I quickly fell in love with this place. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like family, and they're always offering great specials that make it easy to keep coming back. One of my favorite updates is their new combo option that includes both the red light and tanning. It saves so much time and makes the whole experience more convenient. I also mentioned that I'm not a fan of tanning my face, and the owner personally said she's follow up with the company to see if there's a way to adjust the beds to include red light bulbs just for the facial area. Above and beyond service! Even if it doesn't happen, it's such a thoughtful touch. I've never been to a salon that even offers beds like that. Their hours are super convenient, and I've never had to wait for a bed. They have plenty available, and if the red light is busy, I'll just tan first and switch after. It's easy and stress-free. They also have little extras like snacks and stickers to track your tan, which makes the experience feel fun and personalized. Overall, this place just gets it. Everywhere I looked I could only find spray tanning. Sometime you just want to lay down and feel the heat of the tanning bed and California tan delivered. The women at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful. Wasn't one of those 17yr old bleach blonde kids that work at most places. She was able to hold a convo and intelligently. After getting an awful sunburn line on my shoulder after a hike just 2 days before a wedding I needed to wear a strapless dress for, I was panicking! I called california tan frantic to find a solution and Scott eased my nerves, came up with a plan to help me out, and walked me through each step since this was my first experience getting a spray tan! The women at the front desk the next morning was patient and kind as she helped me prep for the spray! After the spray the pesky sunburn line was still a little visible and the women working that morning called her manager to figure out my options! With the self tanner spray suggestion my stubborn sunburn line went away the next day and I was able to wear a strapless dress with confidence for an important occasion! Amazing team! This place is great! And great first time specials. Saw an add on FB for 39.99 unlimited 1 month for first time clients. This place has good beds like the ergoline and the silverbullet and a high pressure stand up tanning bed. Just building my base Tan again. But I'm happy I found California Tan so close to my new place. Moved from LA in the beginning of the year. Only have been using the standup tanning at my gym but I'm just not seeing a tan from those beds and I wasn't so happy with iTAN salons. Check this place out. :) read more

The young woman at the front Tatiana, was amazing and very knowledgable. She worked with me to decide which package was best and even gave me a quick tour or the facility. She had such a genuine presence and was easy to talk to. I ended up purchasing some lotion as well and I really think it brought my tan to an extra level. I was very impressed with my tan even after just one time. The shop itself was very clean and well maintained. They also had small touches like complimentary candies, mints, extra towels, and cleaning wipes, and even those tan progress stickers in fun shapes (like from the 90's) :-) Looking forward to coming back soon and continuing to see excellent results. BE SURE TO CALL and not trust anything posted online regarding their hours. It seems that the owner can't make up her mind regarding the hours of operation. EVERY OTHER month, at least once, I seem to arrive either too early or too late and each time the employees tell me that their hours have changed...again. GREAT staff and clean beds. My husband and I started going here about 4 years ago. We always enjoyed it. It's so nice and relaxing to lay in the tanning bed and feel the warmth while listening to the radio, maybe even doze off for a while. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. How much help do you need to tan? you may be asking. Well, there's different types of tanning beds. They have lotions to accelerate your tan. The pricing plans vary depending on what you want. Between the San Diego and Oceanside location- I have been a customer of this company for 3 years. The beds are fine and price is good. I asked an associate before the billing cycle if I could sign my membership over to my fiancé and she said yes no problem. When I went in a few weeks later to do this and was told I can't. Now I'm stuck paying for a month I will not use. I have canceled my membership and unfortunately will not be back due to the lack of customer service. read more

I have been going here for years getting my spray tan. The newer spray tanning equipment is the best I've ever seen. It warms up the booth before you go in. It also gives a great tan. But, the best thing are the people who run the place...they are super friendly, positive people. read more
