then $70 after using the yelp coupon. I had a 2010 they just run diagnostics none of the tailpipe stuff

When I asked whether this was an actual DMV rule or whether it was clearly stated on the DMV website, I was told that it was not. If this is a requirement, it should be clearly communicated to customers instead of leaving people to find out after arriving for their appointment. The entire process was extremely confusing. Different employees were yelling different instructions at me about my vehicle -- telling me to move the car, not move the car, drive it, don't drive it, and move it somewhere else. I was given conflicting directions and felt like I was being completely run around instead of being clearly told what I needed to do. When I expressed my frustration and explained to Vanessa that I was getting the runaround and that no one was clearly communicating what I was supposed to do, she responded by screaming at me, "YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" That comment was completely unacceptable, rude, and disrespectful. I came there as a customer expecting basic professionalism and clear communication. Instead, I was yelled at and made to feel unwelcome. The entire experience was extremely disorganized and unprofessional. I also felt that I was treated unfairly and that the interaction had racist undertones, which made the experience even more upsetting. Customers should not be spoken to or treated this way, especially when they are simply trying to understand the process and follow instructions. I hope management looks into this situation and addresses how customers are being treated and how unclear communication is creating unnecessary frustration.

I got to the DMV around 11am and immediately saw a group of people hanging around the entrance. There was a staff member at the door who was trying to answer everyone's questions as they arrived. I followed the posted directions and used the QR code to check in. I was then directed to head over to a separate room to fill out another DL renewal form online. Make sure you take a pic of the confirmation number. They'll ask you for it later. I asked a staff member about receiving a text prior to my name being called and he confirmed that I would get a text about 10 mins prior. During the QR code check in process, you provide your phone number. The DMV will then send you a text, confirming your number. The text sent will also provide information on your place in line. This allowed me to sit outside away from the crowd. When I was called up, I got the unfriendly service the DMV is known for. I was told another DL would come in the mail after she reviewed my online form. Overall, besides the unfriendly service, I really liked the updated check in process and not having to wait inside for my name to be called. Thankfully, I wasn't charged again for this request.

Nobody likes going to the DMV, so let's be honest about that. Overall, I had a good experience at…read morethe Fullerton DMV, and I actually like their QR code system for checking in. It keeps the line moving, and once I got my number, I waited about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. It sounds long, but the numbers were moving surprisingly fast. The biggest issue is the waiting area outside. There are only a couple of benches, so most people end up standing or even sitting on the ground. It creates a lot of confusion because people arriving don't realize they need to scan the QR code first. They end up forming random lines that don't actually exist, especially near the entrance. I do want to give a shoutout to the gentleman outside with the rolling computer. He was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. He kept trying to direct people away from the front doors and answer everyone's questions, but every few minutes a new group would arrive and gather at the entrance again. One suggestion: add more outdoor seating. There's a large landscaped area out front that could easily fit several park benches, which would make the wait much more comfortable. I usually handle everything online, so I haven't stepped inside a DMV in 15 to 20 years. I only had to come in because of a registration glitch with my tags. I was surprised by how much has changed. There are a lot more service windows than I remember, and I imagine removing most of the indoor seating helped make room for them. Overall, the staff was helpful, the process was organized once you understood it, and the line moved efficiently. A little more seating and clearer guidance for first-time visitors would easily make this a five-star experience. And happy to say because of the online glitch, my late fee was waived.

I think now it's now famous as the home of Elizabeth Taylor's 7th and last husband. The "City of Stanton" in a governmental sense wasn't bad. They provided a great library and Boys & Girls Club. My first play "California Suite" was at the Stanton Community Center. All of our potholders had come in the mail with the names of Stanton's councilmen and representatives. Did that happen everywhere or just Stanton? As a city, it's okay. I lived in Stanton for almost all of my pre-adult life. It was a quick bus ride to Huntington Beach (sometimes we rode our bikes the 12 miles), and a straight line to Disneyland, just five miles away, close enough that we could see the nightly fireworks that served as an unofficial curfew to come home. I attended Savannah and Mary Perez (both gone). For fun, we had a Golfland, Stanton Village Edwards, annual St. Polycarp festivals, trampoline basketball courts, and the unique Hobby City (now Adventure Land). Though we were regulars at an independent Mario's, the best places to eat in the late 70s were Sundowners (cafeteria style), Me & Ed's (especially after a game), and Pinnacle Peak, where they'd cut off your necktie and hang it, if you were stupid or silly enough to wear one. Like many California cities, it had become populated due to a railway. The LA Interurban ran straight from Watts to Santa Ana in 1905. I, too, would run straight from Watts. Named for LA assemblyman Philip Stanton, the rural area grew and was incorporated in 1911, and although it was then the largest city in OC, Anaheim had planned to use it as their "sewage farm". I think some of the seeds are still there. They dis-incorporated in 1924 to avoid the cost of road building, and re-incorporated in 1950s with the post-war population explosion. Around that time the railway no longer carried passengers, but became my shortcut to junior high. As of 2010, the population was 50% Hispanic, 23% Asian, and 22% white, with a median household of nearly 4 and an income of $51K. Though Safewise included Stanton in their seventh annual "California's 50 Safest Cities" report in 2021, the only time I was "mugged" was two boys taking my newspaper money. It was a little shadier back then. I think the guy running the Olympic torch down Katella (which I witness in 1984) was running a little faster than normal.
