Chelsea is an absolute magician! Her massage is the best. She really is able to target my trouble areas and provide relief. My boyfriend and I came in today for fire cupping for the first time and it was a 10/10 experience. All of the women at the front desk were so warm and welcoming. Our appointments were 30 min apart, but Kara was able to take us both at the same time. There were a lot of cute little details that promoted relaxation, from the air purifier in the room, to the dim lighting and relaxing music playing. Kara was so sweet and kind and explained exactly what to expect from the cupping. She asked me if I was having any aches and pains, and she tailored the cupping to my needs. Yesterday my wife and I had a couple's massage for the first time at The Wellness Lounge in Kearny Mesa. I have to say that we were both very happy with our experience. Anna, the person at the front desk, was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance, both of the waiting area, and of the actual massage room, was very nice as well. This is not one of the dozens of Asian massage storefronts that have proliferated in the area over the past several years. The Wellness Lounge comes across as well-managed and professional (and offers a number of services other than massage). Our massage technicians, Daniela and Hannah, were polite, friendly, and came across as both knowledgeable and professional. I have had quite a few massages over the years (not nearly as many as I would like, however) and my wife is trained as a massage technician. She was never employed as such, but completed school for it in Seattle, and every time we have a massage together she critiques the massage based on her knowledge of it. We were both more than satisfied with our massages, and I plan on coming again at some point. It's nice to know there is a decent place to get a professional massage in the Kearny Mesa area (we live very close). I highly recommend The Wellness Lounge, as well as Daniela and Hannah. read more

Came here by recommendation of a friend. I was scheduled an appointment with Dr. Reyhaneh (pronounced like the singer Rihanna) Sifakis. The office was a bit tricky to find by Google maps directions. I should have just driven through the Denny's parking lot off of Kearny Villa Rd to make a beeline for the Wellness Lounge Spa instead of doing some roundabout loop as directed by Google. The office was a bit smaller than I expected. Dr. Sifakis cleaned the adjustment table after the previous customer. She waited some time to let the cleaning solution dry off and for the strong scent to dissipate so I assume she did a good job cleaning it with a strong disinfectant. It was a 90degreeF day when I came and the tiny room either doesn't have A/C or it was just steaming in there because of the poor insulation. She had a strong fan going but it was still a bit warm. Dr. Sifakis did a thorough pre-assessment, asking me a lot of questions about my background and my pain. She is super nice and friendly so I felt at ease with her. She quickly identified my problem spots and targeted them with techniques for which I don't know the name for. I walked out with a less pronounced limp and felt significant relief in my shoulder. The only reason I am not coming back is I found out this office is not in-network with my insurance so the additional cost of the copay will add up steeply overtime. read more

They're always able to find where I'm tight without me saying anything, and we've been working on my knots. The knots have been there for awhile so one session isn't going to miraculously get rid of them. In between sessions I try my best to stretch and roll my back out, I think of it as homework. But, these knots aren't going to go away if you don't do some work in between massages! Anyways! Despite the unusual location kind of in a business park, the service here was great. I had an hour long massage and my massage therapist went above and beyond to ask me about the reason I was there and how different parts of my body were feeling. She felt a lot on tension in my hips and worked on that area for a long time which I hadn't even realized I needed but I felt so much better afterwards. My experience was more of a teaching session for Elly from Dr. April and although it wasn't your typical quiet session, I got to learn about tension spots and target areas on my body while being pregnant. This is a way past due review. I developed mommy's thumb on both my wrist during my pregnancy (at 20th week) back in 2021 and the pain just keep getting worst even after labor. At 3 months postpartum it was at the point where my wrists hurts so much that I could no longer held my baby, and this is when Kala came for rescue! In a few sessions and some herbal med (this is for another issue with my body), the pain just magically fade away and gone for good! On top of that I also want to say Kala really cares about you! During one of the sessions I vaguely mentioned I had a clogged duct and Kala mentioned she could do something about it, I remember she added a few needles around my neck/shoulder area, cupping, and also sent me home with a press needle, an hour later, I was able to pump and clear everything out! Came here for the first time on a Saturday to attend Hatha Yoga with Ciara. This place is definitely tucked in a very strange area, google maps will make it a bit confusing but you get there eventually. Anyways when I first arrived I tried to open the main lobby but it turns out it's separate from the yoga studio itself. So Ciara walked out from the yoga door and told me to come on in. I walked in the yoga studio and it's super zen and relaxing. The music they played during hatha is actually my study music (looool how ironic huh). There were diffusers, rock salt lights, several mirrors, and nice lights. The lights weren't needed since we got some natural lighting from outside to come in, but not too much. It was just perfect in terms of lighting. Anyways the space itself is pretty intimate and the class ended up being me and 2 other people. I kinda was confused on what to do and Ciara had some sinus problems going on and didn't want to get anyone sick and spread her headache due to it being bad vibes by getting hands on with anyone. Which I don't blame her for cuz I don't wanna get sick, but definitely it would've been nice for some hands on instruction. I didn't realize how tense I was until I was doing the yoga so it's good to be aware of spots that I didn't realize I was tense. Hatha ended up being super relaxing and I just wanted to nap for the rest of the day honestly. Hopefully I get the chance to come again soon but this time with more hands on instruction in order to be able to fix any posture mistakes and get the max benefit from yoga. read more

This is the first time I have ever taken a yoga class. Per my doctor he suggested yoga for Myofascial release after surgery. I must say I was impressed however most of all it relieved a lot of my back pain. I don't think I have ever downward dogged this much in my life but it worked. I was relaxed, rejuvenated and feeling stress free but most of all I had more mobility at the end of the class which in my case was a blessing. It's restorative, Hatha, Yin, Aromatherpy, Meditation and Massage Therapy. I emerge feeling like a hipster Yogi minus the hair bun. To sound cliche' her class removed blockadges I didnt know were hindering me. I breathe better, I leave feeling grounded and gain clarity.
