I do have a hot nerve and I was bleeding quite a bit. I felt every time he hit a nerve because I jerked. Dr. Kaban stopped immediately and numbed me up to make sure I didn't feel anything. We did not finish and I will be back to finish but I appreciate that he was very straight forward about everything and was on top of care and comfortability. Only endodentist in Vacaville/Fairfield that I would give my money too. He's not corporate owned and accepts United Concordia Tricare dental.

Dr Kabans clinic got me an appt so fast and made sure to confirm that I was not in pain. I have major medical anxiety and PTSD due to some pretty terrible care. Everyone was extremely patient with me about that. They were kind and encouraging. I appreciated the little touches like the rescue kitten cam videos, the emotional support cuddle bear, the full body bib, the warm washcloth for after and much more. Jessica was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. She looked up my insurance stuff and got everything together really fast. I was shocked how quick she got it all done! AJ is a great assistant and even thought I was explaining to him that I am a hot mess and super freaky about medical providers he assured me that he didn't think I was weird and he would take good care of me. Dr Kaban was so patient and explained everything that he was doing and made sure to answer my questions. While I don't want another root canal, I would definitely come back here if I need one. I wish that all medical offices operated like this one!

I called up a couple including Santa Rosa Endodontics and was accommodated the following day itself, for a consult. I was attended to by Dr. Marina Awad. I had been referred by the dentist for a 'retreat' of the root canal (done just months before) but instead of straight away wanting to go for that, Dr. Awad took the route of doing a thorough reexamination, first. They did a detailed 3 D X-ray, physical examination, blotting paper tests, did the level correction of that tooth cap, asked Qs, made suggestions, asked me to wait for a few weeks and come back (in case I could tolerate the pain and discomfort for a few days) to re-assess if at all a retreat was needed or was it okay to wait for it to heal itself (as visibly all looked okay to Dr. Awad). I preferred to wait and revisit. The thorough examination was undertaken once again and certain valid suggestions were got once again from Dr. Awad. The best part about my visits to her is her understanding and patient attitude. One of the suggestion/option she gave me was to try and wait it out for another six months to see if the issue was coz the root canal needed time for healing or a 'retreat' is really needed due to some other issue, especially when visibly all still seemed okay. I agreed with her point of view & suggestion. She is a thorough professional and seems someone who is in no rush to 'retreat' unless that's necessary. When…read moremy dentist at the time gave me the Novocain shots, it felt like the needle was going through my cheek and he kept poking the needle several places, each time causing more pain. Then having my jaw kept open by a rubber block made my jaw sore for days. And the drilling and all took a wicked long time. So, I was very trepidatious when my new dentist said it was time for another molar to have a root canal and she referred me to an endodontist. What a great referral. Dr. Opp was calming and explained everything clearly. Yes, the Novocain shot hurt at first, but it was over very quickly and just one poke. I couldn't believe that it was enough of the drug as it seemed to be much less than other times I had Novocain. It was enough until she got to the top of the nerve, but a bit of drug administered inside the tooth (again just a bit of pain) took care of it and the root canal then proceeded with no difficulty. She uses this weird rubber frame to keep the tooth exposed so my jaw was fine afterwards. She told me when to contact my dentist for an appointment for the crown, provided there were no complications. On that, she said they had a 24 hour phone number if I needed help with pain or other issues. Before my appointment, I had to fill out an involved online registration. It asked for medical history and more, so it took several minutes to complete. I have only one complaint. Even though my dentist took x-rays of my molar two days prior and sent them over to Endodontic Associates, they insisted that I needed them again. Plus, they did a full jaw x-ray. It turns out it cost almost $400 and insurance does not cover that. That should have been disclosed up front, not when I looked at the detailed invoice once I got home. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do, I hope Dr. Opp is still practicing.
